Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: The Awakening of the Outer Ruins

The first light of dawn spread across the canyon, bathing the Starlit Ruins in a pale silver glow. From above, the ancient complex looked even more majestic than it had the previous night. Crumbling towers, fractured courtyards, and giant stone pathways stretched across the canyon floor like the remains of a forgotten kingdom. Strange crystals embedded in the ruins reflected the morning light and released faint pulses of spiritual energy.

Krishak stood at the edge of the camp, his eyes fixed on the ancient structures below.

The moment he looked upon the ruins, a familiar feeling stirred in his heart.

Reverence.

Not because the site was impressive by the standards of his previous life, but because it proved that Earth had once possessed a far richer cultivation civilization than modern people realized.

Lunafang stood beside him, his silver fur fluttering in the cool breeze. The young wolf's ears were raised, and his eyes were filled with alertness.

He, too, could sense that this place was extraordinary.

After a quick meal, Headmaster Rudra gathered the team.

"From this point forward, every step matters," he said. "Ancient ruins are not dangerous because they are evil. They are dangerous because they were built with rules. If you do not understand those rules, you may pay with your life."

His gaze swept over the students.

"Stay alert. Follow instructions. Report anything unusual immediately."

The group descended into the canyon.

As they approached the outer gate, the scale of the ruins became even more imposing. Two enormous stone pillars flanked the entrance, each engraved with countless symbols and star patterns. Time had weathered the carvings, but a faint aura still emanated from them.

Ishita stepped closer and examined the inscriptions.

"These symbols are unlike any modern script."

Krishak studied them briefly.

They were a simplified derivative of an ancient language used by a sect known as the Stellar Heaven Pavilion.

He chose not to reveal this immediately.

"It appears to be related to astronomical observations," he said instead.

Professor Devika looked impressed.

"You can infer that from a glance?"

Krishak gave a modest smile.

"Some patterns are universal."

Headmaster Rudra activated a detection artifact and confirmed that the entrance was stable.

The team passed through the gateway.

Inside, the outer ruins resembled a vast stone city.

Broken halls and collapsed towers stretched in every direction. Ancient gardens had long since become overgrown with wild spiritual plants. Crystal lamps, though cracked and weathered, still emitted a dim silver glow.

The air felt heavy with history.

Ananya whispered, "It feels like the people who lived here only just left.

Krishak silently agreed.

The residual energy was remarkably well preserved.

That meant the site's core formations were likely still functioning.

And that meant the deeper sections could be extremely dangerous.

The group advanced cautiously.

Raghav sent Skyrend into the air to scout from above. The hawk circled the ruins and transmitted visual impressions to his summoner.

"Several pathways are blocked," Raghav reported. "But the central plaza is accessible."

They followed the broad stone road toward the plaza.

Along the way, Professor Devika paused repeatedly to collect rare herbs growing between the ruins. Some species were thought to be extinct in the modern world.

Her excitement increased with every discovery.

"I can't believe these survived for so long," she murmured.

Krishak smiled faintly.

Ancient cultivation sites often preserved ecosystems for millennia.

At the center of the outer district stood a circular plaza dominated by a giant stone statue.

The figure wore flowing robes and pointed toward the heavens.

Above its head floated a fractured crystal sphere that continued to emit faint starlight.

As the group entered the plaza, Lunafang' s body tensed.

Krishak immediately sensed danger.

"Stop," he said sharply.

The others froze.

A moment later, silver lines ignited across the ground.

Ancient runes spread outward in concentric circles.

Ishita's face turned pale.

A defensive formation.

Before anyone could react further, six humanoid constructs emerged from hidden compartments around the plaza.

Their bodies were forged from dark metal, and silver light shone from their eyes.

Each construct carried a different weapon.

Headmaster Rudra stepped forward, his aura rising.

"Formation guardians."

Dev gripped his spear.

Raghav summoned Skyrend to his shoulder.

Ananya prepared healing techniques.

Krishak's expression remained calm.

The guardians' energy signatures were roughly equivalent to Peak Elite Martial Warrior level.

Dangerous, but manageable.

The six constructs moved simultaneously.

One charged directly at Dev, its sword slicing through the air with mechanical precision.

Another fired a beam of condensed starlight toward the group.

"Scatter!"

Rudra commanded.

The plaza erupted into motion.

Dev intercepted the swordsman construct with a powerful spear thrust.

Raghav and Skyrend harassed the ranged guardian from above.

Ishita activated a suppressive formation to disrupt the enemies' movements.

Ananya maintained support from the rear.

Krishak and Lunafang moved as one.

Lunafang vanished into the shadows.

Krishak dodged the incoming starlight beam and struck a guardian's exposed energy node.

The construct staggered.

A silver blur flashed behind it.

Lunafang's claws pierced the weakened point.

The guardian collapsed.

"Excellent!" Arvind shouted from behind.

The battle intensified.

The remaining constructs coordinated with surprising efficiency, forcing the team to work together flawlessly.

Dev held the front line.

Ishita redirected energy flows to weaken the guardians.

Raghav created openings from above.

Ananya healed minor injuries.

Krishak analyzed the formation's structure while fighting.

After observing several attack patterns, he noticed that the constructs drew energy from the fractured crystal above the statue.

That was the formation's central power source.

Destroy the crystal!" Krishak called.

Rudra reacted instantly.

He leaped high into the air and unleashed a concentrated strike.

The crystal shattered.

The guardians froze.

One by one, they collapsed into lifeless metal shells.

Silence returned to the plaza.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Then Professor Devika exhaled deeply.

"Our first hour in the ruins, and we've already triggered an ancient defense system."

Rudra turned to Krishak.

"You identified the formation core quickly."

Krishak bowed slightly.

"The energy pathways were visible once the pattern repeated."

The Headmaster nodded, though his eyes carried renewed curiosity.

This child's insight continued to exceed expectations.

As the team examined the fallen constructs, Krishak looked toward the towering statue.

At its base, a concealed staircase had opened, leading into the depths beneath the plaza.

A stronger pulse of ancient energy rose from below.

Krishak's heart stirred.

The true legacy of the Starlit Ruins lay underground.

And this was only the beginning.
