Chapter 218 - Chapter 218: The Invisible Woman

[Chapter 218: The Invisible Woman]

"Who is that? Jessica seems really excited to see him. Could he be her boyfriend?"

"I don't know, but he definitely has a powerful presence."

Jessica took Daniel's arm and lowered her voice. "I thought you weren't coming."

"I never break my promises."

Daniel followed her into the private lounge area of the theater.

Once inside, Jessica closed the door behind them. The smile on her face faded slightly as she stared intently at Daniel.

"Daniel, I want to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"Two months ago, at the Paramount building, Megan landed the female lead in Transformers. Meanwhile, in the audition room, I inexplicably tripped and fell, and couldn't even speak coherently."

Jessica locked eyes with Daniel, her tone tinged with resentment. "That wasn't an accident, was it?"

Daniel smiled but said nothing, simply picking up a glass of champagne.

"All five of us had 'accidents.' A fire, allergies, injuries, family emergencies..." Jessica leaned closer to Daniel, her subtle fragrance reaching his nose. "The odds of that happening are lower than winning the lottery. Unless... someone used supernatural powers."

Daniel took a sip of wine. "What are you trying to say?"

Jessica's eyes brightened. "I heard you can transfer luck. Don't be so quick to deny it. I've looked into it; this has happened four times -- specifically with Amanda, Anne Hathaway, and most recently Megan Fox. All of them have very close relationships with you. You must have helped them perform a Luck-Transfer Ritual, right?"

"Oh? You've certainly done your homework."

Daniel wasn't surprised she had found out. This information wasn't exactly a secret; anyone curious enough could dig it up. But when it came to matters like this, as long as he didn't admit it, knowing didn't change much.

He smiled. "Just tell me what you want."

"I want that kind of luck too."

Jessica's hand slid over Daniel's chest, her fingertips twisting around a shirt button. The pure 'Invisible Woman' aura she originally had became somewhat seductive at this moment.

"Whatever Megan gave you, I can give too. I can even give you more." She looked up at him, her eyes filled with the desperation of a gambler and the ambiguity of a grown woman. "Next time a good opportunity like this comes around, can you consider me first?"

Daniel reached out and pulled her close by the waist, feeling the softness of her skin.

"She hasn't finished paying the price for the last luck transfer yet. Are you sure you want to try?"

Jessica's body stiffened, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she smiled. "What kind of price? How many nights?"

Daniel laughed coldly. "You think it's that simple? What you have to pay for a luck transfer might very well be your life."

Her expression froze. "My... life?"

"Think about it," Daniel said. "In this world, are there really benefits that come without a price?"

"I didn't expect it to be so serious." Jessica's beautiful eyebrows furrowed. "But those other women didn't seem to suffer."

"That's because I was there. Otherwise..."

Her eyes lit up, and she wrapped her arms around Daniel. "Then I don't have anything to worry about. After all, you're here."

Daniel shook his head. "I only try my best to keep you safe. I can't promise it'll be one hundred percent."

Jessica's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly said, "I trust you."

Daniel looked down into Jessica's eyes. She met his gaze boldly.

The atmosphere thickened with tension.

Jessica felt the intense physical energy radiating from Daniel, her breathing growing a little uneven.

Just then, footsteps approached.

"Ms. Alba, the premiere is about to begin."

Jessica reluctantly let go and gave Daniel a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'll wait for your news. Tonight... don't be in a hurry to leave."

Their eyes locked in the air between them -- ambiguous, dangerous, yet utterly mesmerizing.

Daniel watched Jessica's swaying figure as she walked away, his eyes flickering with silent calculation.

These Hollywood actresses were anything but simple. Once they spotted an opportunity, they would give everything to seize it.

It made sense -- otherwise, they wouldn't survive in a place as ruthless as Hollywood.

...

Night fell over Beverly Hills.

Jessica's red sports car tailgated a Cadillac as they pulled into the villa's garage.

She shut off the engine, opened the door, stepped out, and locked the garage behind her. Kicking off her high heels, she walked barefoot over to Daniel and hooked her arms around his neck.

"The contract is signed," Jessica said, her voice low and husky. "When does the Luck-Transfer Ritual begin?"

Daniel looked down at her. "It begins now."

He bent down, lifted Jessica into his arms.

As Daniel carried her through the living room, Jessica felt the friction of his linen shirt against her shoulder and the solid, unyielding strength of his chest. He didn't set her down until they reached the second-floor bedroom, where the moonlight filtered through floor-to-ceiling glass, casting long, silver shards across the silk sheets.

He lowered her slowly, but as soon as her feet touched the plush carpet, his hands slid from her waist to the small of her back, pulling her flush against him. The contrast was electric: her chilled skin from the night air meeting the radiating heat of his body.

Jessica didn't wait. She reached for the buttons of his shirt, her fingers trembling slightly with a hunger that felt like a physical ache. She popped the buttons open, sliding the fabric off his shoulders to reveal the sculpted definition of his torso. She leaned in, her lips grazing the hollow of his throat, tasting the salt of his skin.

Daniel groaned, a low vibration she felt in her own chest, and his hands migrated to the zipper of her dress. The sound of the zip was loud in the quiet room, and the red fabric pooled around her ankles like a spill of wine. He stepped back for a heartbeat, his eyes roaming over her with a possessive intensity that made her breath hitch.

He moved back in, his mouth finding hers in a kiss that was less of a greeting and more of a claim. It was deep and demanding, tasting of red wine and desperation. Jessica arched her back, her breasts pressing against his chest, the friction of skin on skin sending sparks of heat rushing toward her core.

He lifted her again, this time tossing her onto the silk sheets. The fabric was cool, but she was burning. Daniel followed her down, his weight a welcome pressure that pinned her into the mattress. His hands slid upward from her thighs, gripping her hips to pull her tighter against him.

Daniel's hands weren't gentle anymore; they were urgent, driven by a hunger that mirrored her own. He shifted, his thigh sliding between hers to press against the aching center of her desire.

Jessica gasped, her head tossing back against the silk as he began to trail kisses down her neck, his stubble grazing her skin in a way that made her shiver.

He moved lower, his tongue tracing the curve of her breast before swirling around the peak. When he finally took her nipple into his mouth, sucking hard, Jessica let out a sharp cry, her fingers digging into the muscles of his back. The sensation sent a jolt of electricity straight to her core, leaving her pulsing and slick.

Daniel didn't make her wait.

He reached down, his fingers finding the drenched heat between her legs. He groaned as he felt how ready she was for him, his fingers sliding deep inside her with a wet, sliding sound.

Jessica arched her hips, chasing the pressure, her breath coming in ragged hitches. He worked his fingers with a rhythmic precision, circling the sensitive bundle of nerves at her apex, driving her toward a peak she could already feel shimmering on the horizon.

"Tell me you want it," he whispered, his voice a raw growl against her skin.

"Now, Daniel. Please," she whimpered, her legs wrapping around his waist to pull him closer.

He positioned himself between her thighs, the head of his length brushing against her opening, teasing her for a heartbeat before he surged forward in one powerful, seamless motion.

Jessica let out a strangled moan as he filled her completely, the sudden fullness stretching her tight, while the friction of the entry sent a wave of intense pleasure crashing over her. He paused for a moment, buried deep, their breathing synchronized and heavy in the moonlight.

Then he began to move.

He started slow, pulling back until he was nearly out before driving back in, the sound of their bodies colliding echoing in the quiet room. Every thrust was deep and deliberate, hitting her G-spot with a precision that made her vision blur.

Jessica clung to him, her nails scratching his shoulders, her heels digging into the mattress.

As the pace quickened, the friction became an inferno. He shifted his angle, lifting her hips higher to plunge deeper, his movements becoming frantic and primal.

The sensation of him sliding in and out of her, the wet slap of skin on skin, and the radiating heat of his body combined into an overwhelming sensory assault.

Jessica felt the tension building, a coil tightening in her gut that refused to break. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss that tasted of desperation and salt. As he hammered into her, his movements becoming shorter and faster, the coil finally snapped.

A violent shudder ripped through her, and she cried out as her walls contracted around him in rhythmic waves of release. The sensation triggered him, and with one final, deep thrust that pinned her into the silk, Daniel groaned loudly, his body stiffening as he came inside her.

...

The next morning, Daniel sat on the terrace drinking coffee when his phone lit up.

Succubus Chris's voice came through. "Master, the opening-day box office numbers for Fantastic Four are out. It opened in 3,602 theaters nationwide and took in $21.26 million. It exceeded Fox's expectations. Jessica is a hit."

Just then, Jessica walked out of the bedroom wearing one of Daniel's white shirts.

Rubbing her waist, she came behind him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"I saw the news," Jessica glanced at the newspaper on the table, a satisfied smile curling her lips. "My agent's phone is ringing off the hook. All of America is talking about my portrayal of the Invisible Woman. Critics are calling me the sexiest female superhero in America, haha..."

Daniel turned his head to look at her. "How does it feel?"

"Great. But I think I should go out and see for myself, feel what it's like to be famous."

Jessica kissed Daniel on the cheek.

Daniel smiled. "Go for it."

...

Time moved on.

Megan called several times, her tone growing more anxious with each call.

"Daniel, it's already mid-July, and I haven't even broken a toenail. Is that normal?"

"Hold on." Daniel's only response.

Megan breathed heavily on the other end. "This waiting is agonizing."

...

A few days later, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

The premiere of Wedding Crashers -- Rachel McAdams' most important role of the year.

She'd taken the part entirely based on the prophecy Daniel had given her. She didn't know if it would be a success, but she was filled with hope.

The premiere was electric. Audience laughter nearly shook the roof.

Daniel sat in the VIP section, soaking in the excitement radiating from the crowd.

After the ceremony, in the backstage lounge, Rachel lifted her skirt as she approached Daniel. She gave him a firm hug and then bent down to reveal a faint scratch on her smooth calf.

"I got this at Paramount that day," Rachel stared at Daniel with a trace of bitterness. "If you had transferred my luck back then, I could've gotten Transformers and avoided this senseless injury."

Daniel looked at the scratch and coughed awkwardly.

As the competitor with the strongest presence at the time, Rachel had taken the heaviest backlash.
