A knock sounded at the door, drawing her attention just as it creaked open and Gérard stepped inside. His broad frame filled the entire doorway, commanding the space without effort.
She looked at him expectantly, but his gaze flickered away.
"I have to attend a party tonight. Be ready by seven," he said.
She blinked, confusion settling over her features.
"I… I don't have a dress," she murmured, still trying to catch up.
"I've already ordered one. It should arrive within the hour."
Her head tilted slightly, brows knitting together.
"Is it from the pack?" she asked.
"No. It's from the city."
Her frown deepened at that, but she simply nodded.
"Okay," she said softly.
He spared her one last glance before turning and leaving. The door shut behind him, and she stood there for a moment, staring at it.
A party.
He was taking her to a party.
