Chapter 176 - Chapter 176: I’m Not Here to Equalize!

Across major livestream chats:

"Welcome to Anfield—welcome to our city!"

"Gerrard once said he would give his life to defend Liverpool. Every Liverpool player should feel the same!"

"And once again, at the critical moment, it's Lin who steps up. So young, yet delivering decisive moments for the team again and again!"

"What more can you say? This is Anfield—you'll never walk alone!!!"

Bayern players immediately began protesting. Javi Martínez argued that Arnold had been in an offside position when he received the ball.

The referee exchanged a glance with the assistant referee before confirming the goal. The decision stood. Play resumed.

On the touchline, Heynckes smoothed back his silver hair and gestured with both hands for his players to calm down and control the tempo.

After all, this was Anfield. Conceding so early would inevitably boost Liverpool's momentum.

Derek Rae continued the commentary.

"Bayern must ride out this difficult spell if they want to protect their advantage. But Liverpool are not about to give them a moment to breathe."

"Liverpool are pushing forward aggressively. A high press combined with dynamic triangle formations—Klopp has fully unleashed his team. They're ready to trade attacks with Bayern right here at Anfield!"

The broadcast cut to the touchline.

Klopp stood upright and composed, as steady as a mountain. That unmistakable confidence of a German coach radiated from him once again.

"Look at Klopp right now—he has that mindset of 'I don't care how strong you are, we're attacking you anyway.' That's the spirit of German football."

With the constant creation of dynamic triangles, Liverpool increased their passing options.

Leo Lin began making folded runs again, weaving across midfield with overlapping movements to open passing lanes for the team.

19th minute!

"Neuer isn't rushing to clear the ball. It looks like he's deliberately waiting for Liverpool players to press."

"Firmino charges into the penalty area to press him! Neuer plays a short pass to Javi Martínez—with Leo Lin right behind!"

"Javi Martínez returns the ball, one touch out to the flank. Kimmich controls it and tries a through ball down the wing for Robben!"

"Bayern look confident, but Kimmich's pass is slightly underhit!"

"Robertson steps in and wins the ball! Liverpool have a counterattack!"

The moment Robertson gained possession, he burst forward, forcing Thiago to drift wide to help defend.

Thiago took the bait.

"Tap!"

Robertson slid the ball across.

Leo Lin received it in the center and turned to face Javi Martínez.

One-on-one.

Leo Lin cushioned the ball with the outside of his foot and exploded to the right.

Javi Martínez quickly turned sideways to cover, barely keeping up.

But in the next instant, Leo Lin shifted the ball with his right foot and cut sharply to the left.

Then he nudged the ball forward with his left foot—three consecutive direction changes with a double touch!

Javi Martínez was completely beaten.

He didn't even have time to grab him for a foul.

When it came to explosive acceleration over the first three steps, very few players in the world could keep up with Leo Lin.

It was the perfect display of both Strength and Explosiveness breaking past the 90 mark.

After getting past Javi Martínez, Leo Lin looked up.

Ahead of him was Bayern's defensive line—suddenly exposed.

Without midfield protection, it looked fragile.

The center-backs dared not rush forward. If they stepped up and were beaten, the goal behind them would be wide open.

That hesitation gave Leo Lin space for a long shot.

He took one quick adjustment step—

Then unleashed a full-powered strike!

"BANG!!!"

Firmino immediately jumped aside, worried the shot might smash into him.

But Hummels couldn't dodge.

Gritting his teeth, eyes burning red, he summoned every ounce of courage to block the shot.

With textbook technique, he turned his right thigh toward the ball and stopped Leo Lin's thunderous strike!

The ball ricocheted high into the air, screaming over the crossbar and into the stands.

Hummels had narrowly saved Bayern.

"Wait!"

Hummels collapsed in pain.

"My leg!"

The referee immediately waved for the Bayern medical staff.

They sprinted onto the pitch.

Hummels felt a wave of numbness and pain surge through his right thigh, almost making his leg uncontrollable.

Standing nearby, Firmino felt a sense of relief.

As Leo Lin's teammate, he knew exactly how powerful that shot had been.

While Bayern's medical team treated Hummels, Derek Rae explained the play to viewers.

"This was Klopp's tactical setup!"

"He pushed both full-backs forward to lure Bayern's midfielders out wide, creating a one-on-one situation for Leo Lin in the center."

"And with Leo Lin's explosive ability, he clearly has the advantage in those situations."

Four full minutes passed.

The Bayern medical staff used ice packs and spray repeatedly before finally easing Hummels' pain.

Then came Liverpool's corner kick.

All of Liverpool's aerial threats flooded into the penalty area.

Leo Lin positioned himself near the far post—part of Klopp's corner routine.

Everyone lined up outside the far side of the box.

The moment Mané delivered the corner, they all surged toward goal simultaneously, searching for a header.

Mané's delivery was excellent.

Leo Lin leaped high but only managed to graze the ball slightly with his hair.

It seemed like the chance was gone.

Then—

"THUD!!!"

Wijnaldum, who had only recently regained his starting spot, powered forward.

A lion's header!

He rose above Kimmich and smashed the ball into the net!

"Oh!!!" Derek Rae shouted.

"Oh!!!" Gerrard leaped to his feet in celebration.

"GOAL!!!!"

"A thunderous header!"

"Wijnaldum scores for Liverpool!"

"The aggregate score is level!!!"

"Can you believe it?!"

"This is football!!!"

The moment Wijnaldum scored, nearly every Liverpool player ran toward him with raised arms.

Leo Lin did not.

He simply pumped his fist toward the Liverpool fans, slapped the club crest on his chest, and quickly jogged back toward the halfway line.

Standing in his own half, he remained expressionless.

Chewing gum.

Eyes calm.

Yet filled with a chilling determination.

On the touchline, Krawietz hugged the substitutes tightly while Klopp celebrated with three powerful fist pumps.

The broadcast quickly found Leo Lin again.

Close-up.

The fighting spirit in his eyes almost burst through the screen.

Inside the Sky Sports commentary booth, Gerrard watched him and said with admiration:

"I rarely rate young players this highly."

"But I believe Lin is Liverpool's future captain. At least from what we're seeing now."

"He has an almost obsessive desire to win—and the commanding presence of a true leader."

Liverpool's players quickly returned to their own half after celebrating.

All eleven stood ready for the restart.

Everyone seemed energized by Leo Lin's determination.

Their fighting spirit soared.

"Once the Nine Warriors."

"Now the full starting eleven!"

"If Liverpool never feared Bayern even when it was nine against eleven—how could they fear them now when it's eleven against eleven?"

Anfield erupted.

Red smoke flares ignited.

Even though they were officially banned at the stadium, the fans ignored the rule and lit them anyway to support the team.

The terrifying aura of the Premier League's most feared home ground descended once again.

"You'll Never Walk Alone" echoed across the stadium.

The roar of Liverpool supporters hammered relentlessly into the hearts of every Bayern player.

Leo Lin remained motionless in his position.

Standing tall.

Radiating pure battle intent.

When the camera zoomed in on him, Derek Rae's voice rose with excitement.

"Leo Lin's body language tells us everything."

"He's clearly not satisfied with simply leveling the score."

"This match is only just beginning—and there's still plenty of time left!"

"Bayern Munich's two-goal aggregate advantage has disappeared!"

"And if they don't regain their composure and escape the pressure of Anfield soon…"

"Liverpool may very well take the lead in the tie!"
