Jon Champion immediately began introducing Liverpool's starting lineup.
"Liverpool have made a few adjustments today, especially at the fullback positions."
"Moreno starts at left-back, and Joe Gomez comes in at right-back. Klopp has chosen two defensively stronger fullbacks, clearly wary of Hazard's threat."
"The center-back pairing remains Lovren alongside Matip."
"In goal is the backup keeper Karius. In midfield we have Henderson, Wijnaldum, and Leo Lin—currently Klopp's preferred midfield trio."
"And up front, it's still the Red Arrow trio: Mané, Firmino, and Salah."
"Both teams are about to walk out—this battle is about to begin!"
The live chat exploded with comments, Chelsea fans brimming with confidence.
After a recent winning streak, Chelsea had climbed to third place in the Premier League, firmly holding a Champions League spot and enjoying excellent momentum.
If Liverpool or Manchester City slipped up, Chelsea might even have a chance to join the title race.
"Kanté will prove in this match that he's the strongest midfielder in the Premier League!"
"Like the saying goes—there's no obstacle you can't cross, only Kanté you can't get past!"
"If you've watched Kanté this season, you'll know what a true ball-winning midfielder looks like!"
Both starting lineups walked onto the pitch.
Leo Lin followed at the back of Liverpool's line. Just to his right stood the small but energetic Kanté, the Frenchman staring at him with a goofy, good-natured grin.
Referee Martin Atkinson signaled to the goalkeepers and assistant referees to get ready. After confirming everything was in order, he blew the whistle to start the match.
"Beep!!!"
"And we're underway!"
"Welcome everyone to the FA Cup fifth-round knockout match—Chelsea hosting Liverpool!"
"Chelsea kick things off, playing it back to Fabregas."
"Out to the right side now, Moses pushing forward with the ball."
"He sweeps it centrally to Hazard. The Belgian controls it, turns—so agile!"
"A feint past the defender—beautiful! He's through!"
"Wijnaldum beaten, Henderson comes across and commits the foul!"
"Henderson nudged Hazard aside from the side. Klopp is protesting—he doesn't think it's a foul. The referee gives Henderson a verbal warning, and Chelsea win an early free kick in the attacking third."
Stamford Bridge instantly came alive.
Hazard's sharp dribble had the crowd mesmerized.
Hazard stepped up to take the free kick himself, but he couldn't keep it down. The ball sailed high over the bar and straight into the Liverpool supporters' section.
Play resumed.
Chelsea were playing very proactively—this was their home ground.
Liverpool, meanwhile, dropped deeper, slowing the tempo and setting up their midfield-focused chain defense.
11th minute!
"Chelsea controlling the ball in midfield. Leo Lin doesn't rush the press."
"Fabregas sends a diagonal long pass toward the right flank. Marcos Alonso cushions it with the inside of his ankle—excellent first touch."
"He shapes to pass—but actually wants to dribble past!"
"Joe Gomez reads it perfectly!"
Gomez wins the ball and immediately plays it into midfield.
Henderson receives it and looks to pass back—but Hazard rushes in from behind and steals it!
Chelsea win the ball high up the pitch.
Giroud holds off Lovren with his back to goal.
Hazard plays a short pass to Giroud, who lays it off sideways without taking a touch, setting up Hazard for the shot.
The Belgian steps forward and unleashes a powerful low drive toward goal!
Karius reacts sharply, diving sideways to push the ball away!
"Excellent save! Karius makes sure it doesn't slip through."
"Chelsea's attacking play has been impressive. They've repeatedly used Giroud's hold-up play combined with Hazard's sharp dribbling to create quick one-two combinations and shooting chances."
"Meanwhile Liverpool have willingly surrendered possession early on, sitting deep and relying on their chain defense."
This was Klopp's tactical plan.
He intended to divide the match into three phases.
For the first 25 minutes of the first half, Liverpool would focus entirely on defending. Data showed Chelsea had scored within the opening 25 minutes in 80% of their last five matches.
After analyzing the statistics, Klopp decided on a strategy of patience first, attack later—hold firm defensively for 25 minutes, then launch their counterattack in the final 20 minutes of the half.
19th minute!
Chelsea built another attack from midfield.
Bakayoko's long legs poked the ball away from Wijnaldum and passed it to Fabregas.
The playmaking master delivered a precise through ball that sliced through the defense, finding Moses making a run forward.
Moses whipped a powerful cross across the middle!
Giroud arrived and shot first time—but it was too central, and Karius gathered it comfortably.
Gasps erupted again and again around Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea kept creating danger but still couldn't find the breakthrough.
"At the moment, the rhythm of the match is clearly under Chelsea's control."
"Chelsea's three-man midfield has been excellent—Kanté covering ground and making interceptions, Fabregas acting as the playmaker, and Bakayoko providing balance and protection behind them."
Chelsea fans were thrilled.
This was exactly the kind of performance they wanted to see.
"This is the real Chelsea. We don't need to fear anyone."
"As a neutral fan, I have to say Chelsea have been excellent so far. Their three-center-back system is extremely flexible, and their movement is very sharp."
"Wijnaldum simply can't get past Kanté one-on-one. Henderson is dropping deeper to help defend against Hazard while blocking Fabregas' central passing lanes—but Chelsea can still create chances down the wings."
Fans were still debating enthusiastically when Chelsea launched another attack.
But suddenly Liverpool looked like a completely different team.
The midfield began pressing higher.
The entire formation pushed forward.
And the tempo increased.
Most notably, Leo Lin shifted from a central midfielder's movement into an attacking midfielder's positioning.
36th minute!
"Chelsea building again through Fabregas in midfield."
"Leo Lin charges in—aggressive press, tremendous speed!"
"He wins the ball! Muscles Fabregas aside and launches the counterattack!"
Kanté immediately rushed in to challenge, slamming into him from the side in his trademark tackle.
But the next second—
Leo Lin drove his shoulder forward as well, meeting him head-on and powering Kanté aside!
Kanté's low center of gravity usually made him extremely stable.
Yet this time, Leo Lin's strength knocked him stumbling away.
Fabregas tried to recover the ball from behind.
Leo Lin flicked his ankle lightly.
With a delicate touch—
He nutmegged Fabregas!
"Whoa!!!"
The crowd gasped.
Leo Lin shrugged off Fabregas and burst forward with the ball. He was about to break into the penalty area when Bakayoko knew he had no choice.
He grabbed Leo Lin's jersey.
Fabregas also reached from behind and pulled him down.
"Beep!!!"
"Foul! The referee shows Bakayoko a yellow card!"
But the moment the whistle blew, a confrontation erupted.
Even after the foul was called, Bakayoko still refused to let go of Leo Lin's shirt.
Leo Lin immediately slapped his hand away.
Bakayoko pointed at Leo Lin's nose and began shouting angrily.
Leo Lin didn't move an inch.
He simply stood there.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
His face was full of disdain.
His eyes filled with contempt.
Leo Lin stared straight at Bakayoko—and instantly pushed him into full rage mode.
Bakayoko completely lost his composure.
Fabregas quickly pulled him away to stop him from picking up a second yellow card and getting sent off.
Jon Champion burst out laughing.
"Hahaha!"
"This is Leo Lin!"
"This is exactly who he is!"
"He powers past Kanté, nutmegs Fabregas, and bursts forward. Just when he's about to break through, Bakayoko and Moses drag him down to stop the attack."
"And when Bakayoko starts shouting after losing his temper, Leo Lin's look of complete disdain immediately sends him into a rage!"
Jon Champion was clearly enjoying it.
He loved Leo Lin's attitude.
"Before this match, Chelsea fans were saying their midfield iron triangle would completely shut Leo Lin down."
"But Leo Lin just delivered a warning shot."
"That look of contempt—that mocking smile—it's like a direct response to every doubter."
"I don't care if you're the Premier League's number-one ball-winner!"
"I don't care if you're the playmaking master Fabregas!"
"I don't care if you're the powerhouse Bakayoko!"
"I don't care about any of that!"
"Just remember one thing—my name is Leo Lin!"
"As long as I'm on the pitch, I'm not afraid of anyone!"
Leo Lin's scornful expression pushed Bakayoko into fury.
But at that very moment, the entire Stamford Bridge crowd was on edge as well.
Because this was a free kick in a perfect position.
And Leo Lin, his face cold and focused, was already standing over the ball—ready to take it.
