The leather-bound book began bristling again, its pages fanning out like the feathers of an agitated bird.
"And what would truly change if you were to learn of that part earlier? It was not as if you had any other options. You were quite thoroughly dead."
"Well..." Hermi grumbled, "at the very least he could have restored me completely whole. Look at what a mess I am."
