Chapter 333: Rule Repurposing
Regardless of the logic, the students were undeniably jubilant.
Compared to the "Redundant Human Unit" version of Bochi-sensei from earlier,
they vastly preferred this hyper-energetic, high-output iteration.
"Yay! Go, Bochi-sensei!" "Teach us the Ultimate Briefs Formation!" "Sensei is
the highest-tier mentor!"
With Bochi's mental parameters restored, the classroom was once again filled
with the chaotic music of laughter and chattering. The slime scurried across the
blackboard, sketching intricate tactical diagrams with a tiny tentacle, its
voice a blur of manic instruction.
"Observe the geometry!" "This maneuver is designated the [Double-Briefs
Intersecting Counter-Kill Formation]!" "I achieved the tactical realization for
this move while being kneaded into a pancake by the Master! It is a breakthrough
in stress-logic!"
Lloyd and Rosen stood at the rear of the classroom, watching the revitalized
slime. Both wore the smug, satisfied smiles of administrators who had
successfully executed a "Manipulation Maneuver."
This was the core of their strategy: avoid being press-ganged into service as
the slime's permanent assistants.
Lloyd leaned in, whispering to Rosen. "It appears the 'Incentive Protocol' was
effective. Now we possess the bandwidth to focus on the new teacher-training
modules."
"Mmh. The juvenile unit is easy to redirect," Rosen nodded. "Regrettably, the
'Sustenance-Lure' was unavailable due to the Sovereign's ban, or the recruitment
would have been even simpler."
They shared a moment of professional mutual respect for the blue mascot they
collectively managed—a relationship defined by a high-tier mix of affection and
exasperation. Bochi was the only student to ever receive an instructor's
contract before graduation, a statistical anomaly they frequently had to clean
up after.
Mentioning sustenance caused Lloyd's expression to turn slightly apprehensive.
"However..."
"If the 'Carrot Protocol' persists for too long... do you project he will
initiate an unauthorized extraction to seek sweets?"
Rosen's brow-ridges knit together. "The probability is non-zero. His obsession
with glucose is a known constant."
"We must adjust the schedule. Delay the teacher-training. We need to maintain a
constant vigil on him. Load his itinerary with extra interest-group sessions and
advanced students."
"As long as Bochi's processing power is saturated by the curriculum, he will
lack the mental bandwidth to calculate a dessert-heist."
The two exchanged a gaze of grave structural caution. Lloyd rubbed his chin,
letting out a tactical sigh. "If the pressure drops, we shall utilize the
Sovereign's name again. For the sake of the Academy's stability, the Master
surely won't mind a few... 'Narrative Optimizations'."
They sent up a silent mental prayer that the slime would remain within
established parameters until Kaito's return.
Meanwhile, in the Eldritch Realm.
Kaito stood before the shimmering Plane Core. Suddenly, he performed a sharp,
involuntary jolt.
Achoo!
Kaito rubbed his nasal bone. "Peculiar. Can an Undead experience a sneezing
reflex?"
He paused, then gave a dismissive click of his jaw. "Irrelevant. Proceed with
the primary objective."
Kaito returned his focus to the silver orb of the Plane Core. He had already
finalized the grand design. He would repurpose these "Rule-Based Scenarios" into
high-capacity entertainment infrastructure for the Evernight Empire.
It would be fun. It would be educational. And it would double as a training
theater for the Legions.
"Mmh... let's commence with the basic modules."
Kaito performed a data-sweep of the various Instances archived within the Core.
"The [Midnight Transit Bus] instance. Acceptable parameters." "Repurposing:
Evernight Imperial Sightseeing Coach. Passengers can audit the scenery of
various annexed Planes while receiving a mandatory lecture on Imperial History."
"The [Spooky Ward] hospital scenario." "Repurposing: Imperial Emergency Response
Training Center. A sector where the Cathedral Sisters can practice high-pressure
triage and curse-neutralization."
"And the [Haunted Estate]..." "Repurposing: Evernight 'Horror-Tier' Theme Park.
Maintain the atmospheric tension, but delete the 'Terminal Liquidation' risk."
Kaito grew increasingly excited as he worked. His soulfire pulsed with a rapid
frequency. The plan was statistically perfect! It resolved the Anomaly Problem
while simultaneously launching a new sector of the Imperial economy.
A dual win-condition.
"Directives set!"
Kaito began the manual override of the Plane Core. He waved his bony hand,
injecting threads of his own Law into the silver sphere. Under his Authority,
the chaotic, lethal logic of the Scourge began to reorganize into a structured,
entertaining system.
Death-Traps were modified into Challenge Gates. Psychological Horrors were tuned
into Thrill Experiences. Mandatory Summons were transitioned to Voluntary
Enrollment.
"Satisfactory," Kaito nodded, watching the grey light turn a stable, orderly
silver.
"Once the beta-test concludes, I'll have Greed initiate a trial-run. If the
'Joy-Rating' is high, we'll initiate a global rollout."
"Imperial entertainment metrics will reach a new plateau."
His mood was excellent. He prepared to exit the Core-Space, but paused as a
data-log surfaced in his mind.
"By the way... the brat."
"He should be fulfilling his contract at the Academy currently."
"I wonder if his pedagogical output is meeting the Sovereign's standards."
Evernight Academy.
Bochi was currently vibrating with an intensity that bordered on a
Mana-overload, screaming at his class.
"STUDENTS!"
"This maneuver is designated: [The Sovereign's
Majestic-Dominating-Heavenly-Invincible Formation]!"
"I engineered this pattern personally as a tribute to the Master's providence!"
"Once this coordinate is anchored, the opponent perceives the sheer grandeur of
the Sovereign! Within the Shadow of this move, as long as you vocalize the
designation, victory is a statistical certainty!"
The students stared in total, stunned confusion.
"Sensei... that designation is excessively long." "Is this... actually a tactic?
It sounds like common sycophancy." "And winning by shouting a name feels...
un-optimized?"
Bochi ignored the feedback. He had only one logic-loop running in his core:
Provide Peak Performance! Show the Master I am an 'Excellent Unit'! Trigger the
'Pardon-Protocol'! Restore liquid assets! Restore sweets! Restore liberty!
Hope shimmered in the slime's black eyes.
Fight on, Bochi! The cheesecake is waiting at the finish line!
Outside the window, Lloyd and Rosen watched the manic blue blob.
"Should we inform him that the 'Pardon-Protocol' was a fabrication?" Lloyd asked
softly.
"Logic?"
"Well... we basically wrote that dialogue ourselves. The Sovereign issued no
such decree."
Rosen was silent for three seconds. "Negative."
"Why?"
"Because," Rosen watched Bochi's joyous bouncing. "Sometimes, a 'Benevolent
Logic Error' is a form of kindness. And look at his kinetic output—he's never
been this efficient."
"It is a superior use of his energy."
Lloyd thought for a moment, then gave a slow nod. "Your assessment holds. Let
the illusion persist."
"We haven't lied. We've simply... provided a 'Lure' for his growth."
The two administrators shared a quiet, professional smile and turned to leave
the hallway. Inside the room, Bochi continued his lecture, his small blue frame
shimmering brilliantly in the afternoon sun.
The future God of Slimes was working harder than he ever had in his life. All
for a cake that didn't exist.
