Chapter 115 - Aftermath

Alone, I stayed through the night inside what remained of my shattered apartment.

Statements came first. Snapshots followed. One cruiser carried Daniel off, another pulled Jayce down the street. A badge handed over a number, then some paper on help they said I might need. Dust settled around me after they drove away.

I didn't sleep.

There I stayed, planted on the couch that hadn't been touched, eyes locked on the lamp lying in pieces. A jagged line split the wall apart. My gaze drifted to the dark stain near where meals used to be made.

That moment made me reflect on my actions. What came next stayed with me. My choices weighed heavy then. Thinking back now feels different somehow.

This was my doing. One man fought, then another joined in. Jails took them both away. Because I stood right there.

I stayed stuck, unable to pick a side. Commitment felt impossible back then. Both remained close, though tension built quietly - until one day it exploded into a real clash.
