Falling from the sky, I notice specks of people fairly far out, as for the most part, teammates are teleported to each other once they get transported. As our team falls closer and closer to the ground, we note that we are in the plains biome of the arena, where there are around 40 or... more kyveasts nearby. A few seconds later, Sinen and Asanuma finally land nearby, and I head over to them.
"Sinen, Asanuma, you both alright?"
As the two girls get up, Sinen looks around, as Asamuna already looks ready for a fight.
Sinen comes up to me, dragging Asanuma so she doesn't go fighting alone, looking around at the nearby Kyveasts, "Well, basically, there are only really two ways we can go about doing this. We can either sit and wait for 500 other players to fail, or we could just go out and wipe out players until 500 others fail."
Thinking for a second, I take note of how many biomes I could at least see from where I was in the sky. "Well, from what I gathered from in the sky, there's at least 4 other biomes nearby, without knowing how big the area for the royale is, I'd say there's at least 100 or more players around us, and with that—"
Asanuma, who had been growing impatient with us strategizing, got up and simply yelled, "COME ON, MAN! IT'S OBVIOUS WHAT WE SHOULD DO AND JUST FIGHT—"
I quickly stepped over to Asanuma, covering her mouth, trying not to let the nearby Kyvbeasts hear her and rush towards us.
"Asanuma, I know you want to fight, but at the very least, let's be more... quiet?" I uncover her mouth, "We at least figure out what we are going to do before we—"
The sound of a loud rumbling, along with roars, coming from some hills behind us, cuts us off.
None of us moved. I moved my hand to my sword, listening to the rumbling grow closer to us... Sinen starts to draw her sword as I do the same. Minutes pass as the rumbling stays stagnant... It's getting closer, the question is when will they come over— and how many of them will there be?
Suddenly, the rumbling becomes constant, and louder, a thump...thump..thump.thump just getting louder and louder, then—
Around 4 large, humanlike kyveasts rush towards us, probably mimicking the people in the area to look more human. Rushing towards us with extreme speed.
I sigh as we pull out our weapons completely, as Asanuma, along with Sinen, get on my sides.
"Well, I was hoping NOT to fight anything unless absolutely necessary, but since they are here now... let's get started. Shall we?"
I look at Sinen and Asanuma, signaling them to go for one. As we all nod, we dash towards them. Sinen goes for the one on the right, Asanuma goes for the one on the left, while I go for the two in the middle.
Pulling out my mother's sword, I imbue it with blood kyvina. As the sword turns red, I slash down the middle of one of the beast's arms, as they send out vines from my free hand to stop the others' claws.
Noticing the beast's kyvina cores are in their heads, looking back at the other two, Sinen is mostly on the defensive, using ice to block attacks while using frost to slowly wear it down.
Asanuma is going blow-for-blow with her beast; they're equally matched in strength, but the beast is also getting burned by her flames.
"THEIR CORES ARE LOCATED INSIDE THEIR HEADS! BREAK THOSE AND THE MAIN BODY CAN'T REGENERATE!"
The two nod before continuing their fight as I use Enhancement Magic on myself to grab one beast by the hand before using blood from my forearm to bind our arms together, but as I'm about to slice its head off, the other comes in and grabs me by my back, throwing me into the grass as I roll backwards, as a i regain my surrounding, i use vines to stop myself mid roll and roll myself to get back onto my feet.
Dashing back at the two beasts, I use one of by abilites; Natures Vines: Bloodlet, covering my vines in slightly hardened blood, I use it to pierce into one of the beasts as I throw my sword at its head, embueing enhancement magic into it to increase its speed midair, as it bursts thought its head, the slime-like matter the beast was made of bursts from its head as the core breaks into shards.
While the other beast is stunned from the shockwave, I look behind me at Sinen, who froze their beasts before shattering the whole thing, including the core. Meanwhile, Asanuma is covered in slime, bashing in the head of the beast she was fighting, while the core is almost dust-like.
While I'm distracted, the other beast bashes its fist into the back of my head as I get sent flying across the field, getting knocked unconscious for a few seconds before waking up.
Asanuma runs over, while Sinen slows it down with ice. "Leon! You alright!"
Touching my forehead, besides some bleeding and some cuts, there didn't seem to be any serious injuries. "Yeah, I'm alright, just some cuts and minor injuries—"
Midway while i was talking, Asauma got on her knees as a reddish and green aura came from her horns, as my wounds started... healing? Normally, Demon-Folk aren't able to use healing magic, but for some reason, Asanuma can, must have something to do with her unique appearance or something .
"Healing magic, huh?" I chuckle slightly, seeing asanuma all worried and such.
Asanuma, slightly embarrassed from my laughing, "I try to hide the fact that I use healing magic because I'm a demon and all, be lucky! I could've just let you bleed out and die."
As Asanuma finishes healing me, I stand up as Sinen looks back at us, "Took you more than long enough! Mind helping me out?"
Asanuma and I dash towards the beast as Sinen freezes its feet, immobilizing it. It tries catching Asanuma off with a right hook, but I use vines to subdue its arm as I slice its head off as it goes flying into the air.
Asanuma grounded herself before launching into the air, saying "⎓ꖎᔑᒲmaa a∷↸ᒷリℸ ̣╎ᓭ, s!¡arꖌ and ʖla⨅e" ("Flammaa ardentis, spark and blaze"). As flames come from her arms, she fires at the beast's severed head, as its head, along with the crystal, gets reduced to ash.
As we all regroup, we all fall to the ground, tired.
Sinen puts her sword to the side, smiling slightly, "Well, I guess I could say that was... fun."
Asanuma Chuckles slightly as she gets the remaining slime off anywhere important, "Did you see the way Leon made the one beast's head EXPLODE! It was like BOOM!"
I close my eyes as I start to drift asleep, "At least we survived, hopefully there's more in store for us tomorrow."
As the sun starts to set, we look up at the stars as the announcement for the first day of the battle royal comes to an end.
