The temple did not greet the setting sun with warmth, for its stones held no memory of light as comfort, only as witness, the fading glow stretching across broken pillars and ancient carvings like a final breath that dared not linger.

Deep within its hollowed heart, where time had long forgotten to move as men understood it, something stirred with a presence that pressed against the very fabric of silence, bending it, reshaping it into something alive.

The air trembled faintly, not with sound but with recognition, as though the world itself had begun to remember a name it had tried too long to bury beneath ages of dust and ruin.

Cracks ran through the stone floor in thin, deliberate lines, spreading outward from a single point where darkness gathered thicker than shadow, heavier than absence.

"…freedom," a voice whispered.

It was not loud.

Yet it filled everything.

The darkness pulsed.

Slow.
