Chapter 84 - Frustration

Keifer POV:

It's been one week, and I'm still trying to find out who called Keazir that day.

Nothing is making sense.

The company is a mess, Keazir is still causing problems, and now Ram has started sending threats too.

My head feels like it's about to explode.

"I'm so tired..." I muttered, taking a sip of my coffee.

I looked at the mountain of files on my desk.

"And I still have all this to finish."

I sighed and started working again.

"Keifer, I wanna talk to you."

I looked up and saw Jay walking toward me.

"Yes, baby?" I asked, still looking at the file.

She stood in front of my desk for a few seconds.

"I... had a nightmare."

That made me stop.

I put the file down and looked at her properly.

"Nightmare?"

She nodded.

I reached for her hand.

"Come here. What happened?"

Jay sat beside me and took a deep breath.

"It was about the baby."

I frowned.

"The baby?"

She nodded again.

"In my dream, I was holding the baby in my arms. She was so tiny..."

A small smile appeared on her face for a second.

"I was playing with her. She was smiling at me, and I was laughing..."

Then her smile disappeared.

"But suddenly, she disappeared."

I stayed quiet.

"I looked down at my hands and..." She swallowed. "They were covered in blood."

Her eyes became teary.

I immediately held both her hands.

"Jay, look at me."

She looked at me.

"It was only a nightmare."

"But it felt so real, Keifer."

"I know."

I gently rubbed her fingers.

"But nothing happened. The baby wasn't real, and you're safe. That's what matters."

She nodded.

"Don't think about it too much, okay? You're probably stressed too."

"Okay..."

I kissed her forehead.

"And if you get another nightmare, wake me up."

She looked at me.

"Even if it's three in the morning?"

"Even if it's five in the morning."

She smiled a little.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

She nodded and left.

I watched her go before looking back at my files.

"At least she's smiling now."

---

At Evening...

By evening, my mood had somehow become even worse.

My phone wouldn't stop ringing.

One call from the company.

Another message from Ram.

Then another problem with the files.

I rubbed my temples.

"Honey, I told you to check these files!"

Honey looked at me with an annoyed face.

"I was checking them!"

"Then why are they still here?"

"Because I'm not a magician, Keifer!"

I stared at her.

She stared back.

Then she suddenly threw the file on my desk.

"Do it yourself!"

She walked away with a pout.

I sighed.

"Great. Now Honey is angry too."

I picked up the file and continued working.

After hours of work, I finally went to our room.

The moment I opened the door, I heard Jay laughing.

I raised an eyebrow.

"What are you laughing at?"

She quickly locked her phone.

"Nothing."

I narrowed my eyes.

"Jay."

She tried not to laugh.

"It's really nothing."

I walked closer.

"Give me the phone."

"No!"

"Jay..."

She finally gave it to me, still giggling.

I looked at the screen.

It was Honey's story.

And there was a picture of me looking extremely serious.

The caption said:

**" Villan boss " **

I stared at the picture.

Then at Jay.

Then back at the picture.

"This girl..."

Jay couldn't control her laughter anymore.

"Look at your face!"

"I always look like this."

"Exactly! That's why it's funny!"

I shook my head.

"Both of you are impossible."

Jay smiled.

"But you love me ."

I looked at her.

"Unfortunately."

She gasped dramatically.

"Excuse me?!"

I laughed and pulled her into my arms before she could hit me.

"Come here, drama queen."

She rested her head against my chest.

"You're still angry?"

"Not anymore."

"Good."

She smiled.

I kissed her forehead.

"Now stop laughing at my picture."

"No promises."

I rolled my eyes.

That night, we fell asleep while holding each other.

---

The Next Morning...

My morning started badly.

Another message from Ram.

Another threat.

I clenched my phone.

"This guy really doesn't know when to stop."

"Keifer?"

I looked up.

Jay was standing near the bed.

"What?"

She hesitated.

"I had that nightmare again."

I closed my eyes for a moment.

"Jay..."

"The same one. I was holding the baby and then she suddenly disappeared..."

I was already frustrated.

"Jay, it's just a nightmare."

"But Keifer, I can't stop thinking about it."

"I told you yesterday not to think about it!"

"I know, but—"

"Jay, please!"

She went quiet.

My frustration finally took over.

"You're overreacting! It was just a fake baby! It wasn't even real!"

The room became completely silent.

I immediately regretted it.

Jay looked at me.

But instead of getting angry, she simply nodded.

"You're right."

Her voice was so quiet that it hurt more.

"I shouldn't keep bothering you."

She turned around.

"You already have enough problems."

"Jay..."

She walked away.

I stood there, staring at the floor.

"Idiot."

I ran a hand through my hair.

"Why did I say that?"

I quickly followed her.

"Jay, wait."

She stopped but didn't turn around.

I gently held her hand.

"I'm sorry."

She shook her head.

"No, it's okay."

"It's not okay."

She finally looked at me.

"I shouldn't have shouted at you."

Her eyes were already filling with tears.

"I know you're stressed because of Ram and the company. I'm sorry I keep troubling you with my stupid nightmares."

"Hey..."

She wiped her own tears.

"I'm sorry, Keifer. I know you're busy and—"

"Stop saying sorry."

"But—"

I pulled her into my arms.

She immediately started crying against my chest.

My heart sank.

"Baby, I'm the one who should be sorry."

She held my shirt tightly.

"I shouldn't have said that. I know the baby wasn't real, but that doesn't mean your fear isn't real."

She sniffled.

"I'm sorry."

I kissed the top of her head.

"You don't have to be sorry for being scared."

She looked up at me with teary eyes.

"So... you're not angry?"

"At you? Never."

"Even if I tell you about the nightmare again?"

I smiled.

"Even if you tell me about it ten times."

She gave me a tiny smile.

"Twenty times?"

I sighed dramatically.

"Okay, twenty."

She giggled through her tears.

"Thirty?"

"Jay!"

She laughed and hugged me again.

I smiled and held her tightly.

"Now that's my girl."

She looked at me.

"I love you."

I kissed her forehead.

"I love you too."

And just like that, the heavy feeling in my chest became a little lighter.

Ram could wait.

The company could wait.

For now, I just wanted to hold my girl.

Guys tell me how's the chapter pls comment

I'm really sorry, guys. I know I haven't been posting on my books for the past few days.

Honestly, the reason is that I kind of lost interest in writing. I don't even know why, but I just haven't been feeling motivated lately.

But I'm still trying my best to write and finish the book as soon as I can.

Thank you so much for being patient with me and supporting my stories. It really means a lot to me.
