(IRIA)
All around us were dead bodies hanged from trees. Every single one was smiling or frozen in a position to hug someone. The monsters leapt from the trees. I dodged a few with their long claws and some grazed my arms. The boy was no where to be seen and Ambrose summoned more shadow wolves to fight. Those wolves were too cute, if you ask me. One sped past me and dismantled one figure. Black goo splattered on the ground. Ew. I froze one tree and hit it and it shattered onto five monsters. But there still was too many. Then something dark was moving fast through the trees. It landed in the middle of the area. It was the boy. All of a sudden he slammed his fist into the dirt. Bones sprang out and created full skeletons. Each had a weapon of some sort. They ran into each monster and they turned to dust.
The boy ran into the forest. Ambrose went running after him. All I heard was a crashing sound, squealing, and something being thrown? He was dragging him out the forest by his hood. "Who are you?" He rubbed his head. "Marcus. Marcus Amajiki."
"Do you know what just happened, Marcus?" I say gently so he wouldn't get scared or intimidated. "Not really. But I've seen the monsters before. I saw them in a dream." A dream? I have had weird dreams myself but nothing relatively close to that. "Did you see anything else?"
"I saw a woman. She was reaching for something. Someone. " That sounds really freaky. I help him up. He has an adorable expression if you ask me. He kinda looks like a puppy.
"I think I know what they are." Ambrose says looking grim at the dead bodies hanging. "They're called Mourners. But they shouldn't exist."
"Mourners? That doesn't sound good. "
"Yeah. They're tied to the Calimity called The Weeping Queen." Marcus inserts. We both look at him surprised. "So are you guys going to arrest me or not?"
"Well actually, we're not." Ambrose looks at me." What do you mean?"
"I mean he isn't the problem and he could help us with this." Ambrose looks at Marcus for a few seconds. I watch very closely in his eyes. He doesn't look even angry- maybe a bit irritated but I see a slight softness. Adorable. "Fine."
We travel down the dark forest. Animals are active now, prancing and jumping around. "How do animals live here if there's no light?" Ambrose pulls out a book titled "Fantastic Superific Beasts of The Magical World!". He flips to one page that shows nocturnal creatures. I feel amazed while Marcus looks unfazed and keeps walking. "That makes so much sense now." I say walking faster to catch up with the two.
"So, Marcus. . ." He gives me a tired look combined with his adorable face. "How do your powers work?" He looks slightly shy when I say that. "It's complicated."
(MARCUS)
Kinda prying to ask that question, if you ask me. I keep walking. I try to remember my reason for even coming along. I don't think I have one, but it beats crashing out on a piece of paper. But I really don't know how my powers work. "I don't know. "I say softly. She gives me a reassuring pat on the back. I flinch. She moves away worried. "You okay?" I nod and keep walking. I see lights up ahead. I walk a bit faster. Then it becomes clearer.
I see a glowing village with big houses and buildings. Wow.
Iria rushes past me to a villager nearby. "Hello sir. Can you tell us if you've seen anything like weird around here?" She says in a sweet tone, or her normal tone I'm guessing. The man gives her no attention and walks off. Ambrose grabs him by the shoulder. "Hey asshole!" The man glares at him. "What, brat? I haven't seen anything weird other than you kids." Ambrose lets go and mutters something under his breath. We walk further into the village. A big wooden plack says "Shimmer Town". Weird. I thought we were still in Astral Village territory. That's good on my part. So nobody knows me. Who I am. What I am.
The village looks bright physically, but it looked dark in the atmosphere around. Ambrose still was hard to see with his hood on. I craned me beck to see and he gave me a weird glare. I looked forward immediately, embarrassed.
I heard loud wailing. A baby was pointing at a house and clinging tightly onto its mother. I looked forward. That scene felt hurtful to watch. Did I ever do that with my mother?
Stay focused Marcus.
But I can't anymore.

She has long black hair with blonde streaks like me. Her dress blows as she runs in field to me. Joyous giggles fill me up. Grass tickles my chin. The sky is pitch black as always. Some stars shine brighter than others.

The baby's wailing gets louder. I turn to see a black figure that slightly resembles a spider racing to us. I hear loud cries and screams. My ears seem to stop working. All I can do is watch.
Iria and Ambrose are no where to be seen. I fall to the ground. Running people step on me and hit me trying to leave.
Blood splashes around. I feel nothing. Not anymore.
I feel rumbling. The spider is no more than yards away. Is this how I die? Or is this a messed up dream?
Ambrose grabs my arm and drags me away from it in seconds.
The spider crashes into a house instead of me. I see that his hood is off. Probably from running. He has red hair in a small ponytail and radient yellow eyes. Iria runs along with us. She puts her palms to the ground and creates a slice ice road. Ambrose lets go of me and shoves me forward. FUCK.
