That crisp, electronically synthesized notification sound rang out abruptly in the deathly silent corridor, carrying a strange echo that shattered the stagnant air of blood and fear.

Noah and Claire's gazes instantly bypassed Etienne, who was struggling to prop himself up against the wall, and locked onto the matte black bar counter at the end of the hall. A new email. The "Guide" seemed to savor this cat-and-mouse game, daggling fresh bait just as they reached a breaking point.

Noah didn't move immediately. He watched Etienne—watched how fear acted as a more potent stimulant than any drug. When the shadow of death looms, exhausted muscles find one last reservoir of potential. Claire walked forward and handed Etienne a bottle of water.

"Rinse your mouth," she said softly, her calmness acting as an anchor.

Etienne took the bottle with hands that shook so violently the water splashed against the plastic. He didn't drink; he mechanically rinsed the bitter bile from his mouth. Only when a faint trace of color returned to his face did Noah turn toward the laptop.

On the IBM ThinkPad, the scrolling code had vanished, replaced by a massive window. The sender was the familiar garbled string. As Noah and Claire scanned the text, their breathing grew heavy.

[To the explorers going deeper: It seems the appetizers weren't a trouble. Mr. Noah, your fighting is... more violent than the data suggested. A pleasant surprise. Since you are ready for the train to Hell, I shall introduce the 'scenery.']

The email detailed the Umbrella Paris Branch's unholy trinity of research: t-virus, Nemesis Program, and the NE-Alpha Parasite.

[t-virus: Here, it has achieved a breakthrough. By fusing the Progenitor strain with special leeches, they created a 'catalyst' for perfect biological weapons. The Tyrant series is a masterpiece here—high intelligence, absolute cruelty, and near-infinite recovery.]

The image of the trench-coated stalker from Raccoon City flashed in their minds. To think that nightmare was just "one of the masterpieces" here.

[Nemesis Program & NE-Alpha: Their pride. They aim to create a BOW with a 'Soul.' The NE-Alpha parasite invades a Tyrant's brain, granting it the intelligence to understand orders and the obsession to hunt. It turns destruction into art.]

Noah's pupils contracted. This wasn't just data; it was a prophecy of a future more desperate than Raccoon City.

[Colonel Henry Durand, the base commander, is conducting his own crazier experiments. Umbrella's management is not stopping him; they are indulging him. Beware of the madman.]

Noah scrolled down. An encrypted map decompressed, revealing a structure like a giant tree growing upside down into the earth. At the top was the Palais Garnier. A red line plunged two kilometers down to a complex honeycomb: The Paris Underground Headquarters—"The Hive."

Claire's breath hitched. Her finger tapped a marked area on the screen. The name made the temperature in the room feel sub-zero: "Children's Paradise Area."

Noah looked back at Etienne, the walking corpse. "It looks like your family is there."

Claire nodded, her jaw set with determination. The map further divided the Hive into the t-Virus Breakthrough Zone, NE-Alpha Incubation Nest, and the Nemesis Fusion Chamber. At the very bottom sat a pitch-black core labeled: [UNKNOWN_AREA].

[This area likely connects to a backup escape passage. If you make it alive.]

At the very bottom, the tone shifted to something personal.

[Noah, Claire. If you return, I will use all resources to secure Sherry Birkin's adoption rights. The legal documents will be flawless. No one will ever target that child again. —T]

It was Trant. He was offering them the one thing they wanted most: a future for Sherry.

Noah took a deep breath, the smell of blood and ozone clearing his head. He found a pen and paper in the lounge and meticulously hand-drew the map of the Hive, his lines precise and rapid.

"The Unknown Area is our exit," he muttered.

A few minutes later, he folded the map into his jacket and closed the laptop. He walked back to Etienne and handed him the heavy computer case.

"You can just tag along for the ride," Noah said.

Etienne looked up, confused. "Tag along? What does that mean?"

Claire offered a faint, reassuring smile. "It means you only need to take care of yourself, Etienne. Just make sure you survive."
