Chapter 93 - Pain, Pain, Fly Away~

Having finished her bath in the bathroom, Yukinoshita Shizuku changed into her pajamas and walked back to the living room. Tsushima Kagami had also long since dried himself off and changed into a set of dry clothes.

He poured the brewed ginger soup into a cup and handed it to Yukinoshita Shizuku. Then, picking up a cup for himself, he walked over to the sofa on the side and sat down. After accepting the ginger soup, Yukinoshita Shizuku also walked over to Tsushima Kagami's side. Holding the hot cup of ginger tea with both hands, she sat down.

Outside the window, the wind and rain had not ceased. The faint sounds of the storm beating against the windows and billboards could still be heard, yet Yukinoshita Shizuku felt incredibly at peace in this moment.

Yukinoshita Shizuku took small sips of the ginger soup, then suddenly looked up at Tsushima Kagami.

"That umbrella... was one I liked very much. It has been with me since I was very young."

Tsushima Kagami also took a sip of the ginger soup. Whether because it was too hot, too awful-tasting, or perhaps both, he stuck out his tongue with a look of disgust before replying.

"Sorry... I'll buy you a new one."

The ribs of that umbrella had been completely blown out of shape. He had taken a special look at it when they returned; several ribs were broken, so it was definitely unusable. He just hadn't expected it to be so important to Yukinoshita Shizuku.

"No need," Yukinoshita Shizuku said, putting down her tea cup, her tone calm. "I was just feeling a bit of regret. Out with the old, in with the new."

"Well, aren't you ruthless."

Saying this, Tsushima Kagami also put down his tea cup, walked to the entryway, and brought over the deformed umbrella.

"It's just broken, not lost. It can be restored to its original state if fixed."

Tsushima Kagami inspected the umbrella's frame again, then looked at Yukinoshita Shizuku.

Yukinoshita Shizuku continued to speak calmly. "Even if it's restored to its original state, it can't be used in the rain anymore, right?"

"Then do you think it's better to keep it by your side where you can still see it, or to treat it as trash on garbage collection day tomorrow and throw it away, never to see it again?"

Yukinoshita Shizuku tilted her head.

"Then it's better to be able to see it."

"Then that settles it." Tsushima Kagami laughed.

"Then, if something breaks normally, do you keep it instead of disposing of it?" Yukinoshita Shizuku asked in return.

Tsushima Kagami thought for a moment.

"It depends on the situation. After all, some things do carry many memories, or perhaps I've long grown accustomed to their existence. Even if they can no longer be used, I'll still preserve them carefully."

"You really are a nostalgic person." Yukinoshita Shizuku looked at Tsushima Kagami with a smile.

"Not really. Aren't most people like that?"

Yukinoshita Shizuku was about to say something more when her expression suddenly changed, and she immediately covered her mouth and nose with her hand.

"But— Achoo."

"Achoo."

"Achoo."

After three consecutive sneezes, Yukinoshita Shizuku looked up at Tsushima Kagami.

"I feel a bit dizzy."

Knock, knock.

"Shizuku, I cooked some porridge for you."

Tsushima Kagami knocked on Yukinoshita Shizuku's door, holding a bowl of egg drop porridge. As expected, Yukinoshita Shizuku hadn't managed to escape a cold. After those few sneezes, she had started to develop a fever. Fortunately, they had fever reducers stocked at home, so after giving Shizuku the medicine, he had her rest in her room.

Now that the sky had turned completely dark, Tsushima Kagami had finished cooking the porridge and came to call Yukinoshita Shizuku to eat something before resting.

"Come in."

Hearing the weak voice from inside the room, Tsushima Kagami opened the door and walked in.

"How are you feeling?"

Yukinoshita Shizuku was lying on the bed, looking completely dazed.

"I feel... my head is so dizzy, it hurts. My throat hurts too. My body aches all over."

As she spoke, Yukinoshita Shizuku's voice was intermittent and slightly hoarse. In her dazed state, with her pouting lips, she seemed to have turned into a little girl acting spoiled.

Tsushima Kagami walked to Yukinoshita Shizuku's side with the porridge and sat down.

"How about drinking some porridge?"

Yukinoshita Shizuku shook her head in discomfort.

"No, I can't drink it."

Tsushima Kagami set the egg drop porridge aside. Seeing the strands of hair stuck to her forehead by sweat, he took the dry towel placed on the nightstand and wiped them for her.

"Then drink some water. You've sweated so much; you need to rehydrate."

Yukinoshita Shizuku shook her head again, then grabbed Tsushima Kagami's wrist.

"Will you sing me a song?"

"? Sing?"

"Won't you?"

"Will it make you feel better?"

"Maybe."

Tsushima Kagami looked at Yukinoshita Shizuku, who was blinking her eyes and staring straight at him. Tsushima Kagami nodded.

"Alright, I'll sing then."

Yukinoshita Shizuku tightened her grip on Tsushima Kagami's wrist, indicating she was ready.

"Cough cough."

"Zero's daddy is~ Ultra Seven."

"Zero's master is~ Ultraman Leo."

"Taiga's daddy is~ Ultra Taro."

"Taro's daddy is~ Father of Ultra."

Yukinoshita Shizuku listened, her brows furrowing deeper and deeper, until she interrupted Tsushima Kagami.

"Stop singing."

Tsushima Kagami tilted his head and looked at Yukinoshita Shizuku.

"? You don't like it?"

"It's not that. The melody is quite nice. What song is it?"

"Ah, I just sang randomly."

Yukinoshita Shizuku frowned and looked at Tsushima Kagami again.

"Then who are Zero and Taiga? I've never heard of those two in the Ultraman shows you usually watch."

Tsushima Kagami smiled at Yukinoshita Shizuku, whose brain seemed to have cleared up a bit from his singing.

"I made up new names myself. I plan to write a fanfiction."

Hearing this, Yukinoshita Shizuku released her grip on Tsushima Kagami's hand and rubbed her temples.

"Really... listening to that made my head hurt even more."

"That can't be blamed on me. You insisted I sing."

Tsushima Kagami hurriedly washed his hands of the responsibility.

"Can't... Can't you sing something girls like to hear?"

"How would I know what songs girls like to hear?"

Tsushima Kagami spread his hands again.

Being treated like this by Tsushima Kagami, Yukinoshita Shizuku felt her head, her throat, and her body hurt even more.

"I don't want to talk to you anymore."

She closed her eyes directly and turned her head away.

Tsushima Kagami watched Yukinoshita Shizuku's tightly furrowed brows and spoke slowly.

"I have a method that might make you feel a bit more comfortable. Do you want to try it?"

Hearing Tsushima Kagami suddenly say this, Yukinoshita Shizuku turned her head back and opened her eyes to stare at him.

"Really?"

Tsushima Kagami nodded.

"Then try it quickly."

"Then give me your hand."

Yukinoshita Shizuku struggled a bit to extend her hand from the quilt. Tsushima Kagami held it, supporting her palm with his left hand, and drawing circles above her palm with his right. He closed his eyes and muttered incessantly.

"Pain, pain, fly away~"

"Pain, pain, fly away~"

"Hehehehe."

Enduring the pain in her body, Yukinoshita Shizuku was made to laugh by Tsushima Kagami until her whole body shook.

"Don't laugh!"

"Pain, pain, fly away~"

When the third incantation was finished, Tsushima Kagami activated the skill: Perception Blocking.
