"I can't sleep because I'm too excited," Harriet murmured softly, her eyes lingering on the sleeping child in Elliot's arms. A warm smile touched her lips. "What a joyful night this is."
Her gaze softened even more as she watched Jared, and for a brief moment I saw something familiar in her expression—memories of a younger Elliot, still small enough to be carried like that, still innocent before the weight of Alpha duties settled on his shoulders.
"We're heading back now, Grandma," Elliot said as he carefully adjusted Jared in his arms. "Don't stay up too late."
Harriet nodded gently, watching us with quiet satisfaction as if the pack itself had finally found peace for the night.
