Hayley lowered her voice as she questioned May impatiently. "Are you certain he's inside?"
May nodded quickly. "I've been watching him the entire time. I'm sure Elliot is still in the room."
"Good." Hayley's eyes immediately lit up with excitement. "Then leave. I'll go see him myself."
At that exact moment, May lifted her head.
The instant she saw me standing behind Hayley, her entire face turned deathly pale.
I stood silently a few steps away with my arms folded across my chest, watching them coldly. Beneath the dim hallway lighting, their guilty expressions looked almost laughable.
Hayley finally noticed May's strange reaction and turned around in confusion. The moment our eyes met, surprise flashed across her face too.
"A-Anastasia… why are you here?" May stammered nervously.
