After getting dressed, I walked down the staircase from the second floor of the boutique. The moment my heels touched the final step, Elliot looked up from the sofa in the lobby. His dark eyes immediately deepened with surprise, and for several seconds, he simply stared at me in silence.
That intense gaze made heat creep beneath my skin.
I could almost feel his wolf reacting to me.
Elliot's expression softened slightly, and I knew exactly what he was thinking even without him saying it aloud. No matter what I wore, he always looked at me as though I belonged to him already.
I stopped beside him, suddenly feeling strangely nervous under his attention. "Does it look good?" I asked quietly.
"Absolutely gorgeous," he answered in a low voice, his tone rougher than before.
The owner quickly brought over two sequined evening purses for me to choose from. I lifted both toward Elliot. "Which one looks better?"
