I felt her before I saw her.
The air shifted, sharp and unwelcome, like a rival stepping into claimed territory without permission. My instincts stirred instantly, a low warning humming beneath my skin as I lifted my gaze. Hayley walked in behind Grace, her expression cold, her presence deliberate, carrying that familiar edge of dominance she loved to flaunt where it didn't belong.
Her eyes flicked to the assistant, and without hesitation, she let her authority spill out carelessly. "Get out," she said, dismissive, like she was addressing someone beneath her rank.
Grace made a face, sticking her tongue out in defiance before leaving. I watched the exchange, irritation simmering under my calm exterior. Hayley wasn't part of this pack, yet she walked in like she owned the ground beneath her feet.
"Remember who you are, Hayley," I said evenly, letting my voice carry a quiet warning. "This is Bourgeois. No one here answers to you."
