"Hah-Hah-Hah! Do you regret it now? If you had simply given away Reputation Gu, nothing of this would have happened. Is your fault, and your Clan will pay the price for it." Crimson Soul laughed heartily.
Uru Tan He's eyelids trembled.
Then he squinted his eyes.
"Still. It is not too late to redeem yourself from your sins. All you have to do is give me your Reputation Gu, of course, as an extra payment for wasting my time, you should also need to add another 3 Rank 7 Gu Worms.
If you do that, I will spare your dog's life!" His tone was absolutely merciless and mocking.
Uru Tan He rage reached its peak, among the threats, the mockery, and the fact that he had turned everyone against the Uru Clan, he could no longer hold himself back.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He screamed in rage.
His eyes were bloodshot red.
A violet light spread from his fingertips, growing brighter and brighter by the second.
To the point that it could no longer be seen by the naked human eye.
[Hyper Violet!]
But his seemingly imposing, almost divine-like Killer Move was met by countless Blood Phantoms who stretched their hands in the air.
And it was completely deflected.
Shock appeared in Uru Tan He's gaze, but Crimson Soul merely snorted coldly.
"Why did you think I have been taking a beating all this time? I was just analyzing your moves with my bare body!" As he spoke those words, he retaliated, using the momentary weakness upon unleashing a devastating Killer Move, he shot a violent red bloodstream from his two palms.
Uru Tan He gritted his teeth.
[I am green!] A green aurora spread through his whole body.
Whilst the Killer Move made movement difficult, it also greatly strengthened one's defensive capabilities.
Furthermore, this aspect of delaying movement was not a big deal, as, unlike his opponents, he could cancel it with a mere thought.
[Forbidden Passage] Several warning signals appeared around him, trying to deflect the attack.
But all those defenses merely slowed down the attack; in the end, he was forced to raise his two hands together.
To barely block the deadly attack aimed at his heart!
Even so.
Both of his hands had been utterly impaled.
And his body was sent flying away.
But Crimson Soul never considered the possibility of chasing after his opponent, instead he merely used that chance to make the mist surrounding him thicker and thicker still.
Whilst summoning an even larger amount of Blood Phantoms.
From a distance, the flying Uru Tan He regained his composure almost immediately.
Once more, he activated [I am Green], and his body was fixed in the spot.
He stared at Crimson Soul, frustrated that he had not fallen for the bait.
Crimson Soul chuckled.
"You truly thought I would be stupid enough to chase you? You are the one who's running out of time!" He snickered.
Before expending even more Immortal Essence to further his defenses.
…
"Le Tu. This has NOTHING to do with you. So, fuck off!" A teenager-like figure spoke.
"You pretentious bastard! Acting all righteous, as if that made a difference.
You want to save somebody? Why don't you fuck off and go to any random mortal village? I am sure you could save a hundred times more people if you did!" Another figure spoke while snorting coldly.
"You wanna be a hero? Then don't get in our fucking way! Or what? Do you think his life is worth more than ours? Do you even know how he has so many eyes?
Let me tell you one thing: to refine his Gu, you need eyes, actual eyes.
And where do you think he gets them?
He has a farm of variant and ordinary humans; he harvests their eyes. Then uses his techniques to heal their eyes again, before reaping them over and over again with no end.
And you want to save him? You truly are a hero, Le Tu!"
"Join us, Le Tu. Crimson Soul already promised that whoever delivered the final blow to Uru Hong Jing would be rewarded by him, whilst the others who contributed to the fight would have the curse removed.
I am willing to give away the reward to you, just don't get in our way."
A group of six Immortals stared at Le Tu. They tried to reason, using argument, intimidation, and force, to try to dissuade him.
They were all wary of him; they had seen what he could do.
But their numbers, as well as the knowledge of how Le Tu acted, made them far more brazen.
But Le Tu's gaze was not directed at them, but instead towards Uru Hong Jing, whose body was covered in deep cuts and wounds.
He was breathing heavily.
Le Tu frowned deeply.
Before taking a deep sigh.
He made a praying gesture.
"If I don't do it, then who will?" As he spoke those words, a golden aurora took place.
But then.
He heard another voice; once more, his Will spoke through him.
"Main body, Kao Dao Ji wants to speak with you again."
Le Tu's eyes were stretched widely.
Why would his will talk to him about this, under such circumstances?
But then he heard the message.
"Le Tu! Do you want me to rescue you?" Kao Dao Ji's voice was transmitted by his Will.
His eyes widened.
Rescue him? How?
Did they somehow bring a group of Featherman here?
But then, as he received further details, his expression changed even more drastically.
"He has a way to teleport me to his aperture?" He muttered in utter disbelief as he received further details of Kao Dao Ji's Killer Move.
His expression changed as he observed the six immortals.
"I…I do not think I can defeat them, let alone anybody else who may come to reinforce them later.
But. Even if I can't defeat them, I still can find an opening.
As long as I bring in my aperture for a single instant, then trigger the Killer Move I could get to safety.
The question is…" He paused.
"Can I trust him?" Le Tu frowned. Even now, he could not discern why Kao Dao Ji was favoring him so blatantly. It was utterly suspicious!
Moreover. Kao Dao Ji had merely shared some of the details of how the Killer Move supposedly worked, but the full number of Gu Worms employed was not disclosed.
In other words, he had no certainty that the Killer Move would work as he said!
Even if it did, how could he not know his situation would not become even worse?
After all, they could easily bring a few Rank 7 Gu Masters in Kao Dao Ji's aperture and wait until he himself decided to jump into the wolf's mouth.
Le Tu frowned.
"There is still Divine Travel. Even if unsafe, I could still gamble if Kao Dao Ji attempts anything."
(Divine Travel Immortal Gu: The Gu can only be activated by drunk Gu Masters, at the moment of activation. The Gu Master will be teleported randomly across the world.
Whilst the randomness makes it dangerous, it is among the fastest ways to travel in the world.
Furthermore, it can ignore the Five Walls or other phenomena. Enabling a person to teleport through other continents.
Still, considering its peculiarities and randomness is unknown whether this makes the Gu stronger or weaker.)
Then, he added.
"Of course, I should not rely on that; if possible, I should get away with my own abilities." His eyes shone.
A massive battle ensued.
….
The four Rank 7 were surrounded, their nervousness increasing.
Several Immortals were flying towards them.
Among them, only one figure remained composed.
Xing Gu Tou.
He was a man with long, white, messy hair.
His chest was exposed, as was the rest of his body, as he barely wore any clothing.
Except for a few leaves covering his manly parts.
He looked like a savage from an ancient tribe.
More than anything, what made him stand out were the tattoos on his body.
That looked like black lines that outlined his whole skeleton.
He was a Cultivator of Bone and Formation Path, and every single bone was like a Formation on its own.
He swiped his hand, and a radiant yellow barrier came out.
A Strength Path Immortal who was charging towards him could not help but slam his face against the barrier.
Several of the bones in his face cracked.
Not only that, but he realized that his face was deeply glued out to the surface of the barrier.
The man gritted his teeth.
But at the next moment, a pair of bones stood from side to side around his neck.
[Bone Scissors]
He was beheaded in one swift motion.
The other demonic Immortals paused as they observed the intimidating Xing Gu Tou's ruthless move!
Only Uru Cha Jing and the other Rank 7 Immortals took a deep sigh of relief.
Then. Uru Cha Jing's eyes widened.
Several bone projectiles were suddenly shot, impaling her body in several places.
"W-What?" She muttered while feeling the intense pain.
"Heh. Heh. Heh. Fool thy ally, to fool thy enemy. Have you never heard of such a basic thing?"
He smirked widely; he stretched his scissor bones to behead her.
But at the next moment.
A blade wave was shot in his direction, and he retreated.
"Hah. Hah. My friends, it should be obvious at this point that the Uru Clan stands no chance. So why fight against the inevitable?" Xing Gu Tou grinned.
…
"Wherever he goes, chaos follows. Hah…Le Tu truly lives up to his reputation as the protagonist of his era." Kao Dao Ji chuckled bitterly to himself.
Then. He sighed.
His feelings were rather complicated.
"I feel like a side character observing the protagonist's tale to greatness."
"With every day that passes, with every single discovery I make, and the more I learn about my own condition and state. The more certain I am that my transmigration could not be a mere coincidence or accident
I was brought here. But why? So far, apart from messing with Star Constellation, my influence has been minute.
I have been nothing more than a spectator, merely observing untold parts of Reverend Insanity's history."
He frowned deeply.
There was no answer to this puzzle, not even a single clue he could follow through.
He clenched his fists.
One day, one day he would find the answer.
…
…
…
In the river of time.
The usual tranquil waters of the river of time were growing turbid.
The waves that followed after them grew greater and greater in intensity.
Most of the waves followed a certain pattern, depicting a certain depiction of a desert.
Yet, several other waves began to discern a different image.
The skies above, colored by white and blue.
Two different Destinies seemed to be converging.
As those waves hit each other, the intensity of the ripples in the river of time could not help but grow even more intense.
Moreover.
Buried deeply in the waters of the river of time, there was a certain creature.
The creature seemed to be lying dormant at the bottom of the river.
But even dormant, it kept its mouth wide open.
Its mouth was small, smaller than a child's finger, yet from that small mouth an unbelievable amount of rich water was greedily devoured.
In the depths of the river of time, there was a continuous vortex surrounding the creature.
Those waves produced even further chaos, altering reality as the cicada's body was dragged by the tides.
Yet.
Despite emitting an intense Rank 9 aura, nobody could perceive it, as the water above it concealed it fully.
Not even Star Constellation herself was aware of such a development in the River of Time.
