Chapter 235 - 235: Diana Explains Axel’s Powers

After letting go of each other's hands, Diana turned her attention to Hawkman.

When their eyes met, Hawkman gave a slight nod and remained silent, clearly choosing to let the two women speak first. Understanding his intent, Diana shifted her gaze toward Doctor Fate.

Madam Inza broke the silence with firm resolve.

"Diana, to be honest, the reason we came to see you is because we hope you will join us in erasing the Wraith from the face of the Earth."

"I understand."

Diana raised her right hand slightly, already anticipating what would be said.

"Logically, I should accept your request. The Wraith is a danger to Earth. But now is not the right time to face him again. Not until we find his weakness. Even if we gather more allies, it would only end in meaningless sacrifice."

Hawkman frowned at her response. Stepping forward, he interrupted.

"Diana, then explain why. Tell us everything you know about him. We've searched through records, but none of that compares to someone who fought him and survived. Beyond immortality, his growth, and teleportation, what else should we be aware of?"

"Aren't those three enough?"

Diana's voice sharpened.

"My friend, that alone is already a nightmare."

"We've faced enemies like that before," Hawkman replied calmly. "We take losses, learn, and adapt. That's how we win."

Diana took a slow breath, then pointed at him.

"Hawkman."

"Call me Carter. My partner is Sandra. No need to be formal."

"Fine. Carter, Sandra, Madam Inza."

Her tone grew heavier.

"You are all powerful, so you think you can afford to take risks. I used to think the same way. That recklessness cost us Doctor Kent."

Her eyes hardened.

"Axel is not like any enemy you've faced. Yes, we've seen immortality, teleportation, and power growth before. But with him, those abilities operate at an absolute level. There are almost no weaknesses."

She turned to Sandra.

"Let's start with his teleportation. Imagine part of his body appearing inside yours without warning. That's what I mean by absolute. He can bypass anything, even my armor, which is infused with divine power."

Diana's expression tightened.

"He once teleported his hand directly onto my body. If he wanted to, he could have placed it inside my heart. Or worse."

She paused, visibly disturbed.

"That was enough. I withdrew. Not because I lacked strength, but because that kind of ability breaks both body and mind."

Silence fell.

Hawkgirl glanced at Hawkman, her expression wary. Hawkman swallowed, then continued.

"Alright… that explains the teleportation. What about the others?"

"The same."

Diana nodded grimly.

"I've beheaded him. Cut him in half. Ripped out his heart. None of it works. Every injury only makes him stronger."

Her voice grew more intense.

"When I first encountered him, his strength was only several times that of a normal man. After a few battles, he reached a level where he could fight me head-on."

She looked up at the sky for a moment before continuing.

"Death strengthens him. Injury strengthens him. Even being pushed back makes him stronger."

Her gaze returned to them.

"So listen carefully. Until we discover his weakness, do not engage him again. If we push him too far and he decides to throw himself into the sun, he could die repeatedly in an instant and return stronger each time. At that point, he might be able to destroy us with a single breath."

She paused, then added,

"He has endured divine punishment. Lightning meant to destroy him barely slowed him down. Even after being banished to another universe, he returned without effort."

Her voice dropped.

"So tell me, are we stronger than the gods? Is there any prison more absolute than exile to another universe?"

"That makes no sense…"

Madam Inza's frustration finally surfaced.

"Why would something like this exist? If he killed Kent and we still can't stop him, then what is he? Is he omnipotent? That can't be right. There has to be a weakness."

"There is."

Diana nodded.

"I believe that too. But until we find it, every attempt to fight him will only strengthen him and cost us lives."

She stepped closer and gently took Inza's hand.

"So please, set aside revenge for now. We need caution, not desperation."

"I understand…"

Inza exhaled slowly and nodded.

Diana relaxed slightly, then addressed them all.

"I've been searching for answers in the Amazon Memorial Hall. It contains records of the gods and their experiences. Somewhere in there, we might find something useful. But the amount of information is overwhelming. I need help."

She looked at them expectantly.

"Will you stay and assist me?"

Inza nodded, though reluctance remained in her expression.

However, Hawkman raised his hand.

"That's a good plan, but there's something else we should do first. I want to visit the guardian of the Rock of Eternity."

He continued,

"If your records contain the history of the gods, then Shazam carries the knowledge of countless ages. His insight could be more reliable than any archive. Before we begin searching, we should consult him."

He looked at Diana.

She nodded without hesitation.

"Agreed. Then we leave immediately. Axel is growing stronger every day. We cannot afford to waste time."
