Chapter 128 - 128: A Strange Plan

"What?!"

Before Kara could finish her sentence, Axel couldn't help interrupting her.

"You're telling me they blew up Wayne Tower on purpose? And it's set for tomorrow morning? Oh my god!"

He slammed his fist against the mattress in irritation.

"To stop hostages from being killed, they just killed the hostages themselves? Seriously? Can you play it like that? Damn, this warning came at the perfect — or worst — time!"

Axel stormed to the window and raised his middle finger toward the sky.

"Thanks old buddy, really great heads‑up. If God built the world in seven days but finished in five, then even if he's great, he's just some clown who couldn't even carry out his own schedule smoothly. If these old buddies keep interfering with my rhythm, I might actually lose my chance to reach all the worlds like you predicted. That won't do, because even if I'm having fun with just you, it'll eventually get stale. I need new entertainment for us."

Axel plopped back down beside Kara and reached for her hand.

But she didn't hesitate — she slapped his hand away without courtesy.

"Damn it!"

Axel cursed loudly, feeling the pain of his fractured hand bones.

"I can teleport thousands of meters in a blink, yet in front of you I'm still as fragile as tofu. Fuck! If all you NPCs are this strong, then what was the point of my cheat codes activating?!"

"Actually," Kara said coolly, "what you felt in your hand was softer than tofu."

Axel's expression froze for a beat, then he waved his hand in annoyance.

Even with countless enhancements, his recovery was hundreds, maybe thousands of times faster than a normal human's. His fractured right hand was visibly knitting itself back together, though nowhere near as fast as someone like Wolverine could regenerate.

While Axel waited for his hand to heal, Kara continued.

"Axel, don't be discouraged. When I hit you, I used my full strength. That blow that shattered your palm? It was powerful enough to split a planet in half."

"Okay, no need to explain," Axel growled, cutting her off.

"I never care about strength when making friends — eventually I'll surpass them anyway. Instead of lecturing me here, let's get back to your original plan. If I hadn't found you, how were you planning to help me? I want to see how God thinks based on your strategy."

Kara nodded coolly and started speaking.

"Although I don't believe I've actually been influenced, you probably know more than I do. Maybe there really is a guiding hand behind all this…"

She paused, eyes distant.

"I've never seen God. Are you sure there is a God, or is that just your delusion?"

Axel snorted incredulously.

"Your whole family is delusional. Hurry up and get to the damn point!"

Kara glanced at him, her expression cold and hard as ice.

"According to the original plan, the three of us would head to…"

"Wait!" Axel burst in again.

"Don't interrupt me!" Kara snapped, losing her temper.

She took a slow breath and exhaled toward Axel with force.

Crackling ice formed around his head instantly.

Then Snap!

Perhaps the temperature difference was too much; the ice shattered immediately, scattering hardened brain matter across the bed.

A moment later Axel reformed in fire and raised both hands, flipping Kara two middle fingers.

"So your plan is to keep killing me so I get stronger, so I can directly seduce Diana, Kara Zor‑El!"

"If you want your plan to be heard, don't keep interrupting me, Axel!"

Axel spread his arms.

"Alright then, what exactly is this plan? I only see you and Flash here. Where's the third?"

Kara grimaced.

"The third is Constantine. We need someone who actually understands magic to deal with the mystical threats."

Axel raised an eyebrow as Kara continued.

"He came with us four days ago, then ran off to London to party, only telling us to find him at Roxie Bar while we do the work. It's a gay bar, so I haven't bothered looking for him yet. But this time he should show up — he's desperate to get into Heaven after he dies. So maybe you're right — we're just tools God uses to remind or help you."

Kara didn't hide her disgust while talking about Constantine, and Axel waved his hand lazily.

"Okay, I get it. Continue."

Kara explained calmly.

"Anyway, the plan was for the three of us to arrive in Gotham before tomorrow morning. Constantine would use magic to protect Wayne Tower and eliminate the chance of it being destroyed by your allies Zatanna and Doctor Fate."

She paused.

"I would handle physical enemies — Diana, Clark, anyone else who shows up. Constantine won't fight to the death, but he'll buy time against magical threats. Flash's job would be to maintain temporal law, stopping other speedsters from jumping through time to interfere. He'd also watch for any gaps or surprises."

Axel raised his hands in disbelief.

"That's your plan? Just blindly charging in?"

Kara's voice stayed cold and steady.

"The supernatural level here is weak. Rushing in solves most problems."

Axel chuckled dryly.

"You're right, and I get God's intention now. You're here just to remind me that if I'm careful about disrupted plans, I won't lose my chance at evolution."

He clapped his hands once.

"Alright, that's enough. I know everything I need. You guys can keep playing in London, then head to Gotham like you planned. You're backed by God's schedules, so don't be late. And don't be discouraged — with so many worlds in the multiverse, who doesn't get manipulated by God? Except me, haha!"

Axel patted Kara's shoulder once, then his body flickered into a ball of flame and disappeared.

Kara watched the spot where he'd been sitting, eyebrows twitching slightly. She was about to raise her hand, but instead turned and walked over to the bed.

She slowly lay down, curling up, and closed her eyes.

Images flooded her mind — dark visions of a military base in the Soviet Union where she had spent decades as a captive since childhood, never feeling the sun or warmth until Axel freed her.

Was Axel really just a prank from God?

Her eyes opened, and she curled closer to the warmth he left behind, burying her face in the bedsheets and gently sniffing.

If this warmth and scent are so real, why worry about what's true?

Then — click!

The door burst open.

Flash appeared in the room in an instant.

"Did Axel leave? I was just strolling around Gotham watching the chaos and saw Axel return to Iceberg Lounge…"

Flash trailed off, staring blankly at Kara, who was face‑down in the bed sniffing sheets.

Kara's body stiffened, then she slowly sat up and gave Flash the coldest stare imaginable.

"If you can't learn to knock, then I'll personally shove manners into your brain! Maybe Constantine still wants to go back to his world, but I'm different. I actually want to stay here! So your death might be a very good thing!"
