Chapter 71 - 71 - Low-Grade Tier 1 Bow and Sword

An hour or so before midday, Eric, Elara, and Lysandra landed upon the ocean cliff.

Their current location was away from where Eric had fallen, but it was also not too far.

Eric decided that he would search for his dagger—which had betrayed him—after the Dark Elf massacre event had ended.

After all, no matter how much his dagger had backstabbed him by running away during the critical moment, it was still his child! Ahem, birthday gift.

Eric and Elara had flown to the current location with the help of Lysandra's magic.

Eric had to say he was quite... disappointed.

They had flown inside a transparent, bubble-like thing that blocked all wind and also provided them with a proper foothold, though the speed was quite slow.

Eric almost fell into depression because his expectation of flying someday at extreme speed with full freedom was completely ruined!

Even flying with wingsuits was far more exciting and fun than this!

Perhaps, if he had time in the future, he could personally recreate wingsuits in this world—if they hadn't already been invented.

The only pleasant factor was that the bubble was at least transparent, so Eric did enjoy the view.

Lysandra, at this moment, spoke with great enthusiasm: "From here, we should take our time to enjoy our walk till the Dark Elf base!"

Eric casually nodded.

Elara's focus was entirely on Eric. She believed she had made great progress—at least she could now gaze at Eric's face when he wasn't looking back at her!

"Why is Madam Lysandra wearing this kind of clothing?" Eric asked the biggest question he had had since morning.

Lysandra was wearing a long, gorgeous gown.

This dark-green gown was so high-end in quality that it seemed less like clothing and more like a living thing because of the golden tree-branch designs woven into it.

In short, Lysandra was wearing a top-tier noble or royal dress while walking through the forest, and though the dress was long enough to drag in the mud, it strangely remained pristine.

And not only that.

If Eric recalled correctly, Lysandra had brought them to massacre the Dark Elf tribe. So, who in the hell would go into a battlefield wearing such an expensive-looking dress?

Lysandra laughed, then asked teasingly, "Why? Do you prefer seeing me in my undies during battle? Also, just call me by name or 'Mother Lysandra.'"

Eric shrugged. "Alright then, Lysandra." He didn't really care about naming—it was better than 'Aunty' or 'Mommy,' at least.

Lysandra's eyes widened.

Even Elara was dragged out of her daydreaming and stared at Eric with wide eyes, covering her mouth.

Elara could see that the entire Elvin continent would probably hunt Eric down if they heard him calling Queen Lysandra by her name—not to mention Lysandra was a Grandmaster and one of the strongest!

Elara secretly wiped her sweat and decided to train harder to protect Eric in the future.

"What?" Eric was totally bewildered by both mother and daughter's weird reactions.

Lysandra laughed and waved her hand dismissively.

She had just been joking and teasing her son-in-law during her vacation time—she hadn't expected him to actually call her by name. It was acceptable, though, since Eric was someone who had triggered her instincts.

Lysandra turned toward her hot daughter and asked Eric, "You didn't mention how my daughter looks? She's fully ready to battle everyone to protect you!" As a mother, her cutest daughter would always look best in whatever she wore.

Elara blushed at her mother's bold declaration—but she was indeed planning to do just that.

Eric checked Elara, and she quickly turned red and pink, looking downward.

Elara was wearing a simple adventurer's outfit—not the best for punching people to death, but more suited for an archer—and she carried a deep-brown wooden bow on her shoulder and arm, though there was no quiver.

Eric wondered why Elara had no arrows but didn't probe further—probably Lysandra would provide them after reaching the tribe.

Also, Elara's cleavage was showing quite a bit in her new outfit, making her look alluring, sexy, and attractive.

Eric wasn't the kind to worry about what girls wore, as long as they could protect themselves. And not to mention, he was getting free eye candy—how could he not like it?

He gave her one more proper look from top to bottom, and Elara's fair skin visibly turned even redder.

Eric ignored Elara's special effect and nodded with a smile.

"Very beautiful. Also perfect for archery and action, I guess..."

Elara's eyes brightened. She wanted to chat more about it, but her mouth refused to open properly for long conversations, so she gave up.

While gazing at Eric's feet, Elara whispered sweetly, "T-Thank you… y-you look very handsome too..."

She needed more time! Maybe by tomorrow, she could properly chat with Eric.

Lysandra laughed at her cute daughter's response and turned to Eric. "Indeed, your outfit is amazing; I don't remember which Elf man's clothes I robbed long ago. But you still look very handsome in that attire!"

Eric was wearing a predominantly black garment made of leathery material, featuring intricate gold detailing that formed flowing, almost wing-like patterns across the shoulders and chest.

Lysandra suddenly recalled something. "Right, I can see you've practiced with all sorts of weapons, but you don't have any with you. Elara already has her own low-grade Tier 1 bow, so tell me, Eric—what weapons do you want?"

She had already seen Eric's training ground and all sorts of weapons and training materials there. Even she was impressed by the Old Lady of the Orphanage and her dedication to training her disciples.

Eric thought for a moment. "Mortal-tier will do. Just give me a bow and arrows. Hm… a normal-sized sword too, if possible."

Lysandra waved her hand in disbelief. "Who do you think I am? I don't have any Mortal-tier."

In truth, she did have Mortal-tier weapons, but she couldn't hand them over to her son-in-law—or else Elara would beat her up.

Lysandra then started 'staring' at a ring on her finger.

Eric had learned about this magical ring the previous night when Lysandra pulled out tables and other items from it at the beach for the dinner party.

Later that night, Eric had fallen asleep atop the hill while admiring the glowing orbs covering half the island and the countless twinkling stars above.

Strangely, those glowing orbs only reached halfway up the hill, but they still made the entire island seem like a dreamy, mesmerizing, and romantic land.

The ring was called a 'Space Ring' and required 'Spiritual Sense' to operate.

Eric wondered just how big the space inside it was—it seemed almost limitless, given how many things Lysandra had pulled from it.

When a Mana Wielder reached Rank 4- Master Rank, they gained better access to their Mana Body and could use 'Spiritual Sense,' which was, in a way, the 'eye' of the Mana Body.

After searching for a while, Lysandra's eyes brightened. She pulled out a bow and a sword.

Gazing at the gorgeous-looking sword and bow, Eric felt his eyebrows jump.

They truly looked 'Elvish'—too damn pretty, to the point that they seemed more like priceless decorations than real weapons.

The sword was meticulously crafted and adorned with vibrant green gemstones. The blade itself appeared partially or fully made of a translucent emerald-green material, possibly some transparent greenish crystal or glass, with dark metal veins or accents running through it—creating the illusion of a living plant or vine winding through the blade.

The bow was crafted with a gold-colored, ornate design, featuring intricate detailing with swirling patterns and embedded gemstones or crystals. Its most striking feature was the large, feathery wings attached to either side—translucent white, giving it a luminous, ethereal effect. There were also two tiny oval-shaped empty slots on both ends, which Eric didn't understand.

He couldn't help but ask, "Are those really weapons and not just decorations? Also, don't you have something less showy or expensive?"

Lysandra shoved both weapons into Eric's hands and calmly replied, "This is the least expensive low-grade Tier 1 weapon I have. The other, normal-looking one was taken by Elara. Also, it's not a showpiece—even a late-stage Rank 2 would fear its lethality. Anyway, take it."

Eric took the weapons with a bitter smile.

Both were quite heavy. He realized that if he took anything heavier, he might lift it but wouldn't be able to wield it effectively in battle.

Lysandra was happy to clear out some of the junk festering in her Space Ring.

She then recalled she hadn't given Eric a quiver yet—though he didn't need one.

Eric watched as Lysandra took out two tiny, glowing white-orbs and placed each into the empty slots on the bow's ends. The slots closed, hiding the glowing orbs inside.

Lysandra nodded in self-satisfaction and explained, "You don't need arrows—just pull the bowstring, and an arrow will conjure itself. A total of 1,000 arrows can be conjured due to the two low-grade Mana Cores. These arrows last 2 to 3 minutes before vanishing—though the wounds they create won't."

Eric felt numb inside. It was truly an amazing world he had landed in, filled with all sorts of fancy, unimaginable things.

He strapped the sword onto his waist belt. The sheath was similarly made of deep-green crystal and looked expensive enough to be used as a blunt weapon.

Eric then aimed at a random tree dozens of meters away and lightly pulled the bowstring. A fantastic-looking white-transparent, yet sturdy, arrow manifested—gold-shafted and tipped with luminous feathers similar to the bow's design.

Even without seeing them, Eric knew Lyria would lust over these weapons when she saw them.

He had to admit—both weapons were truly magnificent and magical.

He suddenly wondered if he could earn trillions by selling his advanced 21st-century cosplay designs in this world.

He pulled the bowstring just enough to stick the arrow into the tree and released.

SHA!

The arrow shot forward—piercing the thick tree completely and embedding itself into a second tree behind it before stopping.

Eric gaped—it was like watching a bullet penetrate a tank.

Lysandra patted Eric's shoulder. "Bows differ from other weapons—even a lower-tier bow can deliver vastly superior attacks than higher-tier swords. But they're long-range and have limitations. Alright, let's go—or we'll be late for the party."

Lysandra walked ahead while Eric and Elara followed.

Each of them was lost in their own thoughts.

Eric considered asking for elixirs for the three orphanage brats and Bella Noll, plus Tier 1 potions after the battle. He didn't plan to return to the island. It had already been nine days since he left the orphanage; everyone would be worried. He also needed to retrieve his backstabbing dagger—or at least search for it. After that, it might take another few days to return through the forest.

As for the Dark Elf massacre? He wasn't worried. With a Grandmaster present and powerful weapons in hand, if he still died—he deserved it.

Lysandra had instructed them to leave Mana Wielders to her and focus on mortals. Eric had no issue with that. He knew he couldn't become the Ultimate Boss without bloodshed—so he was prepared to slaughter nearly ten trillion mortals to kick-start his journey! Ahem… though the Dark Elf tribe didn't have that many mortals.

Elara, still currently in her 'maiden in love' mode, knew where they were heading and why. She knew she would be killing people for the first time and was quite nervous, but with Eric by her side, she felt she could fight heaven and hell together—she could even spank her mother if necessary!

Lysandra, at the front, was checking her ring with her spiritual sense. It was a very expensive artifact, and pretty much all the junk she had picked up since her early days adventuring was there, collecting nonexistent dust.

It had been a long time since she had even bothered to check those, and she was very excited to clear out a lot of that low-tier trash.
