It did not know what owner meant either.
It only knew one very simple thing.
This person was warm.
This person's hands were gentle.
This person did not hit it, did not throw it, did not look at it like food, and did not smell dangerous in the way others had.
So staying beside her felt safe.
For a creature that had just been trembling in a cage waiting to become somebody else's meal, that was already enough to count as heaven.
