Running toward Alleus, I reached for her hand as the ground began to crack from the tremor.
"Alleus—!"
But the ground split beneath our feet, and we were separated.
Sliding down the earth that rose up and toppled over, I glanced at Incus. She was nearing the three hundred meter mark.
Grabbing my shoulder and stopping me from continuing to fall, Lieur was covered in dirt, her other hand holding Kraken.
"Captain, we need to hurry and find the others." Lieur narrowed her eyes.
As we started to move, a demon suddenly lunged at us.
Ducking out of the way, I kicked it in the neck and pushed Lieur out of the way. Once she did, an arrow was sent flying through the demon's eye socket.
Screeching in agony, it grabbed the demon and threw it where the rubble was starting to crack.
Running away, I heard a faint but familiar voice:
"…Ri… Ring… Ring…!"
It was Alleus. Her voice is faint, but she's definitely alive somewhere.
Running around the risen earth, a sudden slash formed on the ground.
Pushing Lieur out of the way, my finger got caught in the crossfire.
"Ack..! Scales, stop the bleeding from my index finger." The scales tightly grasped where I had lost my finger.
Tilting my head, I saw that the kingdom's wall had been eviscerated. There was no rubble on the ground. The ground and wall had been completely destroyed.
"Ring, grab hold! I'm headed your way!" She stretched one of Kraken's tentacles and threw it to me.
Catching it, she leaped my way and climbed upward out of the dry ravine. Kraken's suction prevented us from losing our grip.
Looking at Dragonborn, he was winding up for another cleave.
Running out of the way, we managed to remain unscathed.
"Lieur, where's Alleus? How is she?" I asked with hesitancy.
Closing her eyes, she paused for a brief moment and answered:
"She's around that large chunk of rock over there. Don't worry, she's fine."
Moving through the uneven terrain, Alleus was battling a demon, but she looked visibly tired.
Jumping down, I cut the demon's arm off.
"We need to get closer to Incus!" I commanded, my voice booming.
Giving me a nod, all three of us inched our way closer. Our formation changed to defending Alleus as she tried to catch her breath.
When a large piece of earth was about to collapse on us, Alleus grabbed me and pulled me downward, shielding me.
But thankfully, Index appeared and saved us.
"Careful where you step, young ones."
Helping us climb up, the battle seemed to be nearing its end.

Chapter 119: The Dragon Demon General

Standing up, Incus summoned the [Mana Breaking Hero's Sword] and slashed through Dragonborn's breath of fire.
Focusing the mana around her pupil, she activated her unique skill: [True Eye of the Truthseeker].
"This has dragged on for too long… I'll finish you where you stand."
Blitzing across the battlefield, Incus summoned the [Dark Hero's Sword] in her hand and pulled her body back.
"Thousand Spear Sky." A wall of a thousand sword thrusts, reinforced by [Blade Aura], began to form cracks on Dragonborn's scales.
Dodging the wildly thrown cleaves, Incus spun in the air.
"Raging Tide of the Sky." A shower of sword thrusts fell on Dragonborn, but Incus didn't stop there. Summoning the [Water Hero's Sword], she continued:
"Raging Tide of the Sky, times two… and ExcaliFrost!" Now there was not only a barrage of swords but an army of ice swords aiding the attack.
—Grrrrgh. Groaning under the pain, the Dragonborn fell to the ground.
The attacks then ceased.
Slowly transforming back to his human form, Dragonborn struggled to stand up.
"I've underestimated you… no… it's more like you've grown desperate."
Appearing in front of him, Incus summoned all the hero swords except one and stabbed them into him.
"Blurgh…" Blood poured out of his mouth as he struggled to comprehend what had just happened.
'Impossible. Did she manage to break through? I've spent years of my life submitting to the blade. How is it possible that I've lost? So this is the power of the summoned hero... The demon king said that it would be an easy battle because of her prematurity. ' Dragonborn growled before shouting:
"You're just a filthy human…!" Putting his hand on his chest, he made his blood explode out in every direction toward any demon that was still alive.
"You may have bested me, but how will you fare against an army that has the strength of a dragon…"
Grimacing, Incus kicked Dragonborn to the ground and pointed the [Dark Hero's Sword] at his chest.
"I'll simply have to slaughter them." Thrusting the sword, Dragonborn pulled Incus closer by the head.
"Word of advice. If you think that you can defeat the Demon Lord with your current strength, then you are sorrowfully mistaken." Slowly, his strength disappeared and his hand dropped.
The scales wrapped around her dispersed.
Covering her mouth, blood began to pour out.
'Damn it, I pushed myself too much… I have to get much stronger and fast. ' Incus thought, steadying her breathing.
[You have gained 12 stat points.]
Looking around, Incus forced herself to stand. There were still many more enemies left, many more demons left.
Walking toward the demons, she collapsed to the ground.
Picking her up, Steinen used his forearm to carry her. His shattered shoulders limited his range of movement, so this was the best he could do for now.
"Stand tall, my lady. The people are cheering your name."
Behind her, the citizens of Jansoara shouted praises.
"You can do it, hero!"
"Thank you for everything!"
Getting off his forearms, Incus raised the sword above her.
