Twitch struggled to throw a Venom Cask onto Jikegar's ship, and several of Jikegar's guards rushed to block it with their bodies.
The corrosive, poisonous liquid seeped through their clothes and into their bodies; their skin began to fester and rot, but they endured the pain, gritting their teeth, and stood before Jikegar.
Twitch sneered dismissively, clenching his left hand, and the poison on the guards' bodies exploded.
At the same time, Twitch raised his right-hand crossbow and immediately activated Spray and Pray!
Arrows laced with poison, propelled by the powerful crossbow, had a Pierce effect, directly piercing through the guards' bodies and embedding themselves in Jikegar.
In one second, Twitch emptied his clip. Jikegar was tightly surrounded by his personal guards, but Twitch's arrows could Pierce. A group of guards, embracing Jikegar, all died on the ship, their bodies piled on the deck.
But by the time the other Piltover soldiers reacted.
"Mission accomplished. Be stealthy, be even more stealthy."
Twitch once again entered stealth mode, disappearing from the riverbank.
The Piltover soldiers, having lost their commander, were still following their last order: to force a crossing to the shore.
Twitch ran to a safe place before pulling out his walkie-talkie:
"Jikegar is dead."
At this moment, Chen had just finished negotiating with Talon. He clenched his fists:
"Good! It's time for our counterattack!"
The enemy's command had been eliminated, and the other soldiers were still mindlessly charging.
Chen made a decisive call:
"Jinx, Ultimate Death Missile! Fire it at the densest crowd in the middle of the river!"
At this, Jinx immediately became excited, shouldering Fishbones and rushing out:
"Move aside, move aside! Here I come~"
"Goodbye! Take this! Bye-bye~~"
The Ultimate Death Missile glowed with an intense blue light. A massive missile flew out from Fishbones, streaking across the sky directly towards the middle of the river.
A colossal pillar of water shot into the sky, and the previously calm river instantly became turbulent and chaotic. At the same time, a mushroom cloud rose!
With that one shot, countless Piltover soldiers were killed or wounded, and countless boats in the river were overturned. The luckier Piltover soldiers could still struggle in the water, while the less fortunate had already become floating corpses, and the river was filled with blood.
The Piltover soldiers were terrified; they had never seen such a powerful Hextech Weapon!
Chen shouted:
"Spray and Pray!"
Without the harassment from the assassins, Chen quickly told everyone to get into firing positions and start sweeping the area below!
The Piltover soldiers' morale had already plummeted. Fighting from a lower position was already a disadvantage, and they didn't have as much cover as Zaun, plus their support from behind was cut off!
Now, apart from their Hextech Rifles, they had no advantages. They quickly retreated behind cover, waiting for the next wave of Piltover reinforcements.
But they waited in vain, and no more orders came from Piltover Commander Jikegar. These Piltover soldiers looked across the river, and the remaining soldiers showed no intention of moving or crossing the river!
The morale of the Piltover forces plummeted to rock bottom. Without a leader, those who crossed the river faced certain death. Piltover had already suffered a crushing defeat.
The squad leader of the Third Column, looking disheveled, cowered behind cover and shouted across the river:
"Where the hell is your support! Where are you?!"
But no Piltover forces were seen attempting to cross the river. Instead, Chen's voice came from above them:
"As luck would have it, your officer Jikegar is dead. Our Wildfire Party treats prisoners well. Surrender your weapons, and you won't be killed."
The squad leader of the Third Column looked at the opposite bank where there were no reinforcements, at his wounded comrades, and at the long river filled with floating corpses. After exchanging glances with his teammates, he threw down his gun, raised his hands, and walked out:
"Let us live."
After waiting a few seconds, the squad leader was still alive:
"It seems Jikegar is indeed dead, otherwise, if I surrendered, he would surely have sent people to kill me from the other side of the river."
What Chen said was not false. He waved at the squad leader:
"Come up!"
So, the remnants of the Third Column all followed, and those who had already crossed the river, and those who floated across, almost all chose to surrender upon seeing this. They all knew that Jikegar was dead, and Piltover had lost.
The most unyielding ones had already died on the bridge during their first charge into Zaun.
Having captured many Hextech Rifles, Chen immediately had a group of skilled marksmen switch to Hextech Rifles, aiming at the opposite bank of the river, and began to fire, directly engaging them in a gunfight!
Zaun had constructed cover, but the opposing side had always thought Zaun's bullets couldn't reach them, so they didn't have much cover. Coupled with Piltover's current demoralization, Zaun actually held a significant advantage in this gunfight.
As the fighting continued, the leaderless Piltover soldiers were driven away, and the riverbank was left unguarded!
"Charge! Cross the river!"
Chen immediately led his people across the river, rushing to the other side!
After crossing the river, Ekko looked at everything in disbelief:
"Did we really win?"
"Not yet."
Chen patted Ekko's shoulder and charged forward into Piltover.
But when Chen and his group charged in, the Piltover people were utterly astonished; they never in their wildest dreams imagined that the Zaunites would actually attack!
The Wildfire Party's forces were divided into two groups: Ekko led one group to capture the Hexgates, and Chen led the other directly to the Council.
The city immediately descended into chaos, but they took over both locations with great ease; Piltover offered little resistance.
In the Council, including Jayce, all eight councilors were present. Chen ordered his soldiers to press them into their seats, not allowing them to leave.
Chen sat directly in the middle of the round table and clapped his hands lightly:
"Well, well, you all love meetings, don't you? Now I'll let you have your fill. Let's have a meeting."
The entire scene was deathly silent, and Powder next to him covered her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter.
Chen jiggled his leg, looking at the councilors with a look of disdain:
"No, why aren't you talking? I remember you were all so eloquent in previous meetings, each like a living dictionary."
But still no one answered. Chen shook his head:
"Alright, if you won't speak, then I'll speak for you."
"Out of nowhere, why did you decide to go to war with us?"
Still no one replied. Chen shook his head; he had already seen through these guys:
"Alright, then I'll get to the point. Isn't it time to apprehend war criminals?"
At this moment, the sweating, balding councilor finally couldn't hold back. He stammered to Chen:
"This... it's Ta... Talis... councilor, the Hextech Ri... Rifle was also made by him..."
Jayce remained silent, sitting still in his spot, his eyes seeming to have lost their light.
Seeing Jayce offer no resistance, everyone except Madam Kirammann and Mel began to speak, all pointing their fingers at Jayce:
"It's Jayce, he created the Hextech Weapons, he's the biggest war criminal!"
"Yes, yes, yes, Lord Chen, this matter has nothing to do with us!"
"..."
Now the address for Chen had changed to 'Lord.' Chen let out a cold laugh:
"Starting a war requires the approval of the entire Council. None of you will escape today."
"Arrest them all! Take them away, throw them in jail!"
