Chen's mind raced. Katarina's appearance was a complete surprise, but a moment's thought made him realize it was entirely logical.
Katarina's full name is Katarina Du Couteau, and Noxus's Grand General Du Couteau is Katarina's father, and the only person Talon is loyal to.
There's also a complicated history between Talon and Katarina. Their presence here could only mean one thing: they were searching for Grand General Du Couteau.
Considering that Urgot was once Noxus's executioner, and Talon's initial goal was merely to assassinate Urgot, Chen understood what had happened. In reality, Du Couteau's disappearance had nothing to do with Urgot.
But with Urgot's current temperament, he would be thrilled if all of Noxus's ruling class died, so Urgot must have said something to Talon.
Chen cursed internally:
"Urgot, that idiot!"
Suddenly, he shouted:
"Zac!"
To deal with assassins like Katarina and Talon, he needed to summon someone they couldn't easily take down.
Zac flew over directly, a large blob of goo flying towards Katarina. Katarina, with an assassin's keen senses, instantly twisted her body to dodge, and slashed Zac with a dagger.
The dagger sank in but didn't cause Zac any harm. Zac threw a punch at Katarina's face. Katarina, once again, threw a dagger at the Zaunite warrior, then used Shunpo to move away from Chen, Ekko, and Zac.
She appeared among the ordinary Zaunite soldiers. At that moment, Katarina suddenly began to spin, her daggers whirling with her. In her eyes, time seemed to slow down.
One rotation, two rotations.
Katarina threw another dagger behind a soldier, aiming for her target. A Zaunite warrior stepped forward to block her, the dagger embedding itself firmly in his chest.
Three rotations, four rotations.
Katarina Shunpoed to the dagger—the momentum drove the blade through the man's Hextech armor and into his flesh.
Katarina saw the whites of his eyes, mixed with surprise, pain, and Terrify.
Behind Katarina, she could hear Chen's shouts and feel Ekko and Zac rushing towards her.
Their speed was commendable, but not enough.
Five rotations, six rotations.
A squad leader from the Wildfire Squad stumbled backward in a panic, raising his sword, his reactions dulled by surprise. Katarina pulled out a dagger and charged forward. Her free hand grabbed his hair, and the blade bit into his throat.
Seven rotations. Clang.
Another bullet pierced the spot where Katarina had just been, but Katarina was already gone. The bullet struck her target's chest. Katarina leaped back to where her dagger landed, finishing its aerial spin and sticking into the ground.
Katarina held a blood-soaked dagger in one hand.
In the other hand… was the target's severed head.
The entire process took barely two and a half seconds!
The situation became critical once again. Chen wasn't afraid to face Katarina or Talon individually, but they were now ignoring him to kill the ordinary Zaunite soldiers.
Chen now only regretted not having any mobility skills!
Fortunately, Ekko's Z-Drive Resonance activated again. He lunged forward with Phase Dive towards Katarina. At the same time, Zac used his Elastic Slingshot to propel himself towards Katarina once more.
Just then, Chen's sixth sense detected a vague danger. He realized that Talon had disappeared for a few seconds and hadn't reappeared.
In the distance, from a safe position, Jinx and Ziggs, one carrying Fishbones and the other holding bombs, were frantically intercepting the assassins' attacks. They had already dealt with many members of the assassin squad; they were definitely the ones who had inflicted the most damage.
Even so, Talon had set his sights on them. Talon's surprise attack failed to succeed, so he threw his throwing knives, entered stealth, and rushed towards Jinx and Ziggs unnoticed!
Just as Talon continuously flipped over several walls and appeared behind Jinx, he slashed at Jinx with a blade, and eight throwing knives flew towards Jinx!
"No!"
Chen turned his head and saw Talon assassinating Jinx. He let out a hysterical roar, frantically running towards Jinx's location!
How could a squishy ADC like Jinx withstand Talon's assassination?
The nearby Ziggs reacted extremely quickly, throwing a small Satchel Charge at Jinx's feet. Talon reacted immediately, retreating two steps to try and avoid the bomb.
The eight blades returned to Talon's hand because his retreat meant he hadn't hit Jinx.
But the bomb didn't explode; Ziggs was just trying to scare him. He couldn't possibly detonate the bomb and blow up Jinx. Ziggs immediately dragged Jinx and ran away.
But Talon was relentless, once again using his signature skill, Cutthroat! He reappeared behind Jinx.
Chen frantically ran towards them, but he still couldn't make it in time!
Although Ziggs held a bomb, Talon knew he would never detonate it, letting Jinx and him perish together!
Just as Talon's wristblade was about to touch Jinx, a werewolf's roar echoed through the air!
A huge gray werewolf lunged at Talon with incredibly high speed. This terrifying speed meant that Talon's assassin's sense of danger didn't even have time to react before the werewolf appeared in front of him.
The werewolf descended from the sky, suppressing Talon from above, attacking madly with its claws!
Talon's wristblades and the blades on his cloak all flew out, fully resisting the werewolf's attack.
Jinx turned to see the werewolf that had saved her. She didn't know why a tear involuntarily slid down her cheek. She had seen this werewolf in Singed's laboratory. This werewolf brought her an indelible sense of familiarity.
"Don't look, run!"
Ziggs dragged Jinx towards Chen's direction. He knew that as long as Chen was by their side, he would definitely protect them.
Chen rushed over and shielded Jinx. He saw the werewolf that had burst out and muttered a few words:
"Warwick... no, Vander, even in this state, you're still protecting your daughter."
"Thank you, Vander."
But just then, Chen heard the sound of a grappling hook. From behind Zaun, a familiar figure flew down from the wall.
Chen quickly looked up and saw Camille's leg blades raised, flying directly towards Jinx.
Camille had fought alongside Chen and his group before, and she knew that the little girl with the gun was the one who dealt the most damage here, so she kicked at Jinx without hesitation.
But how could Chen let Camille have her way? He roared:
"Unbreakable Will!"
Two Rune Shields appeared beside him, using his body to block Camille's kick for Jinx.
Chen was stunned by the kick. Camille stared at Chen and said coldly:
"I told you, as long as the Feros Family exists, you will never win!"
The first kick, Precision Protocol, struck Chen's calf diagonally, but due to the protection of Unbreakable Will, it only left a shallow scratch. Then, another Tactical Sweep kick landed squarely on Chen's chest, also only leaving a shallow wound.
Jinx had already raised Pow-Pow, aiming at Camille, and bullets swept towards Camille.
But just then, Camille's Hextech heart powered up to full. The Hextech energy made her leap high. In that instant, a Hextech Shield rose around her, and the bullets that hit Camille's body were all deflected.
The next second, Camille landed, using The Hextech Ultimatum, stomping on Chen. The Hextech's ultra-high energy spread out, forming a transparent wall.
The transparent Hextech wall expanded outwards in a hexagon, pushing both Jinx and Ziggs away!
Camille didn't stop her movements but did an upward kick and a backflip. The second part of Precision Protocol kicked from bottom to top, directly at Chen's head!
The second part of Precision Protocol deals true damage; even with Unbreakable Will activated, true damage cannot be reduced!
A bloodstain ran from Chen's chin, cutting up to the top of his head, splitting it in two.
He fell to the ground, blood pooling around him, clearly beyond saving. Jinx looked at Camille frantically, her Ultimate Death Missile already loaded:
"I'm going to kill you!"
Ekko watched Chen fall, and he too rushed over like a madman:
"No, no! There's no chance to rewind time! No no no!"
But what everyone failed to notice was that three small hourglass-like objects floated beside Chen...
