Chapter 732 - V9-33 ai generated sex stories 3 Rift sex adventure part 4

The desert sun hung low and amber, painting the oasis in shades of gold and rust. Rift stood at the edge of the water, watching the silhouette that moved through the ripples. May. He'd sensed her signature from a mile out — that warm, amber glow that felt like summer evenings and something sweeter. She hummed to herself, a soft melody that carried across the still water, her back to him as she waded deeper.

He watched her for a long moment. The way her chestnut hair clung to her shoulders, wet and dark. The way her red bandana had slipped loose, floating on the surface like a fallen petal. The way her hips moved as she walked through the shallows, unhurried, unguarded. She thought she was alone out here. She'd folded her clothes neatly on the bank — red crop top and blue shorts stacked in a careful pile, her bandana the only thing she'd left off. Planned for solitude.

Rift smiled to himself and began to undress.

His shirt came off first, the dry desert air hitting his skin as he folded it and set it beside her pile. His jeans followed, then his boxers, until he stood naked at the water's edge, the sun warming his shoulders and the glowing tattoos on his chest catching the light. The anchor hummed, a low pulse against his sternum that matched the rhythm of her humming. Synchronized. Inevitable.

He stepped into the water.

The coolness rose around his ankles, then his calves, then his knees — a slow, deliberate immersion that made every nerve stand up. He moved without sound, each step placed carefully on the sandy bottom, his eyes never leaving her. She was maybe twenty feet out now, up to her waist, her arms moving through the water in lazy circles. Her breasts swayed with each movement, heavy and full, the nipples pebbled from the cool water. He could see the curve of her back, the dip of her waist, the swell of her ass as she bent slightly, splashing water over her shoulders.

She sighed, content, and tilted her head back. The low sun caught her throat, her collarbones, the soft hollow between them.

Rift waded deeper. The water crept up his thighs, his hips, his navel — and still she didn't turn. He was close enough now to see the fine hairs on her arms, the way her lashes cast shadows on her cheeks. Close enough to hear her breath.

She stopped humming.

For a moment, neither of them moved. The water lapped gently against their bodies, the only sound in the world. Then her head started to turn, and he moved.

His hands found her hips first — firm, possessive, pulling her back against him before she could finish the turn. She gasped, a sharp inhale that became a strangled sound as his cock pressed against the cleft of her ass, hard and ready, trapped between their bodies. Her body went rigid, every muscle locking.

"What—" she started, her voice high and breathless.

His hands slid up her sides, slow and deliberate, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. Up over her ribs, past the soft swell of her belly, until his palms found the undersides of her breasts. He cupped them, lifted them, let her feel the weight of them in his hands. They were perfect — full and soft, her nipples hard against his palms. He squeezed gently, then harder, and she made a sound that wasn't quite a protest.

"Shh," he murmured against her ear, his breath warm on her wet skin. "Don't scream."

She trembled in his arms. Her hands came up to grip his forearms, but she didn't push him away. Didn't claw at him. Just held on, her fingers digging into his skin as if she didn't know whether to fight or fall.

His cock slid between her thighs, the head nudging against her entrance. She was already wet — the water couldn't hide that, the slick heat of her pressing against him, inviting him in. He rocked his hips, just barely, just enough for the tip to catch on her, and she gasped again, her head falling back against his shoulder.

"You—" she breathed. "Who are you—"

"Someone who's been watching you," he said, his voice low and rough. "Someone who saw you from across the desert and knew he had to have you."

Her breath came in short, sharp bursts. Her body was caught between shock and something else — something that made her hips push back against him, seeking more. He felt it, that unconscious roll of her pelvis, and he smiled against her neck.

"You like that," he said. Not a question.

"I don't—" she started, but her voice cracked, and she couldn't finish.

He shifted his grip on her breasts, his thumbs finding her nipples and rolling them between his fingers. She whimpered, a sound that was pure surrender, and her head fell forward, her wet hair clinging to her face.

"Tell me your name," he said, his cock still just barely pressing against her, teasing her with what was coming.

"May," she whispered. "My name's May."

"May," he repeated, tasting the name. "Pretty name for a pretty girl. Now tell me, May — do you want this?"

She didn't answer. But her hips pushed back again, harder this time, and the head of his cock slipped inside her — just barely, just the tip — and they both gasped.

She was so tight. So hot. The water around them seemed to warm, and he could feel her pulse around him, that first flutter of surrender. He held perfectly still, letting her feel the stretch, the fullness, the beginning of something she couldn't take back.

"I'll take that as a yes," he breathed.

And then he pushed.

Slow. Deep. Inch by inch, he sank into her, her tight heat parting around him, welcoming him in. She cried out — a sharp, broken sound — and her hands flew to his, gripping them where they held her breasts, holding on as he filled her completely. His hips met her ass, flush against her, buried to the hilt inside her.

For a long moment, neither of them moved. The water lapped around them, the only sound her ragged breathing and the distant call of a bird. Her body trembled around him, clenching and releasing, adjusting to the invasion. He could feel every flutter of her, every pulse, and he knew she could feel him too — every inch of him, stretching her, claiming her.

"Oh," she breathed. "Oh, god."

His hands tightened on her breasts, his fingers digging into the soft flesh, using them as handles to pull her closer, to press himself deeper. She moaned, low and helpless, and her head fell back against his shoulder again, her eyes closed, her lips parted.

"You feel that?" he asked, his voice rough in her ear. "That's me inside you. That's how deep I am in your tight little pussy."

She whimpered, her hips twitching against him.

He began to move.

The first thrust was slow — a full pull-back until only the tip remained inside her, then a deep, grinding push that pressed him against her cervix. She gasped, her nails digging into his forearms, and the water around them rippled with the motion. The second thrust was the same, unhurried, deliberate, letting her feel every inch of him sliding through her slick heat.

By the third, she was pushing back to meet him.

"That's it," he encouraged, his voice a low growl. "Take it. Take all of me."

His hands kneaded her breasts as he fucked her, slow and deep, the slap of his hips against her ass echoing across the water. The sound was obscene, wet and rhythmic, and she moaned with every thrust, her head rolling, her body arching against him.

"You're so big," she gasped. "I can feel you — so deep —"

"Good," he said, and he thrust harder, making her cry out. "I want you to feel me. I want you to remember this. Remember my cock inside you, stretching you, filling you."

Her body clenched around him, a ripple of pleasure that made him groan. She was close already — he could feel it in the way she tightened, the way her breath came in short, desperate gasps. He shifted his angle, tilting his hips, and she cried out as he hit something that made her see stars.

"There," she begged. "Right there — please—"

He gave it to her. Over and over, he drove into her, his cock sliding through her slick heat, his balls slapping against her ass with every thrust. The water around them churned, splashing against their hips, and her moans grew louder, more frantic, building toward something inevitable.

And then, through the haze of pleasure, she spoke.

"Dawn—" she gasped, her voice strained. "Hilda—they're just over the dune—"

Rift stilled, buried deep inside her, and she whimpered at the loss of motion.

"What?" he asked, his voice sharp.

"They're just over the dune," she repeated, her chest heaving against his hands. "They'll hear if you're not quiet."

He looked over her shoulder, toward the distant rise of sand. There — faint, carried on the wind — he could hear it. A laugh. Dawn's laugh, bright and musical, followed by Hilda's deeper chuckle. They were close. Close enough to hear if they listened.

He looked back at May, and a slow, wicked smile spread across his face.

"Is that a challenge?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

She bit her lip, her eyes dark with arousal, and she rolled her hips against him, taking him deeper.

"Maybe," she whispered. "Can you keep me quiet?"

He answered by pulling out almost all the way — and then slamming back into her with a force that made her bite down on her own fist to stifle a scream. The water splashed around them, and he did it again, and again, each thrust harder than the last, driving her toward the edge with merciless precision.

Her body clenched around him, her thighs trembling, her breath coming in sharp, silent gasps. She was trying so hard to be quiet, her teeth sunk into her own knuckles, her eyes squeezed shut. But he could feel her coming apart around him, feel the waves of pleasure rippling through her body, and he knew she was close.

"That's it," he breathed against her ear. "Come for me. Come on my cock."

She shook her head, a desperate, frantic motion, but her body betrayed her. Her inner walls clenched around him, fluttering, squeezing, and she came with a muffled scream — a sound swallowed by her own fist, her body convulsing against him, her cunt milking his cock with rhythmic pulses.

He didn't stop. He fucked her through it, his hands gripping her breasts, his hips slapping against her ass, riding out her orgasm until she was limp in his arms, gasping, trembling.

And then he pulled out.

She whimpered at the loss, her body swaying, and he turned her around to face him. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips swollen, her eyes hazy with pleasure. She looked up at him, and there was something in her gaze — a dawning awareness, a recognition that went beyond the physical.

"Who are you?" she asked again, her voice soft and wondering.

He cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs tracing her cheekbones, and he leaned in to kiss her — slow, deep, possessive. She melted into him, her hands coming up to grip his shoulders, and when he finally pulled back, she was breathless.

"I'm Rift," he said. "And you're coming with me."

Her eyes widened. "What?"

He smiled, and the anchor in his chest pulsed — once, twice, a rhythm that matched the hum he could feel building in her. She gasped, her hand flying to her own chest, her eyes going wide.

"What is that?" she breathed. "What did you do to me?"

"Something wonderful," he said. "Something that's going to change everything."

He looked past her, toward the dune where Dawn and Hilda were still laughing, still unaware. Then he looked back at May, at her flushed cheeks and parted lips, and he felt the familiar hunger rise in him.

There would be time for the others. Time for the house, for the claiming, for the full ritual of the rift-touch. But right now, standing in the warm water with the sun sinking low, he had everything he needed in his arms.

He pulled her close, his cock pressing against her belly, and he whispered against her ear.

"Let's go home."

Part 2:

The lamp on her nightstand cast a warm pool of light across the bedspread, catching the crease where she'd been sitting for the better part of an hour. Serena's fingers twisted the hem of her shirt—black cotton, soft from washing, the blue bow in her hair already loosened from where she'd been tugging at it.

She'd told herself she wasn't waiting for anyone.

The room felt smaller tonight. The posters on her walls—performers she admired, stages she'd dreamed of—seemed to watch her with the same quiet expectation that had been coiling in her chest all evening. She'd tried to rehearse. Tried to run through her routine for the next showcase, her feet tracing familiar patterns across the carpet. But her mind kept drifting to the strange hum she'd felt earlier, a vibration that had nothing to do with her music.

The knock came as two quick raps.

Not casual. Not the easy rhythm of a friend stopping by. Familiar, but weighted—like someone who knew exactly whose door he was knocking on.

Serena rose. Her legs felt unsteady, though she hadn't moved in minutes. She crossed the room slowly, her bare feet silent on the carpet, and paused with her hand on the latch. Through the thin panel of the door, she could hear breathing. Steady. Waiting.

She opened it.

Rift stood on her threshold, one shoulder leaning against the frame like he'd been there for hours instead of seconds. His black hair was tousled, wind-tossed in a way that suggested he'd stepped through something rougher than a hallway. His boots were scuffed—dust on the toes, a scuff mark across the right instep that hadn't been there the last time she'd seen him. His emerald eyes found hers immediately, and the cocky grin that usually lived on his face was absent.

He looked at her like he was memorizing her.

"Serena."

Her name in his mouth sounded different than it had before. Heavier.

"Kai." She kept her voice level, though her heart had picked up a rhythm that had nothing to do with rehearsal. "You're back."

"I said I would be."

"You said a lot of things."

Something flickered in his gaze—not guilt, exactly. Recognition. He knew he'd left her with promises that had no expiration date, and he'd let them sit anyway.

"Can I come in?"

She should have asked him what he wanted. Should have made him explain the hum she'd felt in her chest since the first time they'd met, the way her pulse seemed to sync with something invisible when he was near. But the words didn't come. Instead, she stepped back, pulling the door wider.

He crossed the threshold, and the room seemed to shrink around him. He filled the space differently than she remembered—not with bulk, but with presence. The air changed when he entered, charged with something she couldn't name.

His boots scuffed against her floor. The sound was loud in the quiet room.

He stopped an arm's length from her, close enough that she could smell the air around him—something foreign, not from her world. A hint of ozone, maybe. Or something warmer. Something that made her think of open skies and places she'd never seen.

She didn't ask about it.

The door clicked shut behind him, and the latch engaged with a sound that seemed to hang in the air between them.

Serena's breath caught.

The click was final in a way that made her acutely aware of the walls around them, the privacy of the room, the bed behind her with its rumpled sheets and the lamp still glowing warm. They were alone. The door was closed. And Rift was looking at her with an intensity that made her forget the questions she'd been saving.

"You've been thinking about me," he said. Not a question.

"I've been thinking about a lot of things."

"But mostly me."

She wanted to deny it. The words sat on her tongue, ready to deflect, to tease, to keep the upper hand she'd always maintained with him. But something in his posture—the weight in his shoulders, the way his hands hung loose at his sides instead of reaching for her—made her hesitate.

"What are you doing here, Kai?"

He took a breath. Let it out slowly. His eyes never left hers.

"I came to see you."

"That's not an answer."

"It's the only one I have."

She crossed her arms, a defensive gesture she knew he'd read. "You show up after—how long has it been?—and you expect me to just—"

"I don't expect anything." His voice was quiet. Earnest in a way she hadn't heard from him before. "I just needed to see you. To make sure you were—" He stopped, searching for the word.

"Okay?" she offered.

"Real."

The word landed between them like a stone in still water.

"What does that mean?"

Rift's jaw tightened. He looked away for a moment, at the posters on her wall, at the window with its dark glass reflecting the lamp's glow. When he looked back, the cocky grin was gone entirely, replaced by something raw.

"I've been a lot of places," he said. "Seen a lot of things. Met a lot of people." He paused. "But there's something about you, Serena. Something I can't shake."

Her arms loosened. She didn't mean for them to.

"You barely know me."

"I know enough."

"That's not—" She shook her head, frustrated. "You can't just show up and say things like that. You can't just—"

"I know." He stepped closer. Not quite touching, but the space between them shrank to a breath. "I know I don't get to do that. I know I've got no right to ask anything of you." His voice dropped. "But I'm here anyway."

Serena's throat tightened. She could feel the heat of him, inches away. Could see the faint glow of the tattoos beneath his collar, the ones she'd only caught glimpses of before.

"Why?"

He was quiet for a long moment. The lamp flickered—just a bulb settling, but it made the shadows dance across his face.

"Because I think you're meant for something," he said finally. "Something bigger than this room. Bigger than the stages you're dreaming about." He paused. "And I think I'm meant to help you find it."

Her laugh came out brittle. "That's a line."

"It's not."

"It sounds like one."

"I'm not trying to sell you anything, Serena." His eyes held hers, steady and unblinking. "I'm just telling you the truth."

She wanted to argue. Wanted to point out all the ways this didn't make sense—a stranger who appeared out of nowhere, who knew things he shouldn't, who made her feel like she was standing on the edge of something she couldn't see. But the words died in her throat.

Because she believed him.

That was the terrifying part.

"What are you offering me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rift's hand lifted. Slow, deliberate, giving her every chance to pull away. His fingers brushed the strand of hair that had fallen across her face, tucking it gently behind her ear. The touch was featherlight, but it sent a shiver down her spine that had nothing to do with cold.

"I'm not offering anything," he said. "I'm just here. Right now. With you."

His hand lingered near her cheek, not quite touching. The gesture promised something—intimacy, connection—but stopped short of claiming it.

Serena's breath came shallow. The room felt warmer than it had a moment ago. The space between them hummed with something unspoken, a tension that had been building since the first time their eyes met.

"What do you want from me, Kai?"

His thumb traced the curve of her cheekbone, barely there. "I want to see who you become."

"That's not—"

"It's the only answer I have."

She should have stepped back. Should have put distance between them, reclaimed the space he'd invaded with his presence and his words and his impossible certainty. But her feet wouldn't move.

"You can't just show up and turn my whole world upside down," she said, her voice cracking. "You can't just—"

"I know." His hand dropped to his side. The loss of contact felt like a physical absence. "I know I'm asking a lot. I know I don't deserve—"

"Stop." She pressed her palm against his chest, feeling the warmth of him through his shirt. The tattoos beneath her hand seemed to pulse, faint and warm, like they were responding to her touch. "Stop apologizing."

His eyes searched hers. "Then tell me what you want."

Serena's heart hammered against her ribs. The question hung between them, heavy with possibility. She could feel the weight of it—the choice she was about to make, the line she was about to cross.

She looked at him. At the tousled hair and the emerald eyes and the quiet intensity that had replaced his usual swagger. At the man who had appeared in her life like a story she hadn't asked to be part of.

"I want to understand," she said. "I want to know why I can't stop thinking about you."

His breath caught. Just barely, but she saw it—the crack in his composure, the vulnerability he'd been hiding behind his careful calm.

"I can't give you answers," he said. "Not the kind you're looking for."

"Then give me something else."

The words hung in the air between them, charged with meaning she hadn't fully intended. Rift's eyes darkened, the playful light in them dimming into something deeper, hungrier.

"Serena—"

"Don't." She shook her head, her voice steadier than she felt. "Don't tell me this is a mistake. Don't tell me we should slow down. I've been waiting—" She stopped, swallowing hard. "I've been waiting for something to feel real. And this—" She gestured between them, helpless. "This feels real."

He was quiet for a long moment. The lamp flickered again, casting shadows across his face that made him look older, wearier.

"I'm not a good man," he said finally. "I've done things I'm not proud of. I've hurt people—maybe not on purpose, but I've hurt them. And I don't know if I can give you what you deserve."

"I'm not asking for what I deserve." She stepped closer, closing the distance he'd left between them. "I'm asking for what I want."

His jaw tightened. The muscles in his neck corded as he held himself still, fighting some internal battle she couldn't see.

"You don't know what you're asking for."

"Then show me."

The words came out stronger than she expected. Bolder. She saw the effect they had on him—the way his breath caught, the way his hands twitched at his sides, the way the air between them seemed to thicken with tension.

"Serena." Her name was a warning now, rough-edged and strained.

She didn't back down. "You came here for a reason, Kai. You said I was meant for something bigger. So show me what that means."

His eyes searched hers for a long moment, looking for something she wasn't sure she had. Then something shifted in his expression—a decision made, a line crossed.

He reached for her.

His hand cupped the back of her neck, warm and sure, pulling her gently toward him. His forehead pressed against hers, their breath mingling in the space between.

"You're going to be the death of me," he murmured.

Serena's hands found his chest, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt. "Then we'll go together."

His laugh was soft, almost sad. "That's not—"

"I know." She rose on her toes, her lips brushing his as she spoke. "I know."

The kiss was soft at first. Questioning. His mouth moved against hers with a gentleness that belied the hunger she could feel in his trembling hands. But then she pressed closer, and something broke loose in both of them.

His arms wrapped around her, pulling her against him. The kiss deepened, turned urgent, turned desperate. His tongue swept against hers, tasting, claiming, and she met him with equal fervor, her fingers tangling in his hair.

The lamp cast their shadows long across the bedspread, two figures tangled together on the edge of something neither of them could name.

When they finally broke apart, both breathing hard, Rift's forehead rested against hers. His eyes were closed, his voice rough when he spoke.

"I'm not going to take you with me."

The words landed like a blow. Serena stiffened, pulling back to look at him. "What?"

He opened his eyes. The vulnerability was still there, raw and unguarded. "I came here to tell you that. I'm not going to take you with me."

"I don't understand." Her voice was thin, fragile. "You said—"

"I know what I said." He stepped back, running a hand through his hair. "And I meant it. You are meant for something bigger. But it's not with me."

Serena's chest ached. The warmth of a moment ago had turned cold, leaving her exposed and confused. "Then why did you come here?"

Rift's laugh was hollow. "Because I'm selfish. Because I wanted to see you one more time. Because I thought—" He stopped, shaking his head. "I don't know what I thought."

"Kai—"

"There's someone else." The words came out flat, final. "Someone you're supposed to find. And I'm not going to stand in the way of that."

Serena's mind raced. "What are you talking about? There's no one—"

"There is." His eyes met hers, filled with something she couldn't read. "You just haven't met him yet."

The words hung between them, heavy with implication. Serena's heart pounded in her chest, a wild rhythm that matched the confusion swirling in her head.

"I don't understand," she said again, hating how small her voice sounded.

Rift stepped closer, cupping her face in his hands. His thumbs traced her cheekbones, gentle and reverent. "You will," he said softly. "When the time is right, you'll understand everything."

"That's not an answer."

"It's the only one I have."

He kissed her again—soft, lingering, a promise and a goodbye all at once. When he pulled back, his eyes were bright with something she couldn't name.

"His name is Ash," Rift said quietly. "And he's going to be the one who deserves you."

Serena's breath caught. The name echoed in her mind, unfamiliar and yet somehow resonant, like a chord she'd heard in a dream.

"Ash," she repeated, testing the weight of it.

Rift nodded. "He's out there. And when you find him—" He paused, a ghost of his usual grin flickering across his face. "When you find him, you'll know."

He stepped back, toward the door. The lamp's glow caught the tattoos on his neck, the faint pulse of light beneath his skin.

"Wait." Serena reached for him, catching his wrist. "You can't just—you can't tell me something like that and leave."

Rift looked down at her hand on his arm. Gently, he turned it over, pressing a kiss to her palm.

"I'm not leaving," he said. "I'm just letting you go."

The words hit her like a wave. "That doesn't make any sense."

"It will." He released her hand, stepping back to the door. His fingers found the latch, and he paused, looking back at her one last time. "You're going to do amazing things, Serena. I can see it in you. And when you're ready—when you've found him—I'll be there. Watching."

He opened the door, and the hallway light spilled in, harsh and bright after the warm dimness of her room.

"Kai—"

He smiled. It was a real smile, soft and sad and full of something she couldn't name. "Goodbye, Serena."

The door clicked shut behind him, and she was alone.

The lamp still glowed. The bedspread still bore the crease where she'd been sitting. The room was exactly as it had been before he arrived—and completely different.

Serena stood in the center of it, her hand still raised where he'd kissed her palm, and she whispered the name into the quiet air.

"Ash."

The word felt like a beginning.

Part 3:

The porch boards were warm under his bare feet, the grain worn smooth by seasons he couldn't count. Rift let the cigarette burn low between his fingers, watching the ember flare orange against the gathering dusk. The house breathed behind him—cedar and something older, the memory of women who'd passed through its rooms. Misty was inside, probably asleep. Dawn was reading somewhere. Hilda had been in the kitchen an hour ago, raiding his pantry like she owned the place.

He almost smiled at that. They did own it, in a way. Every woman he'd brought here had left a piece of herself in the walls.

His phone buzzed against the porch rail. He picked it up, thumb swiping across the screen.

The message was from Liko: We're at the stadium — Nemona's about to battle. You coming?

He read it twice. The second time, he could hear the crowd behind the words, the distant roar of a stadium full of people who didn't know they were background noise to something bigger.

Rift took a long drag, letting the smoke curl out of his mouth in a slow stream. The anchor in his chest hummed—not the sharp pull of a new signature, but something softer. Familiar. He'd met Liko a few weeks ago, a chance crossing in a world that smelled like ozone and battle. She'd been bright-eyed and curious, full of questions he'd deflected with a grin and a wink. He'd felt the thread between them, thin but present, and he'd let it play out slowly. Liko was the kind of girl who needed the chase.

And Nemona. He'd only caught glimpses of her from across the arena floor—dark teal ponytail, golden eyes that burned with battle lust, a grin that said she'd already won before the match started. She was a champion. She was also, from what he could tell, absolutely insatiable when it came to a challenge.

His cock stirred at the thought. He didn't fight it.

The phone buzzed again. Another message from Liko: Nemona says she'll take on anyone. Even you.

Rift laughed, a low sound that carried across the empty porch. He stubbed the cigarette out on the rail, leaving a black scar on the wood, and stood. The cedar scent clung to his shirt as he stretched, rolling his shoulders. He could feel the rift energy already gathering in his fingertips, a familiar tingle that ran up his arms and settled behind his sternum.

"Anyone," he repeated to the empty air. "We'll see about that."

The house seemed to hold its breath as he walked to the edge of the porch. He could feel the women inside—Misty's sharp presence, Dawn's quiet warmth, Hilda's restless energy. They were his. They'd chosen this. And tonight, he was going to bring home two more.

He didn't feel guilty about it. That wasn't what this was. The house was big, and his appetite was bigger, and the women who came here understood. They'd felt the pull, the same hum in their chests that he felt now, and they'd chosen to follow it.

Rift closed his eyes and reached for the thread. It was easy, almost instinctive now—a tug on the fabric of reality that split the air in front of him. The rift opened with a sound like tearing silk, light spilling through the edges in shades of gold and blue. He stepped through.

The world reformed around him in a rush of noise and color.

The stadium concourse was a cathedral of concrete and fluorescent light, the air cool against his skin after the warm porch. The smell hit him first—popcorn, butter-slick and salty, tangled with the sharp tang of spilled soda and the faint metallic bite of the crowd's sweat. Voices echoed off the walls, a hundred conversations layered over each other, and somewhere beyond the concourse, a roar went up from the arena.

Rift let the sound wash over him. He'd been in a hundred stadiums across a hundred worlds, but this one felt different. The energy in the air was electric, charged with something more than just a battle.

He moved through the crowd, letting his shoulders brush past bodies, his eyes scanning the concourse. The muffled roar of the crowd leaked through the walls, swelling and falling like a tide. He could feel the anchor in his chest pulsing, drawn toward the arena floor, toward the two signatures he'd come for.

And then he saw them.

Across the concourse, near the entrance to the arena seating, Liko was waving at him. Her strawberry-blonde hair caught the light, her green eyes bright with excitement, a grin splitting her face as she bounced on her heels. She was wearing the white and red outfit he remembered, the pendant at her throat catching the light.

And beside her, Nemona.

She was mid-pokeball toss, her arm raised, her body coiled with energy. Her dark teal ponytail whipped as she turned, and her golden eyes locked onto him with a heat that made his breath catch. She was all sharp lines and fierce angles, her athletic build barely contained by the black and yellow jacket she wore over a crop top. Fingerless gloves. Cargo shorts. A grin that promised violence and something else entirely.

Rift felt the energy in his fingertips surge.

He could feel them both, the threads of their signatures winding around his anchor. Liko's was bright and curious, a new thing still learning its shape. Nemona's was a blaze, a fire that burned hot and hungry. She was a champion, and she'd never met a challenge she didn't want to conquer.

He was about to become one.

The plan was already forming in his mind, sharp and clear. He'd clone them both—the originals sent home with no memory of the night, the clones brought back to his house, where they'd remember everything. It was the same move he'd used on Misty, on Dawn, on Hilda. It worked every time.

But Nemona would be different. He could already feel it, the way her energy crackled against his. She wasn't going to be a gentle seduction. She was going to be a battle, a war fought with bodies instead of pokeballs.

And he was going to win.

Liko's voice cut through the crowd noise. "Rift! You made it!"

She was already moving toward him, weaving through the crowd, her grin bright and unguarded. Nemona followed at a slower pace, her eyes never leaving his face, a smile playing at the corner of her mouth that was equal parts challenge and invitation.

"Wouldn't miss it," he said, his voice easy, his eyes tracking Nemona's approach. "Nemona's about to battle, huh? Who's she up against?"

"Some trainer from the next region over," Liko said, bouncing to a stop in front of him. "He's supposed to be really good. But Nemona's—"

"Going to crush him," Nemona finished, stepping up beside Liko. Her voice was low, rough, a growl wrapped in silk. She looked him up and down, taking in the lean build, the tousled black hair, the emerald eyes that held her gaze. "You're the one Liko's been talking about. The traveler."

"That's me." He held out his hand. "Kai. But my friends call me Rift."

She took his hand, her grip firm, her skin warm against his. "Nemona. Champion of Paldea."

"I know." He let his thumb brush across her knuckles, just once, just enough to feel the electric tingle of her skin against his. "I've heard a lot about you."

"All good things, I hope." Her grin widened, sharp and hungry.

"The best."

The crowd roared somewhere beyond the concourse wall, a wave of sound that washed over them. Nemona's eyes flicked toward the arena, then back to him. "You here to watch me fight?"

"Maybe." He let the word hang. "Or maybe I'm here for something else."

Her golden eyes narrowed, a spark of interest igniting behind them. "Something else?"

Rift felt the energy in his fingertips surge, the air around them beginning to shimmer. He could see the moment Nemona noticed it—her pupils dilated, her body tensing, every instinct she had screaming that something was about to happen. Liko was still looking at him, her head tilted, her bright green eyes curious.

"Rift?" Liko's voice was soft, questioning. "What's—"

He raised his hand.

The air around them split open, light spilling through the edges in shades of gold and blue. The crowd noise faded, replaced by the hum of dimensional energy, the smell of ozone and cedar. Nemona's eyes went wide, her hand dropping to the pokeball at her belt, but it was too late.

The rift opened, and the world fell away.

There was no falling, not really. Just a tearing sensation, a moment where the world folded in on itself like a page being turned, and then the hard press of cedar boards under his feet again. The house caught them gently, the way it always did, the walls exhaling a breath of recognition as three bodies materialized in the entry hall.

Liko stumbled, her hand finding his arm for balance. Her green eyes were wide, darting around the unfamiliar space—the high ceilings, the warm wood, the strange soft light that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at once. "Rift, where—what is this place?"

Nemona didn't stumble. She stood perfectly still, her golden eyes sweeping the room with the focused intensity of a predator assessing new territory. Her hand was still on the pokeball at her belt, but she hadn't drawn it. Instead, she was looking at him, really looking, and there was something in her gaze that wasn't fear or confusion. It was interest.

"Welcome to my home," Rift said, stepping back to give them space. The house hummed around them, curious, reaching out to taste these new presences. He felt it brush against Liko first—bright and questioning—then against Nemona, where it met a wall of competitive fire that made the walls themselves seem to lean back. "Between dimensions. The only place like it."

"You teleported us," Nemona said. Not a question. Her voice was flat, but her eyes were alive with calculation. "Without a pokemon. Without a machine. Just—" she gestured at the air where the rift had been, "—you."

"That's the short version."

"What's the long version?"

Rift smiled, slow and easy, letting her see the hunger behind it. "The long version involves a lot of worlds, a lot of women, and a house that remembers every one of them." He let that land, watching her process it. "You're not the first I've brought here. You won't be the last."

Liko's hand tightened on his arm. "Women? Rift, what are you talking about?"

He turned to her, softening his voice. "Liko. You trusted me enough to come here. Let me show you what that trust means."

He could feel them approaching before he heard them—Misty's sharp footsteps, Dawn's quiet grace, Hilda's heavier tread. They emerged from the hallway that led to the bedrooms, three women in various states of casual dress, and paused at the sight of the newcomers.

Misty raised an eyebrow, her cerulean eyes flicking from Liko to Nemona and back to Rift. "New ones?"

"New ones," he confirmed.

Hilda grinned, her gray eyes bright with amusement. "You work fast."

Dawn said nothing, but her hand drifted to her belly, a gesture she still didn't seem to know she was making, and her sapphire eyes held a quiet welcome.

Nemona looked at the three women, then back at Rift, and something shifted in her expression. The wariness faded, replaced by a sharp, assessing interest. "This is your collection," she said. "You bring women here and keep them."

"They stay because they choose to." He met her gaze, letting her see the truth of it. "Because once you feel the rift-touch, once you carry a piece of me inside you, the rest of the world feels like a pale copy."

"Rift-touch." She tasted the word. "And what does that feel like?"

He stepped closer, close enough to feel the heat of her body, the electric crackle of her energy against his skin. "It feels like hunger. Like a thread tied to your heart that pulls you toward me, no matter how far you go." He reached out, slow, giving her time to pull away, and brushed his fingers against her jaw. "Like knowing that you've finally found a challenge worth fighting for."

Nemona's breath caught. Her golden eyes blazed, and for a moment he thought she might punch him. Instead, she grabbed the front of his shirt and yanked him down to her level.

"Then show me," she said, her voice a growl. "Show me what a challenge feels like."

Rift grinned, and the house seemed to lean in around them, eager to witness what came next.

He kissed her. Not gentle, not tentative—a claiming kiss that swallowed her breath and gave back heat. She responded in kind, her hands fisting in his shirt, her body pressing against his with a force that would have staggered a lesser man. He could feel her energy crackling against his skin, a wild, electric thing that demanded to be matched.

He matched it.

His hands found her hips, gripping hard, pulling her flush against him. She made a sound low in her throat—not a whimper, not a moan, but something fiercer, a challenge accepted. Her teeth caught his lower lip, sharp and demanding, and he answered with a growl of his own.

Around them, the other women watched. Liko stood frozen, her green eyes wide, her lips parted. Misty crossed her arms, a knowing smile playing at the corner of her mouth. Hilda let out a low whistle. Dawn's hand still rested on her belly, but her eyes were on Rift, dark with understanding.

Nemona pulled back just far enough to speak, her voice rough. "I don't share."

"You do here." He didn't soften it. "This house is big enough for all of us. And you'll find you want it that way, once you feel what I can give you."

Her golden eyes searched his, looking for the lie. She didn't find one. Something in her posture shifted, a crack in the armor he could feel more than see. "Prove it," she said.

Rift took her hand and led her toward the bedroom, the house humming its approval around them.

The bedroom door swung shut behind them, and the house seemed to draw a breath—the walls settling, the soft light dimming to something warmer, more intimate. Nemona's hand was still wrapped around his, her grip fierce, and he could feel the heat of her skin against his palm, electric and demanding. She let go only to shove him backward, hard enough that he stumbled against the foot of the bed.

"You talk a big game, traveler," she said, her voice low and rough. She shrugged off her black and yellow jacket, letting it fall to the floor in a heap. The crop top underneath rode up, exposing a strip of toned, tan stomach. "Let's see if you can back it up."

Rift watched her, letting the hunger show in his eyes. She was all coiled muscle and fierce angles, her golden eyes blazing with challenge. She reached for the hem of her crop top and pulled it over her head in one smooth motion, revealing a black sports bra that did nothing to hide the firm swell of her breasts.

"I've been known to hold my own," he said, his voice easy, even as his cock stiffened against his jeans. "But I should warn you—I don't lose."

"Neither do I." She stepped out of her cargo shorts, kicking them aside. Her legs were long and powerful, her thighs carrying the definition of someone who'd spent years training. She stood there in her sports bra and black underwear, arms crossed, chin lifted, a queen surveying a battlefield. "So one of us is about to be very disappointed."

Rift closed the distance between them in two quick strides. His hands found her hips, pulling her flush against him, and he felt the electric crackle of her energy against his skin. "I don't think you'll be disappointed," he murmured, his mouth close to her ear. "I think you'll find I exceed expectations."

Her answer was a growl, low and fierce, as she shoved him again. He let himself fall backward onto the bed, landing on his back, and she was on him in an instant—straddling his hips, her thighs gripping his waist, her hands pressed flat against his chest. The glow of his tattoos seeped through his shirt, and she felt it, her eyes widening for just a moment before the hunger took over.

"These," she said, dragging her fingers across the glowing lines. "What are they?"

"Maps," he said, his voice thick. "Everywhere I've been. Everywhere I'm going."

Her fingers traced the lines, following them down his chest, and she leaned in close, her breath hot against his skin. "And what's at the end of them?"

"Right here," he said. "With you."

She kissed him then, hard and demanding, her teeth catching his lower lip. He answered in kind, his hands finding the clasp of her sports bra and undoing it with a practiced flick. She pulled back just long enough to let it fall away, and then her breasts were pressed against his chest, her nipples hard, her skin hot.

He rolled them over, pinning her beneath him, and she let out a sharp, excited laugh. "There he is," she said. "I was wondering when you'd stop playing nice."

"I don't play nice," he said, his mouth finding her throat, her collarbone, the swell of her breast. She arched into him, her fingers digging into his shoulders, and he could feel her pulse racing against his lips.

"Good," she breathed. "Neither do I."

Her hands went to his belt, undoing it with the efficiency of someone who knew exactly what she wanted. She tugged his jeans down, her fingers wrapping around his cock before he could even kick them off, and she let out a low whistle.

"Well," she said, stroking him, feeling the weight and heat of him. "That's a weapon I didn't expect."

Rift laughed, a low sound that rumbled through his chest. "Glad to meet your approval."

"Approval's not the word." She squeezed, just hard enough to make his breath catch. "I'm about to wage a war with this thing."

She pushed him onto his back and moved down his body, her mouth leaving a trail of heat across his stomach, her fingers still wrapped around his cock. She paused at the base, looking up at him with those blazing golden eyes, and then she took him into her mouth.

Rift's head fell back, a groan tearing from his throat. She was skilled, her tongue tracing the length of him, her lips sealing around the head before she took him deeper. She didn't rush, didn't settle for a quick tease—she worked him with a hungry, methodical determination, her hand pumping the base while her mouth glided over the rest.

"Fuck," he breathed, his fingers finding her hair, tangling in the dark teal ponytail. "You're going to ruin me."

She pulled off just long enough to grin at him, her lips slick. "That's the plan."

Then she took him again, deeper this time, her throat relaxing to take him all the way to the root. He felt the back of her throat against the head of his cock, felt her swallow around him, and his hips bucked involuntarily. She held him there, her nose pressed against his pelvis, her golden eyes locked on his, and the sight of it—a champion on her knees, her mouth full of him—was almost enough to make him come right there.

But he held it back. He had plans for her.

He pulled her off gently, his hands cupping her face. "Not yet," he said, his voice rough. "I want to be inside you when I come."

Her grin was sharp and hungry. "Then get to it."

He flipped her onto her back, spreading her thighs with his knees, and looked down at her. She was beautiful like this—all fierce energy and bare skin, her chest rising and falling with quick breaths, her golden eyes blazing with anticipation. He reached down, hooking his fingers into the waistband of her underwear, and pulled them off slowly, letting the anticipation build.

She was already wet. He could see it, the slick gleam of her arousal catching the dim light, and the sight made his cock throb. He leaned down, his mouth finding her inner thigh, working his way up with slow, deliberate kisses.

"Don't tease," she warned, her voice strained.

"Where's the fun in rushing?" He dragged his tongue along her slit, tasting her, and she shuddered. He did it again, slower, savoring the way her hips bucked against his mouth, the way her fingers twisted in the sheets.

"Rift—"

He pushed two fingers into her, curling them, finding the spot that made her gasp. She was tight, hot, her walls clenching around him, and he worked her with a steady rhythm, his mouth still on her clit, his tongue flicking against it until she was writhing beneath him.

"I'm close," she panted, her voice ragged. "Fuck, I'm—"

He pulled back just before she tipped over, leaving her trembling and desperate. "Not yet," he said, his voice low. "I want you to come on my cock."

She cursed him, a string of words that made him laugh, and then he was positioning himself between her thighs, the head of his cock pressing against her entrance. Her golden eyes locked on his, and there was a moment of stillness—a heartbeat where the challenge hung between them, electric and alive.

"Prove it," she said.

He thrust into her in one smooth motion, burying himself to the hilt. She cried out, her back arching, her nails raking down his shoulders. She was tight, so tight, her walls gripping him like a fist, and he had to pause, his forehead pressed to hers, to keep from coming on the spot.

"Fuck," he breathed. "You feel incredible."

"You too," she gasped. "Now move."

He did. Slow at first, a deep, grinding rhythm that made her moan with every thrust. Then faster, harder, the bed creaking beneath them, the sound of their bodies slapping together filling the room. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him deeper, and he felt her pussy clench around him, felt her approaching the edge again.

"Come for me," he growled, his mouth against her ear. "Come on my cock."

She did, her body convulsing beneath him, her walls milking him, and the sensation was too much. He buried himself deep and came, his cock pulsing inside her, flooding her with heat. She gasped, her eyes widening, and he felt her tighten around him again, riding out the aftershocks.

He pulled out, his cock still hard, and rolled her onto her stomach. She went willingly, lifting her hips, presenting herself to him, and he didn't hesitate. He pushed into her from behind, her wetness making it easy, and she moaned, her face pressed into the pillow.

He fucked her like that, hard and fast, his hands gripping her hips, his eyes on the place where they joined. She was so wet, so slick, and the sound of it filled the room—the wet slap of skin on skin, her breathless moans, his own ragged breathing.

He came inside her again, emptying another load into her, and she shuddered, her pussy clenching around him. But he didn't stop. He pulled out, turned her onto her back, and pushed into her again, his cock still hard, still hungry.

"You're insatiable," she breathed, her voice thick with pleasure.

"You have no idea."

He fucked her through three more orgasms, each one driving him closer to the edge, each one filling her with more of his cum. By the time he pulled out for the fifth time, she was trembling, her body slick with sweat, her golden eyes hazy with pleasure.

"I need a minute," she said, her voice barely a whisper.

"No you don't." He knelt between her thighs, lifting her hips, pushing into her again. She cried out, but it was a sound of pleasure, not protest. "I'm not done with you yet."

He fucked her twice more, each time driving her to the edge and over, each time filling her with another load. By the seventh, he was spent, his body trembling, his cock finally softening inside her. He pulled out, collapsing beside her, and she rolled onto her side, her hand finding his chest, tracing the glowing tattoos.

"Okay," she said, her voice hoarse. "I'll admit it. That was a challenge worth fighting."

He laughed, a low, exhausted sound. "Told you."

But before he could catch his breath, the bedroom door opened. Misty stood in the doorway, her arms crossed, a knowing smile on her face. Behind her, Dawn and Hilda lingered, their eyes dark with intent.

"You didn't think you were done, did you?" Misty said, stepping into the room. "You brought two new girls home. You don't get to hide in here and keep all the fun to yourself."

Hilda grinned, already pulling her shirt over her head. "We heard you. Sounded like you were having a good time."

Nemona's eyes widened, but there was no fear in them—only a sharp, competitive interest. "You're all his?"

"And you're about to be," Dawn said, her voice soft but firm. She moved to the bed, her hand finding Rift's chest, pushing him onto his back. "But first, we're going to make sure he remembers what he's got waiting for him at home."

Rift looked up at the three women surrounding him, their eyes hungry, and felt his cock stir again despite the exhaustion. "You're going to kill me," he said.

"Probably," Misty said, her smile sharp. "But you'll die happy."

She straddled his face, her thighs framing his head, and he got the message. Hilda took his cock in her mouth, her lips sealing around him, and Dawn climbed on top of him, positioning herself above his face. The three of them worked together, a well-practiced team, and Rift surrendered to it.

He ate Misty out while Hilda sucked him, his tongue finding her clit, her hips grinding against his face. Dawn lowered herself onto his mouth, and he tasted her too, his tongue pushing inside her. Their moans filled the room, a chorus of pleasure, and he felt himself approaching the edge again.

"Don't you dare come yet," Hilda warned, pulling off just long enough to speak. "We're not done with you."

Misty climbed off his face, and Dawn took her place, positioning herself above his cock. She sank down onto him with a moan, her walls gripping him, and Hilda moved up to straddle his face. He ate her out while Dawn rode him, his hands gripping her hips, his body responding despite the exhaustion.

They traded places, each of them taking their turn, each of them riding him until he came inside them. Misty was next, then Hilda, then Dawn again, and by the time they were done, he was spent, his body limp, his cock finally soft.

Nemona watched from the side, her eyes wide, her hand between her thighs. She was touching herself, her fingers moving in a steady rhythm, and when she came, she cried out his name.

Rift looked at her, a weak smile on his face. "See? I told you. You'll find you want it this way."

She crawled over to him, pressing a kiss to his lips. "Yeah," she said, her voice soft. "I think I do."

He closed his eyes, the weight of the women around him a warm, familiar pressure. The house hummed its approval, the walls seeming to breathe, and he let himself drift. The rift-touch had taken hold. Nemona was his now.

And somewhere in the house, the originals were waiting to be sent home.

The house settled around them, a satisfied hum vibrating through the walls like a purr. Rift lay in the center of the bed, four women draped across him like a tapestry of warm skin and tangled limbs. Nemona's head rested on his chest, her finger tracing lazy circles over his glowing tattoos. Misty had claimed the crook of his arm, her ponytail loose and spilling across his shoulder. Dawn and Hilda had curled together at his side, their breathing already evening into sleep.

He should have been spent. He was spent — every muscle in his body felt like it had been wrung out and hung to dry. But his fingers kept moving, tracing the curve of Nemona's spine, feeling the faint tremor that still ran through her. She was new to this, new to him, and there was something in the way she held herself that made him want to learn her all over again.

"You're thinking," she said, her voice muffled against his skin.

"I'm always thinking."

"About what?"

He didn't answer. His eyes drifted to the door, left ajar when Misty had swept in. Beyond it, the hallway stretched into the dim, breathing dark of the house. Somewhere in that dark, two doors were closed. Two women he'd brought here, waiting.

Nemona followed his gaze. "The originals."

"Yeah."

"You're going to send them home."

"That's the deal." He said it like it cost him nothing. Like it was just logistics, a transaction, the way he'd done it a hundred times. But Nemona had already seen the way his thumb kept stroking her hip, the way he held his women close even in sleep.

"But?" she prompted.

He laughed, a low, tired sound. "No but. It's just... Liko's young. She doesn't deserve to wake up in a stranger's bed with no memory of how she got here."

"And May?"

Rift's jaw tightened. May. The girl with amber eyes and a red bandana who'd met him in the water with a challenge in her gaze and a soft, curious hunger beneath it. He'd felt the anchor pulse when he claimed her, felt her chest answer in kind. She was his now, the same way Nemona was his, the same way all of them were his.

But the original — the one who'd never know his name, never feel the rift-touch settle into her bones — she was still here. Still whole. Still untouched by everything he'd done to her clone.

"May's different," he said finally.

"Because you want her to stay."

"Because she deserves a choice."

Nemona lifted her head, her golden eyes sharp in the dim light. "You didn't give me a choice."

"I gave you a challenge." He met her gaze, unflinching. "You chose to take it."

She held his stare for a long moment, then something in her face softened. She pressed a kiss to the center of his chest, where the anchor hummed beneath his skin. "Fine. But you're not going to get any sleep tonight, are you?"

"No." He eased out from under her, careful not to wake the others. His body protested, every joint aching, but he moved anyway, pulling on his pants, padding barefoot to the door. "Stay. Rest. I'll be back before you miss me."

"You're already gone and I miss you," she said, but there was a smile in her voice.

He slipped into the hallway, the door clicking shut behind him. The house hummed around him, aware, watchful. He could feel it in the walls, in the floorboards beneath his feet — the echo of every woman who'd ever walked these halls, the memory of every night they'd spent tangled in his sheets. The house remembered them all. It would remember May too, and Liko, whether they stayed or not.

He found Liko's door first. He knew it by the light spilling from beneath it — a soft, warm glow that hadn't been there when he'd passed it earlier. He knocked, once, twice.

"Come in." Her voice was small but steady.

He pushed the door open. Liko sat on the edge of the bed, still dressed in her white and red outfit, her pendant glowing faintly against her collarbone. She looked up at him with those green eyes, curious and unafraid, and he felt something twist in his chest.

"You're awake," he said.

"I couldn't sleep." She smoothed her skirt, a nervous gesture. "This place is... it's like it's alive."

"It is."

She nodded slowly, accepting that like she'd accepted everything else tonight — the rift, the house, the women, the strange hum that had been pulling at her chest since the moment she'd arrived. "You're going to send me home, aren't you?"

"Yes."

"Will I remember any of this?"

He shook his head. "No. You'll wake up in your own bed, in your own world, with no memory of tonight. It'll be like I was never there."

She was quiet for a moment, her fingers tracing the edge of her pendant. "That's sad," she said finally. "You seem like someone worth remembering."

Rift didn't have an answer for that. He crossed the room, kneeling in front of her so they were eye to eye. "You're going to do great things, Liko. I can see it in you. You're going to find your own path, your own adventure."

"Will you be in it?"

The question hung between them, soft and impossible. He reached out, brushing a strand of strawberry-blonde hair from her face. "I'll be watching," he said. "That's a promise."

She leaned into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed. He felt the anchor in his chest pulse, felt something in her answer — a faint, fragile echo of the rift-touch, not yet fully formed. He could have taken her then. He could have claimed her, split her, kept the clone and sent the original home with a strange dream she'd never understand.

But she was young. And she deserved more than a man who collected women like treasures.

He pressed a kiss to her forehead, gentle, almost paternal. "Sleep," he said. "When you wake up, you'll be home."

She nodded, already drowsy, and he eased her back onto the pillow, pulling the blanket up to her chin. She was asleep before he reached the door, her pendant still glowing softly in the dim light.

He closed the door behind him and stood in the hallway, listening to the house breathe. One door left.

May's door was at the end of the hall, tucked into a corner where the walls curved like ribs. He hadn't put her there — the house had chosen, guiding her steps when he wasn't looking. He knocked, and this time the door swung open before he'd even finished.

May stood in the doorway, her chestnut hair loose around her shoulders, her red bandana tied around her wrist instead of in her hair. She was wearing one of his shirts — too big for her, slipping off one shoulder — and her amber eyes were bright, watchful.

"I was wondering when you'd come," she said.

"You should be asleep."

"So should you. I heard you." A faint blush crept up her cheeks. "You weren't exactly quiet."

He leaned against the doorframe, a tired grin tugging at his mouth. "You were listening?"

"Hard not to." She crossed her arms, but it was a defensive gesture, not a hostile one. "The walls are thin."

"The walls are alive. They like to share."

She laughed, a soft, surprised sound. "That's creepy."

"You get used to it."

They stood there, the space between them charged with everything that had happened at the oasis, everything that hadn't. He'd claimed her in the water, felt her surrender, felt the anchor pulse in his chest when she'd gasped his name. But he hadn't brought her to his bed. He'd brought her here, to this room, and left her alone with the humming walls and her own thoughts.

"You're going to send me home," she said. It wasn't a question.

"The original you, yes."

"And the other me?"

"She stays. If she wants to."

May bit her lip, that habit he'd noticed at the oasis, the one that made her look younger than she was. "What if I don't want to go?"

"The original you won't have a choice. She'll wake up with no memory of me, no memory of the oasis, no memory of any of this." He stepped closer, his voice dropping. "But you — the you standing here, the you who remembers the way you said my name when I was inside you — you get to choose."

She looked at him, her eyes searching his face. "And if I choose to stay?"

"Then you stay. You join the others. You become part of this house, part of me, part of something bigger than any world you've ever known."

"And if I choose to go?"

"Then I take you home, and you forget, and you live your life like I never happened." He reached out, his hand finding hers, their fingers intertwining. "But you won't. Because you already felt it. The pulse. The pull. The way your chest answers mine."

She was quiet for a long moment. Then she stepped forward, into him, her body pressing against his, her arms wrapping around his waist. "I felt it," she whispered. "I've been feeling it all night. It's like... it's like there's a piece of you inside me, and it's been humming ever since."

He cupped her face, tilting it up. "That's the rift-touch. It means you're mine."

"And the other me?"

"She'll never know. She'll go home with nothing but a strange dream about water and a man with glowing tattoos."

May's breath caught. "She'll dream about you?"

"Every night, probably. But she won't know why."

She closed her eyes, leaning into his touch. "That's cruel."

"It's kind," he corrected gently. "She gets to live her life without the weight of what I am. She gets to be whole."

"And I don't?"

"You get to be more." He kissed her then, soft and slow, tasting the salt of tears she hadn't shed yet. "You get to be everything."

She kissed him back, her hands fisting in his shirt, pulling him closer. When they broke apart, her eyes were wet but her smile was steady. "Okay," she said. "Okay. I'll stay."

He pressed his forehead to hers, breathing her in. "Good."

"But I want to see her first."

He pulled back, frowning. "Who?"

"The other me. The original. I want to see her before you send her home. I want to know what I'm leaving behind."

Rift studied her for a long moment. It was an unusual request — most of his women never asked to see their originals. They were too eager to leave that life behind, too ready to become something new. But May was different. She'd always been different.

"Follow me," he said.

He led her through the winding halls of the house, past doors that hummed with the echoes of sleeping women, past windows that looked out onto nebulae and starfields and worlds that had never known his name. The house guided them, its walls shifting subtly, and then they were at a door near the back, one Rift had almost forgotten.

He opened it.

The original May lay in the bed, still as a photograph, her chest rising and falling in a slow, steady rhythm. She was dressed in the same clothes she'd worn at the oasis — the red crop top, the blue shorts — and her side ponytail was slightly mussed from sleep. She looked peaceful. She looked like someone who'd never met him.

May stepped past him, her hand rising to her mouth. "She's beautiful," she whispered.

"She's you."

"I know." She moved to the bed, sitting on the edge, reaching out to brush a strand of chestnut hair from the sleeping girl's face. "I remember being her. I remember waking up in the water, feeling warm and confused, wondering why I felt like I'd lost something I never had."

"You didn't lose anything," Rift said. "You gained everything."

May didn't answer. She leaned down, pressing a kiss to her own forehead, a benediction and a goodbye in one. "Take care of her," she whispered. "Make sure she's happy."

"She will be. She'll wake up in her own bed, in her own world, with no memory of this place. She'll live a long, full life, and she'll never know any of it was missing."

May nodded, wiping her eyes. "Okay. I'm ready."

Rift crossed to a small table in the corner, where an anchor-shaped device sat humming softly. It wasn't the anchor in his chest — that was a part of him, bound to his bones and his blood. This was a tool, a key, a way to send his originals home with their memories wiped clean. He picked it up, feeling its familiar weight, and turned back to the bed.

"It won't hurt her," he said. "She'll just... drift. And when she wakes up, she'll be exactly where she's supposed to be."

May stood, moving to his side, her hand finding his. "Do it."

He pressed the device to the sleeping girl's chest. There was a soft pulse of light, a hum that vibrated through the room, and then the original May was gone — not vanished, not erased, but simply... elsewhere. Back in her own world, her own bed, her own life, dreaming of water and a man with glowing tattoos.

May let out a shaky breath. "She's safe?"

"She's safe." He set the device down, turning to face her. "And so are you."

She looked at him, her amber eyes bright with unshed tears, and then she smiled — a real smile, warm and open and full of everything she'd been holding back. "Show me," she said, echoing words she'd never heard but somehow knew. "Show me what it means to be yours."

He took her hand and led her back to his room.
