David Martinez jumped, his cybernetic eyes widening. "Who is that? Main? Is that you on the comms?"

David clenched his metal fist. "The Moon? That is her dream. I promised her I would take her there."

"No way," David growled. He activated his Sandevistan. The world slowed down. "I am going to zero him."
(Whoa, easy there, Speed Racer! If you zero a high-level corpo in the Afterlife, Rogue will put a bounty on your head so big you wont be able to buy a soda. We have to be smarter. Neo relies on his 'Omni-Hack'. We need to counter-hack him. I am uploading a Daemon into your neural slot. It is called 'The Blue Screen of Death'. Cost: 500 Points.)
"What does it do?" David asked, speeding through the streets of Night City, leaving a trail of afterimages.
(It does not kill him. It just... reboots him. At the worst possible moment. Get to the Afterlife. Now.)

Location: The Afterlife Bar.
The bass was thumping so hard it rattled the glasses on the tables. Lucy sat in a private booth, looking distant. Opposite her sat Neo—a man in a white suit that glowed under the UV lights. He had gold-plated optics and a smile that cost more than David's apartment.
"It is a simple offer, Lucy," Neo said, sliding a platinum chip across the table. "Luxury class. Oxygen gardens. No gravity. No danger. You can leave this city of dreams and nightmares. Just... come with me."
Lucy looked at the chip. Her eyes flickered red as she scanned it. "It is real. A valid boarding pass."
"I can give you everything," Neo pressed, activating his subtle neural-hack. "You feel it, do you not? That sense of peace when you look at me?"
Lucy blinked slowly. "I... I do. It is quiet."
(He is suppressing her anxiety!) Ethan shouted in David's mind as they burst through the doors. (He is sedating her digital soul! Crash the party, David!)
David walked up to the booth. He did not look like a street kid anymore. He looked like an Edgerunner.
"David?" Lucy looked up, surprise breaking through the sedation.
"She is not going with you," David said, his voice steady.
Neo laughed, looking David up and down. "And who are you? The street trash she hangs out with? Look at you. You are mostly scrap metal. Can you afford a ticket to the Moon? Can you afford a ticket to the orbital station?"
"I do not need to buy her a ticket," David said. "I am going to take her there myself. My way."
"Your way is death," Neo sneered. "I have the latest Militech combat software. If you try to fight me, I will shut down your lungs."
Neo's eyes glowed gold. He initiated the hack. [Target: David Martinez. Action: System Shutdown.]
(Access Denied,) Ethan whispered. (Countermeasure Active: The Uno Reverse Card.)
David felt a weird tingle, but his lungs kept working.
Neo frowned. "What? Why are you not choking?"
"Maybe your software is outdated," David smirked. "Allow me to update it."
David reached out and touched Neo's shoulder.
(Upload Daemon: The Blue Screen of Death. Execute.)
Neo's gold eyes suddenly went blank. Then, they turned a terrifying shade of bright blue.
"CRITICAL ERROR," Neo shouted robotically, standing up and knocking over his drink. "SYSTEM FAILURE. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR."
The music in the club seemed to stop as everyone looked at the convulsing corpo.
"REBOOTING..." Neo yelled. "LOADING DRIVERS... 10 percent..."
He started doing a robotic twitching dance.
