Chapter 43 - Season 3 Chapter 5: Rise Up Yaoyarozu

The atmosphere in the observation room was still. Not silent—between the hum of monitors, shifting seats, and Recovery Girl scribbling a few notes, there was movement—but the tension was real. All eyes were locked onto the screen that now displayed the second match.

Tokoyami Fumikage.

Tsuyu Asui.

Yui Kodai.

Shihai Kuroiro.

Reiko Yanagi.

Their battleground: a tall, multi-story building lined with twisting staircases, tight corridors, and enclosed rooms. Inside, a horde of identical figures rushed through the halls—each one unmistakable in appearance.

Ectoplasm clones.

The villainous-looking Pro Hero, known for his haunting appearance and tactical brilliance, had already blanketed the floor with dozens of copies of himself. Long-limbed and sharp-toothed, they moved with inhuman speed and coordination, driven by the original's unshakable will.

Izuku Midoriya leaned forward. "This... is intense. Ectoplasm's already gone full assault."

"He's cut off the exits," Ruby said softly. "They can't get out the same way they came in."

Uraraka tensed in her seat. "It's like a maze... with monsters in every direction."

Recovery Girl, who had been quietly watching the monitor with a professional eye, finally spoke. "Ectoplasm's Quirk—Clones—allows him to generate up to thirty copies of himself at once under normal conditions. And even more under extreme conditions, like life-or-death combat. He's a master of tactical crowd control."

"His clones aren't perfect, though, right?" Ruby asked.

"They're not invincible," Recovery Girl confirmed. "But that's not the point. He doesn't use them for brute force. He uses them to isolate, overwhelm, and manipulate his opponents."

The camera shifted to show the interior of the building.

Team 2 was already split into two groups—Reiko, Kuroiro, and Yui were on the third floor trying to carve a path to the exit stairwell, while Tsuyu and Tokoyami had been separated and were now navigating the second floor, attempting to regroup.

Onscreen, the clones surrounded Tsuyu, who used her tongue to sling herself up and over a railing. Tokoyami, Dark shadow rose from behimd and lunged at the clones before Tsus tongue wrapped around his waist and pulled him up.

"They're trying to regroup," Izuku observed. "But Ectoplasm's flooding the whole building. They're surrounded on every level."

"And it's not just that," Recovery Girl added. "His clones can't feel pain. That makes it harder for the students to predict his movements—they fight expecting a reaction, and when they don't get one, it breaks their rhythm."

On the upper floor, Tokoyami stood protectively in front of Yui as Dark Shadow whipped through a hallway, dispersing a wave of clones.

"They've got firepower," Ruby admitted. "Tokoyami and Dark Shadow are great in close quarters... and Kuroiro's Shadow meld lets him travel between dark spaces like a ghost."

Yui remained near the back, transforming debris into makeshift cover. She'd silently enlarged a slab of concrete to block the stairwell behind them, buying precious seconds.

"They're holding," Uraraka said with a small breath of relief. "For now."

But the camera cut back to the second floor. More clones poured into the hallway. Reiko floated three metal lockers and hurled them like spears—but it was a delay at best.

"They're being flushed toward the central stairwell," Recovery Girl said. "Which is exactly what Ectoplasm wants. He's herding them like prey."

Izuku clenched his fists.

"The team is well balanced," he said. "Tokoyami and Kuroiro specialize in stealth and offense. Yui's support. Tsuyu's mobility and rescue. Reiko's telekinesis is excellent for defense and improvisation."

"But they're being stretched thin," Ruby muttered. "This test isn't about individual skill. It's about endurance, coordination, adaptation."

Recovery Girl nodded. "And strategy under pressure. They're up against a hero who's a former soldier and knows how to break team formations without needing to lift a finger himself."

Izuku looked down, recalling the overwhelming nature of some of his own battles. He knew exactly how it felt to be trapped—how panic could creep in when all exits were gone.

"We just have to believe in them," he said quietly.

On screen, the five students were beginning to regroup—but the walls were closing in.

The camera feeds flickered, bouncing between angles as Team 2 made their final sprint through the twisting hallways of the building. Sweat clung to their brows, breath ragged, movements quick but calculated. The goal gate—a red metal door with a blinking sensor—was just ahead.

"They're almost there," Chitose murmured, adjusting the headset on her ears as her fingers danced across the keyboard. "It's amazing how well they've been able to hold formation despite the chaos."

Recovery Girl nodded thoughtfully. "That's because this team complements one another extremely well. Tokoyami's offense, Tsuyu's mobility, Kuroiro's infiltration skills, Reiko's telekinetic manipulation, and Yui's large-scale item support... they're not just a random grouping. They're a five-piece unit with synergy."

Back in the front row, Deku leaned forward, his eyes glued to the screen.

Come on... almost there.

Onscreen, Dark Shadow roared as it tore through the twenty-eighth clone of Ectoplasm, dispersing it into a harmless splash of goo.

Tokoyami exhaled. "That was the last one... for now."

Behind him, Asui crouched low and peered ahead through the now-clear hallway.

"There's only one left," she said, pointing with her tongue. "The one standing still... he hasn't moved since we came into view."

"That must be the real body," Reiko whispered, floating beside her teammates with a slight eeriness to her tone, her silver eyes glowing.

Yui, standing silently just behind the group, nodded. She didn't speak—but her gaze said the same.

The real Ectoplasm stood like a statue, arms folded. But a thin smile curled across his sharp lips.

"Well done," he said, his voice deep and gravelly. "You managed to wade through the entire tide... impressive teamwork. But let me ask you—"

His neck bulged grotesquely. The skin at his throat bubbled and stretched like a balloon.

"—what will you do... against this?"

With a guttural sound, Ectoplasm vomited forth a massive tidal wave of dark-blue ectoplasmic sludge that surged out like a flood. The wave hit the floor with a wet crash and molded together, reshaping itself as it grew in height... towering... growing limbs... a head... sharp fangs.

The ground shook slightly as it completed its form.

A giant version of Ectoplasm, easily over 20 feet tall, now stood between the team and the exit gate.

His voice thundered across the corridor.

"Let's see you escape from my Ultimate Move—Giant Bite Detention!"

Back in the observation room, Chitose let out a low whistle. "Now that's intimidation. You'd think the real one would step back and let the clones do the work, but no—he still has a few tricks of his own."

"His ultimate move allows him to produce a singular, massive clone composed of all his remaining ectoplasm," Recovery Girl explained, arms crossed. "It may not be as fast or mobile, but the raw strength and size make it a living wall. It's a final trial."

Deku's heart pounded in his chest. They're so close... come on, guys.

Ruby whispered beside him, "That thing's blocking the whole corridor."

Uraraka bit her lip. "It's gonna take everything they've got just to dodge it, let alone break past it..."

The giant Ectoplasm clone towered in the corridor, its broad shoulders scraping the ceiling, saliva-like ectoplasmic goo dripping from its jagged fangs. The team barely had a moment to brace themselves.

"I can't summon more clones," the real Ectoplasm declared coldly, standing at the far end of the hallway. "But I don't need to... not when one is all I need to capture you all."

"MOVE!" Tokoyami yelled.

But it was too late.

With an earsplitting roar, the giant clone lunged forward, both fists coming down like twin wrecking balls. The hallway trembled as cement cracked and light fixtures shattered. The clone slammed its gooey mass forward, its arms extending unnaturally to sweep the entire corridor.

Before anyone could fully react, the massive sludge arms slammed into the team, pinning them like insects against the reinforced walls.

SPLAT—!!

The ectoplasm hardened instantly around their limbs and torsos, encasing each of them in dense bindings. Kuroiro, mid-shadow dive, was forced out of the wall. Yui, who had enlarged a small metal bar to use as a shield, barely got it halfway up. Reiko, floating a piece of debris to defend Tsuyu, got caught alongside it. Tokoyami's Dark Shadow tried to guard him—but was overwhelmed in the surge.

The whole hallway was now lined with five trapped bodies, stuck to the walls in thick, immobilizing goo.

Silence settled in the observation room for a beat.

"Whoa..." Ruby whispered.

Uraraka's eyes were wide. "That thing just... steamrolled them."

Izuku stood frozen, hands clenched tightly. "It was so fast... They were all moving perfectly before this..."

The five students were stuck against the corridor walls, their bodies encased in hardened ectoplasm. The massive clone stood like a grotesque guardian, its form rippling and twitching, ready to crush again at a moment's notice.

Ectoplasm's voice rang through the hall, calm yet grim:

"Only I can dismiss the behemoth I've created. As long as it stands, you remain immobile. This battle is over."

Tokoyami gritted his teeth. So close...

"Your quirk..." he muttered. "It's too powerful..."

Suddenly, from within the shadows pinned behind him, a voice emerged—gruff, bold, and defiant.

"And so am I."

It was Dark Shadow.

A small flicker of hope returned to Tokoyami's eyes. "Dark Shadow... GO!"

With a burst of inky energy, Dark Shadow erupted free from Tokoyami's pinned body and launched forward like a demon unleashed.

"I'M ON IT!!"

The beast of shadows surged through the corridor, aiming for the goal gate at the far end.

But Ectoplasm was ready.

CLANK.

With a twist of his hips, his peg-shaped legs rotated unnaturally, his whole body spinning like a living drill. With near-blinding speed, he intercepted Dark Shadow mid-rush. His limbs lashed out like spears, forcing Dark Shadow into a defensive tangle of dodges and parries.

"You won't reach it," Ectoplasm said flatly, launching precise, ruthless strikes.

Dark Shadow snarled as he fought back, but Ectoplasm's technique and precision kept him from gaining ground.

Tokoyami clenched his jaw. "He won't... make it..."

Suddenly, a soft voice spoke beside him.

"We might still have a way," Asui said, eyes narrowing. "If Dark Shadow can just reach you, we've got a plan."

Tokoyami turned his head slightly. "What do you mean?"

"Don't look at me," she croaked, puffing her cheeks. "It's gross to watch... and I don't want Ectoplasm to figure it out."

The others watched in confusion as Tsuyu's throat bulged, inflating like a balloon.

Blorp—!

With a twitch of her mouth, she regurgitated the special handcuffs given to each team before the matches.—a custom gadget from Support Course tech she'd swallowed earlier for emergencies.

"Is that—?" Kuroiro blinked.

"Spooky," Reiko mumbled, eyes shinning slightly.

"It's our shot," Tsu said. "Trust us."

Still fighting, Dark Shadow was flung back again, crashing into the wall with a grunt.

Ectoplasm's real body stepped forward. "Enough. This exercise is over—"

"DARK SHADOW!!" Tokoyami bellowed. "TO ME!!"

Dark Shadow flitted back through the air, retreating to his master's side. As he drew near, Tsu lifted the device shakily in her bound hand.

"Take this."

Dark Shadow snatched it mid-flight, his body now bristling with a new sense of purpose.

"We can this," he growled, "Calm down" Tsu croaked.

Dark Shadow surged forward once more, his energy renewed.

In the observation room, Deku, Ruby, and Uraraka leaned forward.

"Wait, what did she give him?" Ruby asked, eyebrows raised.

"Froppy's secret weapon?" Uraraka guessed.

"They're not out yet..." Deku said softly, eyes focused.

Back in the field, Ectoplasm narrowed his eyes at the charging shadow beast.

"Again? Fine. Let's end this."

Ectoplasm launched at Dark with a kick, while dark shadow reeled its fist back and roared. Their attacks collided and dark shadow was sent against the floor face first.

But it wasn't a loss

Ectoplasm: I didn't expect this ...

On his peg leg was the handcuff locked on.

Tsuyu: I figured this was the only way we could win. He captured us and we needed a way to win so I swallowed the cuffs. My quirk lets me take things in and out of my stomach

Uraraka: "Woah leg cuffed him !!"

Izuku: "Then they passed ! "

Ruby: "YEAH!!!! Dark Shadow and Frog what a team !!"

"Team 2 have passed the finals!!"

The three smiled brightly at one another while ectoplasm released the captured students who now stood before him.

Ectoplasm:" That was wonderfully clever. I must commend you both"

Tokoyami: " I am truly humbled sir"

Reiko: " Thank you sensei"

Tsu: "Ribbit ribbit"

Dark shadow: "It was all thanks to me "

The TV screen flickered off with the triumphant sound of Team 2's buzzer. A few students in the room clapped or murmured in amazement, while others simply nodded in quiet respect.

Momo Yaoyorozu, sitting neatly with her legs crossed, closed her notebook with a soft snap.

"Impressive," she said calmly. "I'm not surprised, though. Dark Shadow is an incredibly versatile Quirk—offense, defense, and mobility all in one. When wielded with the right mind, it becomes overwhelming."

Awase, seated beside her, gave a low whistle. "Didn't think that shadow thing had finesse. Guess I was wrong."

Setsuna Tokage laughed. "What'd you expect from Tokoyami? He's got that whole brooding swordsman vibe. Shadow powers were practically made for that."

Yaoyorozu smiled softly. "And Asui-san... her calmness under pressure really tied it all together."

Third Match Begins – Team 3 vs Power Loader

The camera now cuts to the outside of the next testing area—a vast industrial yard full of mounds of earth, craters, and half-constructed buildings. Steel scaffolding creaked in the wind, and dirt periodically exploded upwards like geysers, blown apart by unseen mechanical forces.

It looked like a construction site mid-battlefield.

A low rumble echoed from beneath the ground.

Power Loader, the burly, excavator-armed teacher of the Support Course, rose from a crater with dust swirling around him. His reinforced helmet gleamed under the sun, and his mechanical digging arms spun threateningly.

Across the field stood Team 3:

Tenya Iida – his engines humming quietly.

Mashirao Ojiro – tail swaying, eyes sharp.

Pony Tsunotori – her horns lightly glowing.

Ruby Rose – Crescent Rose folded on her back, eyes scanning.

They stood in a tight formation, the tension thick in the air.

Pony's eyes widened at the rumbling earth.

"Um... is this guy gonna try to bury us alive or something?"

Ojiro kept his stance low. "Wouldn't put it past him. He can move through dirt like it's air."

"We're in his home field," Ruby muttered. "We'll have to move fast and stick together."

Tenya raised his arm like a general preparing for war.

"Everyone, remain alert! Power Loader excels at ambush tactics—he'll try to divide and disorient us. Formation Alpha-3: Pony, take the high ground; Ojiro and I will guard the center. Ruby, provide visual support from the flanks."

The ground beneath them shuddered again—more violently this time.

Suddenly, WHAM—a pillar of earth exploded in front of them, sending rocks flying.

"HERE HE COMES!!" Ruby shouted, eyes gleaming.

Out of the dirt, Power Loader burst forth, roaring as he slammed his mechanical claws into the ground—sending shockwaves racing toward the students.

The third battle had begun.

Iida stood tall, eyes narrowed behind his glasses.

"We need speed and coordination. I'll carry Ojiro and use Recipro Burst to close the gap. Pony, fly above for support. Ruby—flank from the side. Your speed will help disorient him."

They nodded. Ruby pulled Crescent Rose from her back and flicked it open, the weapon gleaming in the sunlight.

"Ready when you are."

Pony's horns pulsed, and she launched into the air using her horn projectiles to help lift and steady herself.

Iida crouched. "Ojiro—hold on."

Ojiro nodded, wrapping his tail around Iida's leg like a coil.

"Recipro... BURST!!"

With an explosion of speed, Iida rocketed forward like a missile, Ojiro held tight. Ruby was a blur beside them, her Semblance creating a glowing red streak across the broken terrain. Pony soared above, eyes scanning.

They were only meters from the goal gate when—

"Uh uh uh, not so fast!" Power Loader's voice boomed from beneath.

Suddenly, the earth cracked violently—a huge gorge opening up in front of them. Stone chunks burst upward, one narrowly missing Ruby's head. Pony gasped mid-air and had to veer hard to avoid a boulder.

Iida's eyes widened.

Think, Tenya! Think fast!

Then it came to him.

"Ojiro—get ready!"

Iida skidded to a halt just before the gap, spinning with all the centrifugal force Recipro Boost had built.

"Recipro... EXTEND!!"

With a shout, he hurled Ojiro like a javelin, the tail-wrapped momentum launching the martial artist straight over the gorge.

Power Loader's mechanical arm shot out, trying to grab Ojiro mid-air—

But Ojiro twisted, using his tail like a battering ram, slamming the arm away with raw force.

Behind him, Ruby's red streak flashed past, a blur of momentum. Her eyes locked onto Power Loader's exposed mech arm as it tried to retract.

"Let's clip your claws!"

She swung Crescent Rose with a flash of crimson and sliced clean through the arm, sparks flying. Power Loader recoiled in surprise.

Ruby landed and dashed the final stretch just behind Ojiro.

The buzz of the goal sensor rang loud and clear.

Team 3 has passed the finals!

In the observation room...

Cheers erupted as the buzz of the goal sensor signaled Team 3's victory.

"They did it!" Ochako grinned, jumped up in celebration.

Izuku and Yang high-fived, unable to contain their joy.

"That was amazing teamwork!" Blake laughed.

"Yeah, it really was!" Izuku replied—until a loud growl echoed from his stomach.

His cheeks flushed.

"E-Excuse me! I'll, uh... just grab something to eat real quick!"

He jogged out of the room, heading into the quiet corridors of the testing facility. But as he turned a corner—

He stopped.

Momo Yaoyorozu stood near a bench, her arms crossed tightly. Her eyes were cast downward, her posture tense. She looked... fragile.

"Yaoyorozu?" Izuku asked gently.

She flinched at the sudden voice.

"M-Midoriya!" she said quickly, standing up straight.

Izuku:" Are you...Okay?"

"I'm fine. Really. Just... thinking."

Izuku tilted his head. "Are you sure?"

She hesitated. Then added quietly:

"Yes. I'm alright."

But the lie was thin. Too practiced.

Inside Izuku's mind, the voices of Nana Shimura and Meliodas echoed.

Nana: "She looks like she trying to carry something, a heavy burden. Don't push her to talk... But try and help without seeming too forcefull"

Meliodas: "Show her she doesn't have to fight that storm by herself little Izu."

Following their advice, Izuku took a slow step forward.

"You know... I used to lie like that too. Say I was okay when I wasn't."

Momo's eyes trembled. Her composure faltered.

"During the Sports Festival..." she began, voice cracking, "I failed. Not just in battle, but—mentally. And I keep thinking I'll do it again. That my team might lose... because of me."

A heavy silence filled the hallway.

"I feel like... like a burden," she continued. "I can create things. That's all I can do. And no matter what I make—it never feels like it's enough."

Before she could say more, Izuku gently pulled her into a hug.

Momo gasped softly, frozen in place by the unexpected warmth. But then—

She leaned into him, trembling arms against his chest. Her composure shattered, tears quietly sliding down her cheeks.

"You're wrong," Izuku whispered, holding her tighter.

"You are so much more than you think."

He gently pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes.

"Your quirk doesn't define you. It's not just the things you create—it's the mind behind them. You're one of the smartest people I know, and one of the kindest."

He smiled softly.

"You helped so many of us pass the written exams. You stayed up late tutoring Jirou and Kaminari even though you had your own studying to do. That wasn't 'just' creating—that was being a hero."

Momo's eyes widened slightly. She blinked away more tears, her voice barely a whisper.

"Midoriya..."

He gently placed his hand on her shoulder, standing just a little taller than her now.

"It's not power or strength that makes someone a hero," he said. "It's the courage to keep standing when your legs are shaking. It's the heart to care about others even when you're hurting. And it's the will to never give up..."

He smiled again, warm and unwavering.

"That's who you are. That's why I believe in you. You're going to succeed—because you always do, even when you don't see it."

Momo looked up at him, truly seeing him—and for the first time in a long while, she didn't feel like a burden.

She felt seen. And for the first time in days... she smiled through her tears.

Meanwhile behind a corner Aizawa smiled with his arms crossed leaning against the wall.

" Good job problem child"

Timeskip:

The tall, towering buildings of Ground Gamma loomed high overhead, gaps and alley ways surrounding the area around crisscrossing walkways, the maze-like layout creating a near-perfect battlefield for someone like Eraserhead.

In the far corner of the town zone, the test's Team 4 gathered behind a small house. The team consisted of:

Shouko Todoroki, his arms crossed, gaze cool and calculating.

Momo Yaoyorozu, eyes sharp with a new glint of determination.

Yosetsu Awase, adjusting his gear with casual confidence.

Setsuna Tokage, her ever-present smirk plastered on her face as her limbs subtly detached and twitched around her.

They were preparing for what was easily one of the toughest matchups: a battle against Eraserhead himself.

Suddenly, the speakers crackled to life overhead.

"READY... GO."

A distant clang echoed through the pipes. The test had begun.

"Tch. No time," Setsuna muttered, snapping her fingers. "Alright, I've got an idea. Todoroki, we need you to—"

"Actually," a calm voice cut in.

Momo stepped forward, shoulders squared, voice steady.

"I'd like to take the lead on this plan."

The group blinked in surprise. Even Todoroki tilted his head slightly.

"You?" Awase asked. "You sure?"

Momo nodded.

"Yes. I've analyzed Eraserhead's combat style thoroughly. I believe I have a strategy that can work—and I want to take responsibility for executing it."

There was a beat of silence. Confidence radiated from her, not the timid nervousness from before.

Todoroki nodded without hesitation.

"Alright. Let's hear it."

"He's a close-range fighter who thrives on misdirection, stealth, and disabling Quirks. His Erasure ability will be a constant threat, so we'll need to avoid relying on flashy Quirk usage at first," Momo explained clearly. "But what he can't erase... is our strategy."

Setsuna grinned, arms detaching slightly and floating in the air around her.

"Heh. Okay, Yaoyorozu. Let's see what you've got."

Awase gave a thumbs up. "Lead on, boss."

Shouko gave a small, rare smile.

"Let's win this."

As the team shifted into motion, slipping into the shadows of Ground Gamma, Yaoyorozu took point, mapping their route in her head and pulling small supplies from her arm.

"Let's prove what we're capable of," she said softly to herself.

She wasn't scared anymore.

This time, she wasn't going to freeze.

She was going to lead.

Team 4 vs Eraserhead

Location: Ground Gamma – Simulated Cityscape

The hot sun beat down across the rooftops and shattered pavement of Ground Gamma, a labyrinthine urban sprawl built for combat simulation. Skyscraper shells and rusted support beams towered over four scattered figures navigating through its concrete veins.

Two of them—Shouko Todoroki and Yosetsu Awase—walked down a deserted street between looming structures.

"Y'know," Yosetsu said, rubbing the back of his head, "you're even quieter than I expected, Todoroki. This team-up stuff's hard when you barely say more than five words."

Shouko glanced at him with a faint shrug. "I'm more focused on the enemy than conversation."

Suddenly—

"Too late."

In a blur of motion, Eraserhead's capture scarf lashed out from a nearby rooftop. It whipped around Shouko's body in a tight snare just as his eyes glowed red, canceling Shouko's quirk.

"Todoroki—!" Yotetsu shouted, lunging forward to help.

But Aizawa dropped like a viper.

BAM.

With precise martial arts, he flipped Yotetsu over his shoulder and pinned him effortlessly.

"You're careless," Aizawa reprimanded sharply. "Splitting up from your team, walking around exposed? You've seen my fighting style. You should've known better."

In the observation room, the tension was thick.

Izuku, Ruby, Yang, Iida, Ojiro, and Elizabeth watched wide-eyed as two of their strongest classmates were instantly taken down.

"Woah... he made it look easy..." Ruby murmured.

"We underestimated how scary Eraserhead is in close-quarters," Iida said, adjusting his glasses.

"It's not just his quirk," Elizabeth added softly. "It's his instincts."

"They didn't stand a chance," Ojiro muttered.

Recovery Girl stepped into the room with a stern look.

"That's what makes Aizawa-sensei dangerous. He can suppress Quirks and take you down physically. Against students who rely on flashier powers, he's practically a natural predator."

But little did they know—

He had walked right into a trap.

Phase Two: Momo's Plan in Action

As Aizawa turned his back, eyes dry from usage, he pulled his goggles up and applied eyedrops.

Just as he stepped forward...

Click.

Two invisible trigger lasers embedded in the surrounding walls activated. The trap, subtly fused into the structure by Yotetsu's quirk, sprang to life.

ZAP!

Two small tazers launched, electricity crackling through the air. Aizawa's eyes widened, but he managed to evade them in the last second—only to miss Setsuna's detached hand as it zoomed in from behind and snatched his goggles away.

"Dammit—!"

Before he could react, a large net fired from above, blanketing Aizawa in thick fabric that blocked his vision.

"Can't see...!"

Setsuna's hands quickly followed up, tying a rope around the outside of the net like a spider cocooning its prey.

"We've got him!" she called.

But Aizawa wasn't finished. From within the net, he pulled a hidden combat knife, slicing through the material.

"Almost free—"

CRACK!

Suddenly, ice surged across the ground, freezing Aizawa solid from the legs up. Shouko, now freed by Setsuna's help, stepped forward with her hand raised, her breath steady.

"You're not going anywhere."

ALARM BLARES.

"STUDENT VICTORY!"

In the observation room, cheers erupted.

"Let's gooo!" Ruby jumped up, high-fiving Izuku.

"They really beat Aizawa-sensei!" Ojiro shouted.

"That was brilliant teamwork!" Iida nodded proudly.

"Momo... she really led them to victory," Izuku whispered, a proud smile on his face.

Aftermath

Once Aizawa had been carefully thawed from the ice, he rubbed his shoulder and looked at the team.

"That was excellent coordination," he said calmly. "You lured me in with a fake mistake, laid out a trap, and capitalized the moment I let my guard down."

He looked directly at Momo.

"Your plan had multiple fail-safes. It was tight, efficient, and effective. That's leadership."

Momo gasped, eyes wide, hands coming up to cover her mouth. Her whole body trembled—not from fear, but joy.

"T-Thank you, Aizawa-sensei..."

She turned away, eyes misting over.

And in her heart, she whispered:

"Midoriya... thank you."

"I don't know when it happened... or how... but that once blurry image in my heart... it's clearer now."

Her eyes turned gently toward the observation deck.

"It's him. The green-haired boy who smiled at me when I couldn't even believe in myself."
