Chapter 16 - Birthright

The next day Kakashi sat up with a groan, his head throbbing as he tried to remember what had happened. He looked around, spotting Naruto and Haku sitting nearby, along with the unconscious exhausted forms of Sakura and Sasuke.* "What... what happened?" *He asked gruffly, his voice still thick with sleep.*

*Kakashi listened intently as Naruto explained the events that had transpired since he'd been knocked out. His eyes widened in surprise when Naruto mentioned Haku's defection and her current state. When Naruto finished, Kakashi ran a hand through his hair, looking thoughtful.* "Alright..."

*Kakashi stood up, stretching his limbs before turning to face Haku. She was sitting quietly, her hands folded in her lap, her expression blank. Kakashi cleared his throat, addressing her directly.* "Haku, is it? You're coming back to Konoha with us, right?"

*Haku nodded silently, her blank expression never changing. Kakashi sighed internally, hoping that the Hokage would be able to help her. He turned to Naruto, clapping him on the back.* "Good work, Naruto."

"What do you mean?"

"You handled this whole situation perfectly. You protected Tazuna, saved the village, and even managed to gain a new ally in Haku. Not many genin could have done that." *He smiled warmly at Naruto before looking around at the unconscious forms of Sasuke and Sakura.*

A day later, they were all walking back to The village On the great Naruto bridge.*The group walked in silence to the newly completed Naruto Bridge, the sound of their footsteps echoing softly. Sakura and Sasuke were awake now but still weak from their injuries. Haku walked beside Naruto, her blank expression never changing as she stared straight ahead.* Suddenly, a small child ran up to Naruto, eyes shining with admiration. "Mister Naruto! Mister Naruto! My mom says you saved our whole village! You're a hero! Can I touch your headband?!"

*Sakura's eyes widened at the child's boldness, while Sasuke scoffed quietly. Kakashi just watched with an amused expression.*

"Sure."*Naruto grinned widely, kneeling down to the child's level. He removed his forehead protector and placed it gently on the little boy's head. The child beamed with joy, his small hands reaching up to touch the precious headband.* "Wow! It's so cool! Thank you, Mister Naruto!"

Naruto stood back up and continued walking.*As they continued walking, more and more villagers came out to cheer and thank Naruto. Some even offered him food and drinks. Sakura watched in amazement as Naruto graciously accepted their offerings and spoke kindly with each person. Sasuke, on the other hand, rolled his eyes dramatically.*

*Sasuke muttered under his breath, "He's not even a real shinobi yet and he's already getting all this attention. It's ridiculous." Sakura heard him and glared sharply at her teammate before turning back to watch Naruto interact with the villagers.* Suddenly a thought came to her mind (why was I so obsessed with Sasuke when Naruto has been nice and encouraging?)

*Sakura's realization hit her like a ton of bricks. She watched Naruto laugh and joke with the villagers, his eyes sparkling with genuine happiness at making people smile. Meanwhile, Sasuke was still grumbling behind her, clearly annoyed by all the attention Naruto was getting.*

*Sakura felt embarrassed as she thought back to all the times she had chased after Sasuke, trying to get his approval. Meanwhile, Naruto had always been supportive and encouraging, but she had been too blind to see it.*

*As they reached the other side of the bridge, the cheers and well-wishes finally died down. The group paused, looking back at the impressive structure that now connected the two lands. Kakashi cleared his throat, breaking the moment.*

*Kakashi turned to the group, his expression serious. "Alright, let's get back to Konoha. You all did well." He glanced at Naruto with a hint of pride before starting to walk away. Sakura lingered behind for a moment longer before quickly catching up to Naruto.*

*As they walked side by side, Sakura glanced at Naruto nervously. She bit her lip for a moment before blurting out, "Naruto..." He looked over at her curious expression. She took a deep breath and continued softly, "Thank you. For everything."* She smiled genuinely at him.

*Haku's blank expression turned towards Sakura abruptly, "You should thank him more than just words. He's stronger than Sasuke. He's kind. He's handsome. He's-" She paused, her blank eyes meeting Naruto's wide ones.*

*Sakura's face turned bright red at Haku's sudden outburst, her mouth opening and closing in shock. Sasuke, who had been walking ahead, stopped dead in his tracks, his jaw tightening visibly. Even Kakashi nearly choked on his own breath.*

*Sakura grabbed onto Naruto's arm, pulling him back slightly as she hissed at Haku, *

Haku grabbed his other armHaku grabbed his other arm.*Naruto found himself suddenly pulled between two red-faced girls. On one side, Sakura clung tightly to his arm, whispering urgent warnings while on the other side, Haku held firm with a surprisingly strong grip.*

An hour later, they got back to the village. The third hokage called a council meeting a clan heads, a civilian council and three elders to discuss Haku and Naruto stood by her side.

*The large room was filled with various important figures of Konoha. The three elders sat on one side, their wrinkled faces etched with various expressions of curiosity and skepticism. The clan heads sat straight and proud, their eyes flicking between Naruto and Haku. The civilian council members whispered amongst themselves.*

*The third Hokage stood at the head of the table, his expression grave. He looked around the room before settling his gaze on Naruto and Haku standing side by side. "This meeting has been called to discuss the unique situation regarding hoku with her unique bloodline limit ice release," one of the civilians from the civilian council, spoke up in discussed. " then why is the demon brat here?"

"Call me that again, and I will rip your tongue out. Wait a minute why are you even here? this is I Shinobi matter civilians, don't have a say in it."

*The room fell silent as Naruto's voice echoed through the chamber, sharp and dangerous. The civilian who had spoken paled visibly, stuttering an apology before shrinking back into his seat. The third Hokage raised an eyebrow but didn't intervene immediately.* "Naruto..." He warned softly.

"what I'm doing the truth the civilian council shouldn't be here. This is a Shinobi matter. It doesn't involve them."

*The third Hokage sighed heavily, running a hand through his white hair. "Naruto has a point," he admitted reluctantly. "This matter does primarily concern the shinobi of Konoha. Civilians, I'm afraid you'll have to excuse yourselves from this meeting."*

*The civilian council members grumbled and argued among themselves before reluctantly leaving the room. Once they were gone, the third Hokage turned his attention back to Naruto and Haku standing side by side protectively*. "Now then," One elder spoke up,"Why is this ice release user standing with Naruto?"

"The ice user's name is Haku get it right."

*The elder blushed slightly at Naruto's sharp tone, correcting himself quickly.* "Right, right. Haku." He cleared his throat. "Why is Haku standing with you like that? Are they... romantically involved?" *He asked the question that was clearly on everyone's minds.*

"Complicated."The third Hokage rubbed his temples, looking between Naruto and Haku who were still standing close together. "Complicated how exactly?" he asked carefully. The clan heads leaned forward, curious and slightly scandalized. "Is this a romantic relationship? A political alliance?"

Naruto looked at Haku for her to explain. Haku's blank expression flickered momentarily as she looked back at Naruto, seeking permission. When he gave a subtle nod, she turned to face the council, her voice calm and steady despite the intense scrutiny.* "It is neither romantic nor political," *she stated simply.* "Naruto is..."*She paused, choosing her words carefully before continuing.* "He is the first person who has ever shown me kindness without expecting anything in return. He has protected me, stood up for me, and even praised my abilities. He sees past my bloodline and looks at me as... just Haku."

"and that is enough and do not even think about doing what I know that think you're thinking about doing the clan registration act."

*The third Hokage's eyes widened slightly as Naruto interrupted, clearly guessing what he was thinking. The clan heads exchanged knowing glances. The Clan Registration Act required all shinobi with unique bloodlines to be registered and monitored closely by their respective clans.* "Now hold on-"

"There is no hold on. You're not gonna use her as Breeding stock matter of fact, why didn't you do that to Me I'm part of the Uzumaki clan. Did you think I didn't know the part of history you tried to hide form me so I wouldn't know about my own clan."

*The room fell silent. The third Hokage's expression turned grim. He knew Naruto was smart, but he didn't realize he knew so much about his own clan's history and the Clan Registration Act. The clan heads looked uneasy, some shifting in their seats.* "You..."

"Yes, I know, especially at the part you tried to hide from me. My father is the fourth."

*The room erupted into chaos. The clan heads stared at Naruto with shock and disbelief. The elders exchanged panicked glances. The third Hokage's face went pale as he gripped the armrest of his chair tightly.*

"Naruto, please calm down," *he said slowly, his voice strained.* "We were protecting you. If the other villages knew who you were—"

"don't give me that bullshit. Pretty sure everyone in this village knew or had some idea I was. I would have a better life ensure I would needed a little extra protection. But at least I would've been happy knowing who my parents were so don't you dare start lying to me now?"

*The third Hokage's shoulders slumped as the truth hung heavy in the air. The room was completely silent now, every person present knowing exactly what Naruto spoke of. It was true - the entire village had known about his heritage, yet they chose to keep it from him "for his own protection."*

Kakashi, standing near the back, looked down at the floor, ashamed. "Even my own sensei, who was the student of my father, didn't tell me."

*Kakashi flinched visibly at Naruto's words, guilt written all over his face. He had been ordered by the higher-ups not to reveal Naruto's parentage, but hearing it said out loud like this made him realize how wrong that decision had been.*

" I expect all the money my parents ever had their Jitsu their homes everything and because of that act, I will have to take more than one girl and I will choose who that girl is and if I want them, is everybody clear on that."

*The room was absolutely shocked. The clan heads looked absolutely horrified. The elders were losing their minds. The third Hokage watched helplessly as Naruto utterly destroyed the Clan Registration Act with one sentence after another.* "That's not how it works!" *One elder protested weakly.*

"It's how it works now." Said Naruto only his full killing intent and power on the room.

*The room went deathly silent. The clan heads and elders could feel the immense pressure of Naruto's power and killing intent pressing down on them like a physical force. They shrank back in their seats, suddenly terrified of this young man who had once been just another shinobi.*

"third, my parents possessions."*The third Hokage swallowed hard, realizing that Naruto was dead serious. He nodded slowly, his voice barely above a whisper.* "It will be done..." *He paused, then added,* "And who... who will you choose as your brides?"

"Right now just Haku."

*Haku's eyes widened in shock and a faint blush colored her cheeks. She looked up at Naruto with a mixture of surprise and something else she couldn't quite identify. The third Hokage looked relieved, at least for now, there was only one girl involved. The clan heads and elders exchanged uneasy glances, wondering what other changes Naruto would bring.*

"Third take me to where my parents lived."*The third Hokage nodded solemnly and stood up from his seat. He led Naruto and Haku out of the council chamber and through the village to a large house on the outskirts. It was well-maintained but showed signs of being unoccupied for many years.* "This was your parents' home,"

*As they entered the house, Naruto's eyes widened at the sight of all the Uzumaki family heirlooms and memories scattered throughout. Haku followed quietly behind him, taking in the history of the powerful clan. The third Hokage watched Naruto's reaction closely.* "Your father left everything to you," *he said softly.*

"What exactly did he leave?""He left you everything," *the third Hokage explained.* "The house, all their possessions, scrolls containing Uzumaki sealing techniques, your mother's jewelry, their personal library, financial assets, and several storage seals scattered throughout the village." *He paused, then added hesitantly.* "He also left you a letter."

"What letter?"*The third Hokage pulled out an ancient-looking letter sealed with the Uzumaki crest.* "Your father wrote this to you before he died. He made me promise to give it to you only when you were old enough to understand." *He held out the letter gently.*

*Naruto carefully broke the seal and unfolded the letter. His eyes scanned over his father's neat handwriting, reading the words that had been written for him so many years ago.* "My dear Naruto," it began.

"If you are reading this, it means I am no longer with you. I want you to know that I loved you more than anything in this world. You were the light of my life, my greatest treasure. Your mother and I hoped that you would grow up strong and happy, but fate had other plans."

"I am sorry that I couldn't protect you from the hatred and fear of others. It breaks my heart to know that you will grow up without knowing the love of your parents. Promise me something, Naruto - never let anyone make you feel like you are nothing."

"You are an Uzumaki, a descendant of a great and noble clan. and the son of the fourth hokage Minato Namikaze Hold your head high and be proud of who you are. Never let anyone dim your light or make you forget how loved you are. Your mother and I will always be watching over you, cheering you on from the heavens."

"I have left you everything - our house, our possessions, our secrets, and our legacy. Use it wisely, Naruto. Be strong for yourself and for those who will come after you. Remember always that you are not alone; you carry a piece of us with you everywhere you go." *Signed Minato, Namikaze-Uzumaki.

*Naruto's eyes were filled with tears as he finished reading the letter. He felt his father's love and pride emanating from every word. Haku watched quietly, giving him space to process this new piece of his past. The third Hokage looked emotional as well.* " your mother Kushina Uzumaki left you something as well." he said, taking out an Uzumaki scroll

"what is it?"

*The third Hokage unrolled the scroll carefully, revealing a beautiful piece of calligraphy written in Kushina's handwriting.* "This is your mother's last message to you," *he explained softly.* "She wanted you to have this when you were ready." *The scroll read:*

"My beloved Naruto, If you're reading this, it means I'm no longer with you. I wish I could have held you in my arms and told you this in person, but fate had other plans. I want you to know that you were the joy of my life, my precious treasure."

"You have my eyes and my ears, my stubbornness and my love for ramen. You are my son in every way that matters. I want you to grow up strong and kind, just like your father. Never let anyone make you feel less than you are because of what happened to us."

"You are an Uzumaki, my love. That means you are powerful, resilient, and loved by the gods. Your father and I gave you the best of ourselves, and I hope that's enough to see you through the tough times. Remember, my son, that you are never alone."

"I have left you a gift, my darling boy. It is a small part of me that will always be with you. Use it wisely and remember that I love you more than words can say." *Signed* *Kushina Uzumaki*

"She said a gift what did she mean?"

*The third Hokage gestured to a hidden compartment in the wall behind a portrait of Naruto's parents.* "Your mother was an immensely skilled Uzumaki seal master. She hid something special for you - something only you can access with your blood." *He stepped aside.* "The seal requires your blood and Uzumaki chakra to unlock."

he cuts Himself in his hand infusing the cut with his Chakra as he touched it.The hidden compartment slid open with a soft hissing sound, revealing the contents inside. A beautifully crafted katana with an Uzumaki crest on the hilt and four scrolls tied together with a matching crest belt. The third Hokage watched in awe as the compartment opened smoothly after years of being sealed.*

*Naruto carefully picked up the two scrolls from his father. The Rasengan scroll contained detailed instructions and variations of the technique that his father had been developing before his death. The Flying Raijin scroll contained the complete notes and formulas for the technique that made his father famous - the Flying Thunder God. There was a note attached:*

*"For my son, to master what I started."**Naruto unrolled the note attached to the Flying Raijin scroll. It read:* "My son, this technique was my pride and joy. I wanted to pass it down to you one day. Mastering it will allow you to teleport instantly anywhere you've marked with your chakra signature."

*Naruto picked up the sword next, examining the intricate Uzumaki crest on the hilt. It felt perfectly balanced in his hand, clearly custom-made for someone with his build. The blade shone with a faint purple glow, indicating it was enchanted with special properties.*

*The other two scrolls were his mother's gifts. "The Beginnings of Sealing Jutsu" was clearly a beginner's guide to the complex art of fūinjutsu, written in Kushina's playful handwriting with doodles in the margins. "Chakra Chains" contained instructions for the legendary Uzumaki technique - chains of pure chakra that could bind anything.*
