Chapter 95 - Side Story 3: Sealing Xians Powers and Memories

Mini Backstory

The kingdom was dying.

The tunnels that once echoed with life had become silent.

Food had vanished.

The fields surrounding the colony had become barren wastelands.

Even the rivers had dried.

Every day, more ants starved.

Every day, more bodies piled up.

The workers no longer had the strength to work.

The soldiers no longer had the strength to fight.

The children no longer had the strength to cry.

At the center of the colony sat the queen.

Mother Ant.

Her gaze overlooked her kingdom.

Thousands of ants waited for her command.

None dared speak.

None dared move.

Then she finally opened her mouth.

Mother Ant:

"There's nothing to eat."

The entire colony fell silent.

The truth hurt more because everyone already knew it.

Mother Ant slowly closed her eyes.

Mother Ant:

"The children had begun to consume each other."

Many ants lowered their heads.

Some could no longer bear to look at their queen.

The kingdom had fallen so low that even its future generation had begun fighting amongst themselves.

For scraps.

For survival.

For one more day of life.

Mother Ant slowly stood.

The pressure she emitted spread throughout the entire colony.

Mother Ant:

"This land can no longer provide sustenance for our kingdom."

Cracks spread across the stone floor beneath her.

Mother Ant:

"This will not do."

Her voice became colder.

More absolute.

Mother Ant:

"I need the best soldier who can lead my kingdom."

The soldiers straightened immediately.

Mother Ant:

"For the kingdom."

Her golden eyes glowed.

Mother Ant:

"Decrease the fear of the enemies who are blocking our path."

The ants listened.

Mother Ant:

"Decrease the fear of the enemies who are blocking our path."

The words repeated.

Again.

Mother Ant:

"Decrease the fear of the enemies who are blocking our path."

The command engraved itself into the very soul of the colony.

And from that command…

A monster was born.

Not a hero.

Not a guardian.

Not a king.

A weapon.

A soldier.

A creature whose existence revolved around battle.

Around conquest.

Around death.

That creature…

Was me.

So that's why I was born.

To kill.

To destroy.

To eliminate everything standing before the kingdom.

That was my purpose.

That was my reason for existing.

For years I carried out that duty.

Kings died.

Generals died.

Entire armies died.

Whenever I appeared, terror followed.

Whenever I flew across the battlefield, hope disappeared.

No one challenged me without fear.

No one looked at me without trembling.

Every creature I met feared me.

Every single one.

Until that day.

A mountain of corpses surrounded me.

The battlefield had long since become red.

Broken weapons littered the ground.

The smell of blood filled the air.

I stared at the survivors.

At the rulers who called themselves kings.

At the people who claimed authority.

At the weak creatures who sat on thrones.

My killing intent exploded outward.

The sky darkened.

The earth cracked.

The atmosphere itself became heavier.

Countless living beings dropped to their knees.

Their bodies trembled.

Some couldn't even breathe.

Then I spoke.

Bevan:

"Are these others?"

My voice echoed across the battlefield.

Bevan:

"Those who call themselves king?"

The pressure intensified.

Fear filled their eyes.

I could smell it.

I could feel it.

I could hear their hearts racing.

Then my gaze landed on a single human.

A man standing alone.

A man completely unaffected by my killing intent.

My eyes narrowed.

I looked directly at him.

Bevan:

"Are you the king of humans?"

I asked with an evil voice.

A voice capable of making entire armies collapse.

Yet the human merely smirked.

His aura began glowing.

Power radiated around him.

But unlike everyone else…

He wasn't afraid.

Not even a little.

Then he spoke.

Chaos Tenno:

"…Seems like this insect can talk."

Silence.

For the first time in my life…

I froze.

An insect?

Did he just call me an insect?

Me?

The commander of an army?

The destroyer of kingdoms?

The strongest soldier my queen had ever created?

For a moment I couldn't understand.

Then—

Rage exploded.

Bevan:

"KIEEEEEEEKKK!!"

The sky shook.

Mountains trembled.

The battlefield cracked apart.

Everything around me shook from the force of my roar.

Everything…

Except him.

Chaos Tenno simply looked at me.

Calm.

Relaxed.

Almost amused.

That was the first time.

The first time I met someone who wasn't afraid of me.

The first time someone looked at me without terror.

The first time someone treated me like I wasn't some unstoppable monster.

Chaos Tenno smirked.

Then he said something I would never forget.

Chaos Tenno:

"Now you're finally deciding to act like an insect."

The battlefield became silent.

And for the first time…

I couldn't think of a response.

Mini Backstory Ends

Present Day.

Bevan stood quietly in the courtyard of the Tenno Household.

The memories slowly faded.

His crimson eyes returned to the present.

Bevan:

"It's been awhile since then…"

His voice was lower than usual.

Bevan:

"For a human who isn't afraid of me to appear."

A tiny drop of sweat rolled down his forehead.

His gaze lowered.

Directly toward Baby Xian.

The baby stared at him with sparkling eyes.

Not fear.

Not caution.

Not confusion.

Pure amazement.

As if Bevan were the most interesting thing in existence.

Bevan stared back.

Silently.

Bevan:

"…"

Baby Xian:

"ANP! ANP!"

The baby's face brightened.

Drool slowly dripped from his mouth.

His tiny hands stretched toward Bevan.

Trying to grab him.

Trying to touch him.

Trying to hold him.

Bevan remained frozen.

Bevan:

"…"

Baby Xian:

"ANP! ANP!"

His tiny legs kicked happily.

Bevan felt strangely uncomfortable.

He had fought dragons.

He had fought kings.

He had fought gods.

Yet somehow…

This baby was much harder to deal with.

Bevan slowly turned around.

Then began walking away.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Baby Xian followed.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Bevan's eyes twitched.

So he spread his wings.

FWOOOOOOOSH!!

The giant ant flew upward.

Within seconds he landed on the rooftop of the Tenno Household.

Bevan crossed his arms.

Bevan:

"Hm."

Surely that solved the problem.

The Young Lord couldn't follow him up here.

Several seconds passed.

Then—

Baby Xian:

"ANP! ANP!"

Bevan froze.

Slowly.

Very slowly.

He looked down.

Baby Xian was somehow already below the rooftop.

Looking directly at him.

Smiling.

Drooling.

Reaching toward him.

Bevan:

"…"

Baby Xian:

"ANP!!"

Bevan:

"…How strange."

His voice contained genuine curiosity.

Bevan:

"Why is the Young Lord always looking for me?"

He looked down again.

Baby Xian immediately smiled wider.

Bevan looked away.

Baby Xian crawled toward where Bevan moved.

Bevan looked right.

Baby Xian looked right.

Bevan looked left.

Baby Xian looked left.

Bevan:

"…"

This was becoming concerning.

A shadow suddenly emerged beside him.

Ashen.

One of the Shadow Soldiers.

Ashen had been watching the entire scene.

And trying not to laugh.

Ashen:

"There's no way he'd hate you."

Bevan turned.

His head tilted sideways.

Bevan:

"…Explain."

Ashen pointed at him.

Ashen:

"Commander."

Bevan:

"Hm?"

Ashen:

"An ant larger than a human is walking around."

Bevan nodded.

Ashen:

"You can fly."

Bevan nodded again.

Ashen:

"You can talk."

Another nod.

Ashen:

"And you're stronger than almost everyone."

Bevan crossed his arms.

Ashen shrugged.

Ashen:

"What child would hate that?"

Silence.

Bevan entered deep thought.

A very deep thought.

Perhaps deeper than necessary.

Bevan:

"I'm big…"

He raised one finger.

Bevan:

"I can talk…"

A second finger.

Bevan:

"I can fly…"

A third finger.

Ashen nodded.

Bevan looked toward Baby Xian.

Then back toward Ashen.

Then toward Baby Xian again.

Bevan:

"So that's why the Little Lord likes me?"

Ashen:

"Probably."

Bevan:

"…"

Ashen:

"…"

Bevan:

"I see."

For some reason…

Bevan looked slightly proud.

A few moments later.

Baby Xian pointed upward.

Baby Xian:

"ANP!"

Bevan immediately looked away.

Pretending not to notice.

Baby Xian pointed harder.

Baby Xian:

"ANP!!"

Bevan continued pretending.

Ashen watched.

Then finally spoke.

Ashen:

"I think he wants you to come down."

Bevan:

"I refuse."

Ashen:

"…"

Bevan:

"The Young Lord is dangerous."

Ashen blinked.

Ashen:

"Dangerous?"

Bevan nodded seriously.

Bevan:

"He attempts to grab my antennae every day."

Ashen nearly laughed.

Bevan:

"Yesterday he successfully grabbed one."

Ashen:

"…"

Bevan:

"I still remember the pain."

✨ The World of Absolute

Far away from the Tenno Household.

A dimensional portal opened.

Bevan stepped through.

The scenery instantly changed.

Massive mountains stretched into the heavens.

Ancient castles floated in the sky.

Gigantic rivers of mana flowed across the landscape.

This was the World of Absolute.

The headquarters of countless loyal followers.

The place where Chaos Tenno was worshipped like a living legend.

And at the center…

An enormous construction project was underway.

Thousands of workers moved back and forth.

Demons.

Spirits.

Warriors.

Constructs.

Everyone worked tirelessly.

The reason?

A statue.

A gigantic statue of Chaos Tenno.

The statue towered over entire mountain ranges.

Its size was so absurd that clouds drifted around its shoulders.

The moment Bevan arrived—

Everyone immediately stopped working.

???:

"Commander, you have arrived."

Thousands bowed simultaneously.

Bevan nodded.

Bevan:

"We need to alter our plan a little."

The workers froze.

Their faces immediately turned pale.

???:

"Pardon?"

Another worker dropped his tools.

???:

"B-But Commander!"

He pointed toward the colossal statue.

???:

"This fresh statue of the Liege has been planned by you for months!"

Another worker nodded.

???:

"For the Liege's thirty-second birthday!"

Several workers looked nervous.

Changing the design now?

After all this time?

Bevan calmly walked forward.

Bevan:

"I'm not cancelling it."

Everyone sighed in relief.

Bevan:

"I'm simply adjusting certain details."

The workers relaxed.

Bevan pointed toward the statue.

Bevan:

"Make the smile slightly larger."

The workers wrote notes.

Bevan:

"Increase the aura effects."

More notes.

Bevan:

"Add a throne."

Even more notes.

Bevan paused.

Then continued.

Bevan:

"And add a smaller statue beside the Liege."

The workers blinked.

???:

"A smaller statue?"

Bevan nodded.

Bevan:

"The Young Lord."

The entire construction site became silent.

Workers exchanged looks.

Then smiles spread across their faces.

???:

"That's actually brilliant."

???:

"The Liege and Young Lord together."

???:

"It'll look amazing."

Bevan folded his arms proudly.

Bevan:

"Obviously."

The workers immediately began discussing plans.

One worker finally spoke.

???:

"This is definitely possible, Commander."

Bevan nodded.

???:

"In fact…"

The worker looked excited.

???:

"I think the final result will be even better."

Bevan smirked.

???:

"However…"

The worker scratched his head.

???:

"We need far more manpower."

Bevan raised an eyebrow.

???:

"May I mobilize the demons who created the Demon Statue?"

Bevan immediately laughed.

Bevan:

"Kekekekekekeke!"

His sinister laughter echoed across the mountains.

Bevan:

"Alright then."

Bevan:

"I'll come back after taking care of something."

The workers bowed.

???:

"Understood, Commander!"

A few minutes later.

Outside the Tenno Household.

A black vehicle sat parked across the street.

Its windows were tinted.

The atmosphere felt suspicious.

Inside sat several men.

Gang members.

Criminals.

People who had come looking for trouble.

One man nervously swallowed.

Bad Person 1:

"Hyungnim…"

He looked toward the leader.

Bad Person 1:

"Are you really gonna do this?"

The man called Hyungnim scoffed.

Hyungnim:

"This brat…"

He turned.

Hyungnim:

"What?"

His eyes narrowed.

Hyungnim:

"Are you scared?"

Bad Person 1 immediately shook his head.

Bad Person 1:

"N-No, Hyungnim."

He stuttered.

Hyungnim leaned back in his seat.

His expression darkened.

Hyungnim:

"Just because of Chaos Tenno…"

His fist clenched.

Hyungnim:

"Our gang disappeared."

The car became silent.

Hyungnim:

"Our businesses were ruined."

Hyungnim:

"Our members were scattered."

Hyungnim:

"Our reputation was destroyed."

His anger continued growing.

Hyungnim:

"If we got attacked many times…"

He slowly smiled.

A dangerous smile.

Hyungnim:

"Then wouldn't it be fair if we got him back once?"

Nobody answered.

The other gang members exchanged uneasy glances.

Because deep down…

None of them wanted to mess with Chaos Tenno.

The stories alone were terrifying.

But they didn't dare argue.

Not with Hyungnim.

Not now.

Unfortunately for them—

Someone had already heard everything.

Far above the vehicle.

Standing on the rooftop.

Watching silently.

Two crimson eyes glowed.

Bevan.

The commander slowly smiled.

A smile far more terrifying than Hyungnim's.

Bevan:

"…Interesting."

The air around him began to distort.

Killing intent slowly leaked into the atmosphere.

Bevan:

"So insects have come looking for the Liege."

A chill spread through the street.

The gang members suddenly shivered.

Even though they didn't know why.

Bevan's smile widened.

Bevan:

"How unfortunate."

At that exact moment—

Baby Xian pointed at the rooftop.

Baby Xian:

"ANP!"

Bevan immediately froze.

The killing intent vanished.

His terrifying expression disappeared.

Baby Xian's eyes sparkled.

Baby Xian:

"ANP! ANP!"

His tiny hands stretched toward Bevan.

The commander stared down in silence.

Then sighed.

Bevan:

"…A greater threat has appeared."

And for the first time in years…

The terrifying commander who had once shaken kingdoms…

Quietly retreated from a baby.

While the gang members below remained completely unaware that their greatest danger wasn't Chaos Tenno.

It was the giant ant currently trying to avoid being hugged.

A few minutes later.

Chaos Tenno and Rowena Graves sit at the table and Chaos Tenno looks at the picture and chuckles a bit.

Chaos Tenno:

"Oh my gosh where is another five year old child that can draw ants, dragons and apostles so well like this to think our son had a talent of drawing."

Rowena Graves sweats a bit.

Rowena:

"This is funny look at the last page."

"Xian said that on the black ground, there's a huge dad, is there something to your why are you laughing?"

Chaos Tenno chuckles.

Chaos Tenno:

"N-No I just thought of something funny."

Rowena arms crossed in front of her.

Her forehead sweats and she said.

Rowena:

"…Other children are scared of Xian."

Chaos Tenno was confused for a bit then he replied.

Chaos Tenno:

"Other children?"

Rowena:

"Apparently whenever they get close to Xian there expressions change and even when no one bothered them or scared."

Chaos Tenno puts his hand on his chin and thinks.

Chaos Tenno:

"It's because children's senses are a lot more pure than adults, so that's how they can feel the monarchs power."

Then reason why children are avoiding Xian is because they can feel the Shadows, Destruction and Absolute.

It's because the power passed down to me, so it's didn't develop into disaster.

Usually in order to Destroy or Annilate everything 'An other worldly god' has made, they hide a horrific inside of their trusted servant.

If the powers of the Dragon Monarch,Shadow Monarch and Absolute Monarch mixed together into one is gradually increasing inside of Xian, who has inherited the power without knowing….

It'd be impossible to live a normal life.

At least until Xian reaches the perfect age where he can perfectly control his power, there is a need to suppress it.

Rowena looks at Chaos Tenno who is looking at all of the photos.

Rowena:

"Honey…?"

Chaos Tenno:

"Until Xian can live a normal life without any difficulties I'm gonna seal Xian's memories about the Dragon,Shadow and Apostles Soliders and his powers for awhile."

Suddenly someone popps out of Chaos Tennos shadow.

Bevan:

"My King…"

Chaos Tenno gives Bevan a photo then he said.

Chaos Tenno:

"Here, this is a drawing that Xian drew of you."

Bevan looks at the drawling and tiers up and said.

Bevan:

"My King… May I please say my goodbyes to the little lord?"

Bevan opens Xians room who is still sleeping and goes on aside of the bed and speaks while tearing.

Bevan:

"Little Lord."

"For all of the Soldiers I will instead say our farewell.

Baby Xian sleep talking.

Baby Xian:

"Commander Ant…."

"Commander Ant…."

Bevan:

"It was an honor to be able to serve the little lord. Until we meet again please be well…"

"Little Lord even if I'm not there please be diglient with your studies…"

"Please be healthy little lord…"

"Waaah, Waaaah, Waaaah."

Now Chaos Tennos aura glows golden and gently puts his hands on baby Xian who is still sleeping.

He said softly.

Chaos Tenno:

"Sweet Dreams…"

The door shuts quietly.

A few years later….

Xian is Eighteen sleeping in the bed.

The sun shines.

You see people going to Highschool everyone is shouting for the first day.

Now there's a certain guy holding his backpack Black Hair and Black Eyes he is holding his phone whith his one of his hands in his pocket while working.

An Eighteen Year Old Boy Ye Xian.
