Later turned out to be after the twins were settled and Mira had said goodnight and the Citadel had moved into its quiet evening version of itself and the day was done in the specific way that days were done when everything that needed to happen had happened and there was nothing left that required anyone to be anywhere.
She found him in the workspace.
He was doing the thing he did at the end of days that had been full, reading through the session notes with the focused half-attention of someone processing rather than studying, making sure nothing had been missed before he let the day close. He did not look up when she came in. He had felt her coming through the bond and he was waiting with the specific quality of someone who knew what was coming and had already decided how he felt about it.
She closed the door.
She crossed the room.
She took the session notes out of his hands and set them on the desk.
He looked up.
She looked at him.
He said: "The meeting went well."
