Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 — If Even Mice Can Do Mouse Dance, Then Who Can’t Use Dragon Dance?

Limited by base stats, route-one rodents are generally considered pretty weak in battle.

Aside from the occasional clutch Super Fang, they basically don't have any standout strengths.

But Maushold is an absolute exception.

After Qingyu issued his command, the four little white mice on his side of the field calmly pulled out brooms from behind their backs and, with perfect coordination, sprinted off in four different directions.

Wherever they passed, the Stealth Rock scattered by Skarmory, the dust on the ground—even Skarmory itself—was quickly swept completely clean.

In an instant, the entire battlefield looked brand new.

[Where am I??? Is this still a Pokémon battle? Where did you hire these AAA-tier housekeeping mouse masters?!][The opponent is stunned too—so you can remove hazards like THIS? No more greed-setting rocks now, huh?][Not gonna lie, Maushold clears hazards insanely fast!]

"You didn't think that was the end, did you?"

Qingyu smiled faintly, his gaze fixed on Maushold as they finished cleaning.

The mice quickly returned to their side of the field.

But before they could even relax, the Skarmory—still affected by Encore—scattered another wave of Stealth Rock.

A few pebbles even landed precisely on the mice's foreheads.

Maushold's eyes instantly sharpened. All four pairs of eyes locked onto Skarmory with murderous intent as their bodies began to glow with an orange light.

This mouse… is actually pissed now.

Tidy Up, also known as Mouse Dance.

One of Maushold's signature moves—and a move that can also be inherited by Furret and Cinccino.

This move is no joke.

Everyone knows Dragon Dance is a noble and highly prized boosting move. Before its TM became widespread, only a very small number of Dragon-types could even learn it.

For many Pokémon, the ability to raise both Attack and Speed provides a level of direct combat power that Swords Dance simply can't match.

And the reason Tidy Up is called Mouse Dance is precisely because—in addition to clearing all hazards on both sides of the field, and even removing Substitutes,it also grants a buff equivalent to Dragon Dance.

As for the logic behind it…

Maybe Maushold just collectively suffers from germophobia and can't stand seeing trash left on the field—so out of pure kindness, they send the opponent back into their Poké Ball?

Master Mouse… you're too gentle!

In short, it's hard to believe that a single move can simultaneously clear hazards, break Substitutes, and boost stats.

Qingyu had said it before—powerful moves usually come with side effects.

So what's the drawback of Tidy Up?

The answer is simple:It also clears your own hazards and Substitutes.

But the solution is even simpler—

If I don't set hazards and don't use Substitute, then doesn't that mean there's no downside?

A Maushold that has mastered such a technique was naturally anything but weak.

So let me ask you this—

If even mice can do Mouse Dance, then who can't use Dragon Dance?

That's a real head-scratcher~ (laughs)

Seeing Maushold get powered up, the opponent froze for a moment before reacting decisively and recalling Skarmory.

It was already a bit late—but if they didn't deal with this now, they'd really be nurturing a monster.

"Keep tidying up!"

Seizing the moment while the opponent switched, Qingyu gave another command.

Not only were the Stealth Rocks above his field removed again,Maushold's combat power was further boosted.

Maxed Speed. Doubled output. The mice were clearly ready to become a roaming dragon.

Under pressure, the opponent sent out Bronzong.

"I don't even need to look—he's definitely going for Trick Room."

Qingyu shook his head.

He'd already mentioned in his videos that this team only works when the opponent isn't prepared.

Because it's just too easy to read—every Pokémon has a very fixed role.

As long as the opponent is thinking about counterplay, they'll never let you have your way.

"Bronzong, Trick Room!"

"Maushold, Taunt!"

Both commands were read almost simultaneously, but Maushold was clearly much faster.

Before Trick Room could finish charging, a burst of dark energy slipped into Bronzong's body, forcibly interrupting the move.

[? It stopped?][THIS was predicted too?! Streamer really was hiding tech!][Such decisive commands—he definitely read the opponent's mind. Streamer suspected of exposing true strength…]

If the earlier Encore could be attributed to better team understanding, this Taunt was pure psychological domination.

The gap between the two Trainers was painfully obvious.

The opponent completely froze, staying silent for a long while before finally issuing another command.

"Protect!"

Before they could even finish speaking, Qingyu's lips curled upward as he spoke first.

"Your next line is—"

"Bronzong, Explosion!"

The Protect barrier dropped in advance, standing in front of the Maushold family.

Bronzong slowly approached.

At the same time, its body began flashing white—the intervals growing shorter and shorter.

Until it was completely engulfed in light,a terrifying wave of energy erupted from its center, accompanied by a blinding flash and a thunderous explosion.

And yet—

When the smoke from the self-destruct finally cleared,Bronzong lay unconscious on the field—

while Maushold stood completely unharmed.

Because Qingyu had prepared in advance, even such a close-range Explosion only barely shattered the Protect barrier, dealing almost no damage to Maushold.

[I'm actually stunned—two consecutive perfect reads. The opponent's mental probably exploded harder than Bronzong.][HACKS!]

"Basic mechanics, no need to spam 666. This is just fundamental prediction, students. Play enough and you'll get there."

Qingyu smiled lightly—the deadliest flex is the invisible one.

This awareness was forged through tens of thousands of Pokémon battles.Sure, he might still fall short of pro players from his previous life—but he was definitely a high-level player.

Those two reads didn't just bring the score to 1–0—they completely destroyed the opponent's game plan.

Set hazards? They get removed—and even buff the opponent.Don't set hazards and try brute force? Against this fully boosted Maushold, that's basically suicide.

Try to trade with Explosion? You'll probably get read again and donate another Pokémon for free.

After just a few turns, the opponent was already mentally smoking.

With their brain lagging, their commands slowed down significantly.

And besides—Maushold had more than just Tidy Up.

"Maushold—Population Bomb!"

The opponent's Metagross had barely hit the field when an entire swarm of mice came charging at it, teeth bared.

Their speed was absurd. In the blink of an eye, multiple biting attacks landed.

Metagross's HP plummeted like a roller coaster, nearly getting wiped out on the spot.

That was with its Steel typing resisting Normal-type moves, and its naturally solid defenses.

If it had been any other type—or something even a bit frailer—it would've been sent straight to the shadow realm.

[Huh?!][???][This damage is insane—Maushold is actually THIS strong?!]

The chat instantly filled with question marks, completely shocked by the sight of Metagross being suppressed by a bunch of mice.
