Chapter 133 - CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY - THREE

Freda POV

 

I looked at the long line of crossbow bolts pointing right at my chest. My hands were shaking so hard the handle of my knife kept tapping against my belt buckle. We were seventeen wolves, and more than half of us could barely stand up straight.

 

"They have the whole yard covered," I whispered. I shifted my weight onto my left foot because my right ankle was throbbing from the fight with the soldier.

 

"Keep your eyes on the captain," Rex said. He didn't move his iron pipe, but his knuckles were pale and covered in dry soot.

 

"We don't run," Urdon said from behind me. He forced his back straight, even though I could hear the breath rattling hard in his chest. His ruined right arm stayed pinned against his shirt, but he held his left hand steady.

 

Viktor let out another wet laugh from the dirt. He was still leaning his back against the stone rim of the well, his fingers clamping down on his bleeding thigh.
