I watched in complete panic as Kyran started glowing brighter and brighter. The white light surrounding him was so intense I could barely look at it. He was fading. Disappearing and being taken into the moon itself.
"No," I screamed his name as loud as I could. "Kyran no. Do not do this. Please do not leave us."
I tried to run to him. Tried to reach him before he vanished completely. But Urdon grabbed my arm weakly from where he lay bleeding on the ground. His grip was not strong, but it was enough to stop me.
"Let me go," I begged him. "I have to stop Kyran. I have to save him."
"You cannot save him," Urdon said. His voice was weak and full of pain. "The spirits have already accepted his sacrifice. It is too late."
"No, it is not too late," I insisted. "I can still reach him. I can still pull him back."
