Kai held the girl tightly as she kept weeping after a while she finnaly stopped and Kai got a closer look at her she had long deep brown hair, hazel eyes, a thin scar on her bottom lips, a thin nose, slender body, a small chest, she wore a brown dress made out of animal skin her forearms were covered in blue paint.
" My name is Kai What about you."
" I am Phoenix Nala, thank you for saving my life i thought i would have to live my life as those things breeding machine."
Phoenix answered as she looked at the dead bodies of the ravenous boars that littered the ground. Kia held her hands tightly as he spoke.
" Do not worry that will not happen i would not allow such a thing to happen, but sorry to ask but what happened to you and your friends."
Kai asked as he pointed at the heads of men that were hanging on the boars waists. Phoenix looked at the dead body of her friends and her expression saddened.
" We were sent by the tribe to hunt for tonight's meal but when we were busy hunting we ended up running into those beasts and they slaughtered my friends expect me we tried we really tried to fight them off but they were so strong we could not even penetrate their skins with our weapons."
You could not pentetrate thier skin with your weapons than that means they are not awakened, Kai thought to himself.
" Sorry for you loss, but if your weapons could not penetrate their skin than does that mean your are not lehem practitioner and if you are not lehem practitioner what are doing here."
" Yes you are right we are not lehem practitioner but we do have weapons that are made out of mythical and profane monster these weapons are used to kill beasts that can be used as a food sources for our tribe, and the reason that me and my friend were out here is just bad luck we were chasing after our prey but we did not notice that we went beyond the safe zone where these monsters reside and to our suprise our weapons were ineffective against the humaniod boars."
" Mhh I see so that you being here was just bad luck."
So these people have weapons made out of beasts that is quit rare to see none lehem practitioners to have them so it seems that their tribe may not have a lot of lehem practitioners ,but were am I even I don't recognize this place.
Kai thought as his eyes wondered around the trees around them.
" Well this will sound strange but one last question where am I what is this place called."
" No it's not strange I can tell by your clothes that you are not from here, well here is beyond the outer settlements of the Esarosa kingdom most tribes decided to stay here even if it's close the palce were profane and other creatures reside but thanks to her majesty our when beasts that are beyond us attack our lands she always sends her people to eradicate them that is why we have been able to survive for all these years."
Interesting so there are people that live beyond the outer settlements of our kingdom, it seems there are still some places that am I not aware of, Kai thought.
" So what this place called?."
" oh it is called the road to redemption."
Kai's face dropped as he heard these words.
What road to redemption isn't that the place that lehem slayed millions of ancient profane and mythical creature this place is a high level danger zone that has been restricted to people even a saint must not enter if they do they will start a war with its ancient residents that hate lehem practitioners no wonder she and her friends are not awakened but why are the people at the academy sending us here are they really culling strong people that are not part of the great houses, fuck i should have just said I was royalty look at the where I am at now,but something does not make sense why would people be living here and why would mother send soldiers to defend these people, Kai pondered as he looked at the girl infront of her.
" The people that the Queen send what mind of armor do they wear?"
" They wear white armor with a tint of gold on their shoulders."
Just like a thought she sent her own personal legion so that means she is secretly protecting them, oh how to kind-hearted of you mother if war breaks out and the residents of this land attack our kingdom our people will rebel against you and hand you over to the rulers of this land to save their lives because I doubt you would be able to face against all of them,Kai thought as he looked at the girl infront of him.
" I know that is said one last question but why are you lying to me the Queen may send her guards here to protect you against creatures that you cannot handle but that is not the reason that your tribes are still alive today so tell me why are you allowed to live in this place."
Kai asked with a inquisitive expression.
The girl looked at his face and sighed.
" I am grateful that you saved me but the reason that I lied to you is because I am not allowed to speak about that if I did it might get our tribes in trouble."
The girl answered as she looked at the ground not daring to look at Kai's face.
" I see well I won't ask any further questions if you got some you can ask."
" Thank you for understanding, what are you doing here it is strange to see outsiders except for the Queen soldiers in this place."
" Well truthfully I don't know what I am doing here I thought I was here for training but it seems otherwise."
" Ohh i see so what are you going to do know."
" Well since i have already helped free you I think I will go up ahead and seek the other ravenous boars out and finish what I started and see if I cannot find anyone that is still alive in their cave."
"Can I come with i don't think that I can make it back home alone."
" Don't worry I was not planning to leave you alone here that what would have been the use of saving you now get up let us go boar hunting."
Kai and Phoenix walked in silence following the path that the boars were taking after walking for a few hours the found tracks that led them to a secluded cave were they saw boars entering it with dead creatures.
" It seem we finally found their cave."
" It looks like it but I don't have a weapon to fight against them."
" I said I will take you with me not fight against them with you."
"But.."
Before she could finish her sentence Kia interrupted her.
" Besides you are not fit to fight against them you may be angry and want to avenge your friends but the way you are right know you will only end up dead."
Phoenix looked at her tattered dress and wounds and sighed as she agreed with Kia.
" Okay I understand your reasoning but where will I stay since you will be fighting against those beast, and not that I doubt your strengh is saw how yoh killed those beasts but you did not use any abilities which means you are a normal person you don't even have the presence of a lehem practitioner."
Kai smiled and rubbed his head.
" Well I might not look it I am a lehem practitioner and I don't know why I don't have the presence of one maybe my aura is weak compared to other practitioners that you have seen and the reason that i was not using any of my abilities is because i was training myself to not be overly reliant on my powers when fighting against vile creatures like those boars and who knows maybe in the future i might face a situation where i cannot use my abilities."
" oh sorry for doubting you but that is crazy off you do think you can fight against against all every creature in this world without using your power my father once told me that there are creatures that physical strength is not enough to defeat them."
" Yeah maybe you father is right."
But he does not know that a thing like me exist in this world that can fight them head on using only my fists, Kai thought as he remembered crushing the humaniod boars head with his bare fists.
" We are getting of topic now we must find a hiding spot for you."
KAI and Phoenix backtracked as they looked for a hiding spot for her after searching for a few minutes the found a nice small hole that was facing the entrance of the cave on the ground that was ten meters away from the cave.
" This place will do right?"
Kai asked as he examined Phoenix to see if her body would fit in the hole.
" Yeah it is sadly my body is small enough to fit in the hole."
Phoenix answered as she examined her self.
" I don't see what you sad about you have good proportions."
Kai said as he examined her backside and chest.
Phoenix held he chest shyly.
" Don't look at them you perv."
She said while blushing.
" ahem enough of that now go in."
Phoenix did not hesitate as she entered the hole after that kai smiled at her and spoke.
" ohh one more thing if I don't Come out in two or five hours in that cave run as fast as you can back to you tribe who knows you might be lucky and make it back."
Kai said chuckling as he walked away from Phoenix not giving her a chance to respond.
