Aaron was not the kind of person who would quietly let others walk all over him.
Everyone had a limit, and after seeing how eagerly the passengers had condemned him without knowing what had happened, his patience was gone.
His response only made the crowd angrier.
Some of them had already begun to suspect that the elderly couple might not be telling the whole story. By that point, however, admitting they had judged Aaron too quickly would have meant admitting they were wrong.
It was easier to take offense at his words instead.
"Watch your mouth, kid. I've got decades more life experience than you."
"Exactly. Who raised this brat? Someone like him shouldn't even be allowed on the plane."
"You'd better hope you don't run into me after we land."
"Someone call a flight attendant. He's completely out of control."
One man kept his phone trained on Aaron.
"Keep talking. Once this goes online, everyone will know what kind of person you are."
"We should find out who he is too," another passenger added. "Send the video to his university and make sure they know what kind of student they accepted."
"He deserves it. Someone like him should be expelled."
A young woman several rows away hesitated before speaking.
"Maybe everyone should calm down. None of us actually saw how this started."
Several passengers immediately turned on her.
"What does this have to do with you?"
"Why are you defending him?"
"You must know him."
"I don't. I was only saying—"
Her voice was quickly drowned out.
The crowd attacked her so viciously that tears gathered in her eyes, even though she had done nothing more than ask them to hear the full story.
Aaron's expression hardened.
These people no longer cared about what had happened. They only cared about protecting the version of events they had already chosen to believe.
A crushing pressure suddenly rolled through the economy cabin.
Every voice died at once.
For one breathless moment, the passengers stared at Aaron as though a dangerous predator had appeared among them. The air itself seemed to grow heavier, and several people instinctively lowered their phones.
Before the silence could stretch any further, two flight attendants hurried down the aisle with a Hawlucha following closely behind.
"Who requested assistance?" one of them asked.
"What happened here?"
Aaron withdrew the pressure surrounding him.
The cabin immediately erupted again.
"It was him!"
"He attacked that elderly man!"
"We tried to intervene, and then he started threatening everyone."
"You need to restrain him until we land."
"Call the police and hand him over at the airport!"
The elderly woman pointed furiously at Aaron.
"He assaulted my husband! Everyone here saw it!"
The surrounding passengers eagerly supported her account, each retelling making Aaron sound more violent than the last.
The senior flight attendant listened without interrupting.
Then she looked at Aaron.
He appeared young, but nothing in his posture suggested panic or guilt. While nearly half the cabin shouted accusations at him, he remained calmly seated.
"Sir," she said carefully, "can you tell me what happened?"
Aaron gave a quiet, humorless laugh.
"You have security cameras in the cabin, don't you?"
The flight attendant nodded.
"Then check the footage."
His gaze moved across the passengers still holding up their phones.
"And make sure you note everyone who threatened to expose me, identify my university, or ruin my life before bothering to ask what actually happened."
The elderly couple's expressions changed.
The old woman immediately raised her voice.
"Why waste time checking cameras?"
She gestured toward the surrounding passengers.
"So many people are saying he attacked us. Are you claiming all of them are lying?"
"He's dangerous! Restrain him now!"
Aaron looked directly at her.
"Enough."
The pressure returned, this time focused entirely on her.
Her voice died in her throat.
She stared at him in terror, unable to force out another word.
By then, even the flight attendants could tell that something was wrong.
The senior attendant took out her control tablet and accessed the aircraft's cabin security system.
A recording appeared on one of the overhead monitors.
The footage showed the elderly man suddenly reclining his seat. The seatback struck Aaron's shoulder and left him with barely enough space to move.
Aaron had remained calm.
His voice played clearly through the cabin speakers.
"Excuse me. Your seat hit me when you reclined it, and you've left me with almost no room. Could you raise it a little?"
The old man's reply followed.
"I recline my seat every time I fly, and no one else has ever complained."
"Why are you making such a fuss?"
"You look like a college student. Is this what they teach you at school?"
"No manners at all. Either your school failed you, or your parents never taught you properly."
The footage continued, showing Aaron force the seat upright, the old man unfasten his belt and attempt to slap him, and Aaron catch his wrist before the blow could land.
It also captured the elderly woman twisting the confrontation into an assault, followed by the surrounding passengers condemning Aaron without ever asking what had happened.
Their threats to post his face online, identify his university, and destroy his future all played through the cabin speakers—as did the moment they turned on the only woman who had asked them to hear the full story.
By the time the recording ended, the entire cabin had fallen silent.
Phones were quietly lowered, and the smug satisfaction had vanished from the elderly couple's faces.
With every word and movement preserved on camera, there was no longer any way to distort what had happened.
