Even with Pin Missile blocked, he didn't look bothered.
"Beedrill—Venoshock."
Flying low, Beedrill kept its eyes locked on Pinsir. The fight had already turned. Now it was pressing the advantage.
A burst of purple energy gathered at its tail, then a stream of toxic liquid shot downward.
"Pinsir—X-Scissor!"
The Bug Catcher reacted immediately.
"Krrrr!"
Already weakened by the poison, Pinsir let out a strained cry as white light flared along its pincers. It slashed forward, forming a cross-shaped strike that collided with the incoming venom.
Boom.
The impact burst outward. Poison splashed across the ground, hissing as it ate into the surface and sent up thick white smoke.
"Beedrill—Poison Jab."
He followed up at once.
"Bzz!"
Beedrill moved in a flash.
In the next instant, it was already behind Pinsir.
Its toxin-coated stinger pierced straight into its body.
"KRRR!"
Pinsir cried out as the impact slammed it into the ground, debris scattering in all directions.
The poison had fully taken hold. Its body was stained purple, strength rapidly draining away.
After enduring repeated hits, it was already at its limit, lying on the ground and struggling to breathe.
There was nothing left of its earlier imposing presence.
"Bzz…"
Beedrill hovered above, letting out a low, satisfied hum.
It could feel the difference.
The opponents that once overwhelmed it… didn't matter anymore.
This strength—its Trainer gave it that.
And it would use it to break through anything in his way.
"Pinsir, get up!"
"We haven't lost yet!"
The Bug Catcher shouted, his voice tense.
"Krrh…"
Pinsir struggled, forcing itself up inch by inch.
"Finish it, Beedrill."
"Twineedle."
His voice dropped, cold and decisive.
"Bzz!"
Beedrill shot forward like a gust of wind, closing the distance in an instant.
Two clean strikes landed back-to-back.
"KRR—!"
Pinsir let out one last cry—then everything went dark.
Its massive body hit the ground with a heavy thud, dust rising on impact.
The Bug Catcher's final Pokémon had fallen.
Beedrill had taken down all three on its own.
A flawless win.
...
"Pinsir is unable to battle!"
"With all three of the red side's Pokémon down, the winner is the blue side!"
Simon waved his flag as he called it.
The crowd snapped out of their daze.
"Damn… that was insane!"
"No wonder he won the whole thing!"
"A Beedrill sweeping all three? I've never seen that before!"
"Hah, he picked that fight himself and got crushed."
"Serves him right."
...
Applause broke out across the field, all eyes on the unstoppable Beedrill.
The Bug Catcher silently recalled Pinsir. Before leaving, he cast Aaron one last long look—then turned and walked away.
Aaron watched him go, a slight frown forming as he fell into thought.
"Hey, Aaron. When did you even catch that Beedrill? It's crazy strong."
Yuri walked over, giving him a light pat on the shoulder and pulling him back.
"Oh… just picked it up in the forest."
He smiled.
"Man, your luck's ridiculous. Finding something like that…"
"Next time you run into one, call me. I want one too."
"Alright. Next time, I'll help you find a good one."
"You better."
"I will."
Not long after, they got back in the car and left.
...
Deep in the forest, the Bug Catcher made a video call.
Beep… beep…
"Hello?"
"Sting? What is it? I'm busy."
An elderly man appeared on the screen—white hair, lab coat, standing inside a vast laboratory.
Sting's gaze shifted past him.
Behind the man, inside a large glass tank filled with nutrient fluid, a mysterious Pokémon floated in silence.
Its body was entirely purple, encased in hardened metallic armor. A cannon-like structure was mounted along its back.
It didn't move.
For a brief moment, something flashed in Sting's eyes—greed, sharp and unmistakable—before it disappeared.
He lowered his head slightly.
"Dr. Kain… I came across a Beedrill today. Strong… and unusual. I think it could be useful for your research."
"I've already sent the battle footage."
Dr. Kain frowned and accepted the file.
"You'd better be right. Otherwise, you know the consequences."
"Yes, Doctor."
He responded immediately. The video began to play. It showed the battle from earlier.
The moment Beedrill dropped two Pokémon back-to-back—even a Scoliopede that had stacked its Defense—Dr. Kain's eyes lit up.
"Incredible…"
"I want that Beedrill."
"I'm going to dissect it."
"Bring it to me. Now."
