Chapter 271 - Chapter 259: Night Operation

Up in the sky, enduring the loud noise of the helicopter's rotors churning the air,

Hunter suppressed his discomfort and carefully looked down at Las Vegas below.

"Boss, we can't go any lower."

The helicopter pilot shouted loudly.

Hunter was currently riding in a sightseeing helicopter provided by a company in the city that offered aircraft rental services.

He had rented a helicopter individually, having it take him over the city of Las Vegas for a low-altitude tour.

Meanwhile, Hunter kept looking down through a pair of binoculars.

At the same time, he tried his best to memorize every street and alley near the city center, especially the terrain around Charles Tower.

"Fly over that way!"

Hunter pointed in a direction, signaling the helicopter to fly over.

Because he had given a generous tip, the helicopter pilot was quite obedient.

After flying in the sky for a full hour, Hunter had also mapped out the terrain around Charles Tower.

Another half an hour later, he had arrived at the roof of a building six or seven hundred meters away from Charles Tower.

Standing on the rooftop terrace, Hunter raised an infrared laser rangefinder to first test the distance from his chosen building to Charles Tower.

He then switched to a clearer pair of high-powered binoculars and began to observe carefully.

It was difficult to see inside the building through the glass of Charles Tower's exterior walls during the day.

However, once night fell, especially with the lights on inside the building, everything became very clear.

Despite this, after observing seriously for a while, Hunter still captured some useful information from several open glass windows of that building.

"The fifteenth to seventeenth floors seem to have been renovated..."

"That should be Vera Tseleski's residence!"

After careful observation for a while, Hunter couldn't help but frown.

Charles Tower wasn't very tall, only 24 stories.

However, according to his observation, the difficulty of rappelling down from the roof was very high.

Unless Hunter was willing to expose some of his trump cards, he didn't want to take that risk.

The building he had chosen was the best position within a two-kilometer radius from which to observe Charles Tower.

But the design of that building was very interesting; Hunter could only observe two sides of the tower from here.

Although his physical fitness was nearly five times that of an ordinary adult male.

Up until now, Hunter was still within the category of a 'normal person'.

At least, he hadn't awakened any superpowers like teleportation.

Naturally, he had no way to blink to other positions to observe the other two sides of Charles Tower.

After observing carefully for a while longer, Hunter finally left and returned to the hotel.

As it turned out, when he returned to the hotel, he discovered that Perkins had already come back.

Looking at her expression, she seemed to have made some gains.

"You're back."

Perkins tapped the manuscript paper in front of her; Hunter walked over curiously and saw that it was indeed the internal design blueprints of Charles Tower.

The escape routes, elevators, and the structural layout of each floor were generally quite clear.

"Did you find out which floors Vera Tseleski bought and renovated?"

Hunter asked curiously.

"The fifteenth to seventeenth floors!"

Perkins tapped on the blueprints, her face full of excitement and anticipation.

"Let's start the operation tonight!"

Hunter frowned, but he didn't stop her.

"Alright, I'll coordinate the operation with you tonight."

"I found a building nearby where the roof can provide me with a very good observation angle."

"However, only two sides of Charles Tower can be seen from there."

"To avoid any problems, I'll move with you tonight."

"No need!"

Perkins shook her head and refused directly.

"Just provide protection for me from the roof of that building."

She had called Hunter over initially because she was worried that it would be difficult to handle the target of this commission on her own.

But now that Perkins had found the blueprints for Charles Tower, her confidence was suddenly overflowing.

She was a top assassin to begin with, especially since she had also found out that afternoon that Vera Tseleski only had two cars following him when he went out.

All things considered, Perkins felt that the casino tycoon had at most a dozen or so men under him.

If there were only that many people, and Hunter was stationed on a nearby tall building with a sniper rifle to provide support.

Perkins felt that it shouldn't be difficult for her to take down the opponent.

Hunter raised an eyebrow, but after thinking about it, he didn't refuse.

"Fine then!"

He also knew that Perkins' skills were extraordinary, and if a problem really did arise...

The distance between the two buildings was only a few hundred meters; he should be able to arrive and provide support within ten minutes.

After having an early dinner and getting themselves ready...

Just after seven in the evening, the sky over Las Vegas was not yet completely dark.

Hunter left the hotel together with Perkins.

As for weapons, they had each taken their usual weapons out of the hotel and hidden them in advance during the day.

Hunter had put his back into his private space, while where Perkins had hidden her weapons was not his concern.

The two separated near the hotel, neither saying another word in tacit understanding; after putting on the communicators they had prepared in advance, they each walked off in different directions.

More than half an hour later, Hunter arrived at the roof of the building he had selected that afternoon.

He easily opened the locked door to the rooftop terrace and then relocked it behind him.

From his private space, Hunter took out the McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle, which he had become very adept at using.

He propped the gun on the ledge of the rooftop terrace, aiming it toward Charles Tower.

He then began to observe the fifteenth to seventeenth floors of Charles Tower seriously through the high-powered scope on the rifle.

Unlike during the day, Charles Tower undoubtedly looked much clearer at night.

The fifteenth to seventeenth floors, which Hunter was focusing on, were brilliantly lit at this time.

On the two sides of the building he could observe, except for a few areas where the lights were dim...

Hunter could even see some of the furniture and layout inside the rooms through the sixteen-power scope equipped on the rifle.

He could see the people walking around between the fifteenth and seventeenth floors of Charles Tower.

After thinking for a moment, Hunter turned on the communicator and contacted Perkins through the headset.

"Hey, I've arrived at the target location. Have you arrived yet?"
