"What's wrong with him?"

Once the train started moving, Little Goku looked at Natsu—sprawled across the seat as though half his life were gone—and curiosity filled his face.

Happy raised a paw. "Natsu gets motion-sick on any vehicle, aye!"

"Pathetic. He's out cold before the fight even starts."

Gray, dressed for once, delivered the jab right on cue.

Erza sat beside Natsu, propped him up, slammed a fist into his head, and knocked him cold, then laid him across her lap.

"There—no more motion sickness."

Lucy shuddered. No wonder Sister Mirajane said the three of them weren't always right in the head.

"Wow, so that's how you cure motion sickness!"

Little Goku looked as though he'd just learned something useful.

"All four of them are nuts."

Lucy muttered inwardly.

Gray turned to Erza. "Erza, what exactly is this job?"

So far they didn't know the details, the destination, or what they were supposed to do.

Erza didn't keep it secret any longer and began to explain.

On her way back from an S-Rank job, she'd passed through the city of Onibas.

Inside a bar she'd overheard a conversation between several Mages of the dark guild Eisenwald.

They'd apparently found a terrifying magical item called "Lullaby" and planned to use it for something big.

Eisenwald had once belonged to the Alliance of legal guilds, but because it kept accepting forbidden assassination requests

it was expelled six years ago and turned into a dark guild.

Their ace Mage was Erigor, an S-Class Mage whose assassinations never failed.

Hence the nickname "Shinigami Erigor."

Erza feared Eisenwald might cause a disaster and wanted to strike first—wipe out the entire guild.

But she'd never taken on a whole guild alone, so she'd returned to recruit Natsu and Gray just in case.

"We're attacking an entire guild? Can I still back out?"

Lucy's hair stood on end.

Dark guilds aren't pushovers; any that were got wiped out by the Council.

And now four Mages and a cat were going to assault a whole dark guild—suicidal, surely?

Then there was Erigor; the nickname alone sounded terrifying.

"Fighting a whole guild? Awesome!"

Unlike the terrified Lucy, the rookie Little Goku was thrilled.

This was exactly the kind of mission he loved.

Three hours later the train pulled into Onibas Station and the group disembarked.

They planned to search the city for those Mages and squeeze the location of Eisenwald's headquarters out of them.

"Think they're still in town?"

On the street Gray was skeptical.

Erza shook her head. "No idea. We'll start at that bar—maybe we'll pick up a trail."

"That's like hunting for a needle in a haystack!"

Lucy pressed a hand to her forehead.

Little Goku rubbed his stomach. "Let's eat first."

It was already noon.

Just then Happy, perched on the luggage cart Erza was pulling, raised a paw. "Hey… where's Natsu?"

Everyone froze, then yelled, "Crap—we left him on the train!"

To prevent motion sickness Erza had knocked Natsu out and set him on an empty seat.

When they'd gotten off the crowded platform they'd forgotten the unconscious Natsu.

So Natsu was still on the train, out cold.

They sprinted back, but the train had long since departed.

"Pull the emergency brake! We'll chase it in that parked Magic Car!"

A guilt-stricken Erza barked the order; she would never abandon a comrade.

A Magic Traincan be stopped remotely by station brakes, while a Magic Caris a vehicle powered by a Mage's magic.

"The city patrol will be on us for this!"

Lucy groaned again.

"I can still feel Natsu's Ki. Wait here—I'll bring him back."

Under everyone's stunned gaze Little Goku vanished on the spot.

"Teleportation magic?"

The well-traveled Erza recognized it at once.

In this World some Mages wield spatial magic; the Council can even teleport troops with huge arrays.

So the existence of teleportation didn't shock them.

What shocked them was that Little Goku could use it; they knew his specialty was a magic that could repair things.

Repair-type ki magic, spatial teleportation, and the Giant Magic he'd just learned—

mastering three different branches at such a young age was extraordinary talent.

Usually only Holder Class Mages, relying on tools, could wield multiple types, or older Mages with decades to branch out.

"What are you doing?"

Little Goku had just teleported beside Natsu—guided by Ki—when he saw a pony-tailed man stepping on his friend.

He snapped angrily.

Natsu was his friend; if someone bullied him, he'd get mad.

The pony-tail sneered. "Hmph, another one. You legal-guild Mages are just bragging flies.

Dreaming of attacking our Eisenwald guild.

Today I, Kageyama of Eisenwald, will teach you a lesson."

Black circles spun beneath his feet and eight shadow-serpents shot out, fangs bared for Little Goku.

"Shadow magic – Eight Shadow Snakes."

He'd been sitting two rows behind while the Fairy Tail Mages discussed raiding his guild.

Wary of Fairy Tail's reputation and their numbers, he'd held back.

Only when they'd left a comrade behind had he struck to test them.

The test told him Fairy Tail Mages were nothing special.

Now he regretted not beating them all up earlier.

Another kid? He'd crush him without a thought.

"What kind of magic is that? So weak."

As the shadow-serpents struck, Little Goku flicked a finger eight times; each snake's head burst apart.

To him their speed and strength were laughable; he barely bothered to defend.

Even if they bit him they couldn't hurt him.
