Elaris covered her mouth. "I-I-I-I'm sorry...!!!"
She panicked and then bowed down rapidly at him. "I SWEAR WITH MY FAMILY'S NAME THAT I CAME HERE JUST TO TELL YOU TO SAVE MY DAUGHTER!!!"
"Hahahahahahaha! Don't act all panicked like that." Rex laughed while waving his hand to make her sit back down. "Well, I'm not going to make fun of you or anything, but eh... it's surprising that an old lady in this fantasy world is still feeling all of that."
"But anyway..."
Rex didn't move from his chair right away. He just looked at her with the particular patience of someone who had already decided how the next few minutes were going to go and was in no rush to get there.
"You're staring," Elaris said.
"I'm looking," Rex said. "There's a difference."
"And what exactly are you looking at?"
"Someone who put on a disguise and walked two streets in the dark," Rex said, "and then lost rock paper scissors twice."
"I didn't lose twice..." Elaris straightened slightly. "We only played twice."
