Seraphina's Point Of View
Dr. Harrison closed the door behind us with a soft click, his expression turning serious as he walked over to his heavy mahogany desk. He didn't sit down; instead, he set the folder down and looked at me with a steady, searching gaze that seemed to see past all my carefully constructed defenses.
"I had a feeling you'd call this week," he said softly, his tone carrying the weight of someone who'd been waiting for this conversation. "The last scans we ran... well, we both knew we couldn't play the waiting game much longer. You're ready to start the protocol?"
"I'm ready," I said, my voice firmer this time. I clenched my fists inside my coat pockets to stop the trembling, digging my nails into my palms until the sharp pain grounded me. "No more stalling. Let's just do whatever we have to do."
