My voice stuck completely in my throat. I stared at him in absolute, jaw-dropping shock, my mind struggling to process this revelation. The implications crashed over me in waves, each one more devastating than the last. The room seemed to tilt slightly on its axis. He wasn't just some random thug hired out of a gutter.
He knew me. He had recognized me before any of this nightmare started, which meant he had made a choice… a deliberate, calculated choice to let it all happen. To let his men touch me. To touch me himself.
