Seraphina's Point Of View
The sun wasn't just peeking through my blinds; it launched a full assault on my eyeballs. Golden light streamed across the white duvet in blinding, aggressive streaks. I blinked twice, my vision swimming in a hazy, early-morning fog.
The very first thing I registered was the absolute stillness of my apartment. No roaring sports car engines. No deep, rumbling voices vibrating through the walls. Just the distant sound of morning traffic outside my window and the quiet hum of my refrigerator… a peace so profound it felt almost foreign. Almost unsettling in its completeness.
I felt incredibly drained. But in a ridiculously good way, if I was being entirely honest with myself.
