Nadia's Point Of View
The absolute satisfaction bubbling in my chest felt so immense I thought my ribcage might crack open right then and there. I couldn't stop smiling… broad, genuine, glittering smiles that made my cheeks ache, the exact second Seraphina Vale turned her stiff, overly tailored back and marched out of the operations floor with that pathetic little shadow Rose trailing behind her like a lost puppy.
"Look at her go," I murmured under my breath, leaning my chin in my palm as a soft, purring laugh escaped my lips. "Clack, clack, clack. Walk a little faster, darling. The tower is already falling." The sound of her designer heels against the polished floor was like a countdown to her own demise, and I savored every click.
