Sansa's POV
The king entered with all the weight of his authority, flanked by the gamma and the king's brother, Uncle Louis. Every step he took seemed to make the room shrink around him, his presence commanding attention even without a word.
A rush of conflicting emotions hit me.
Part of me was elated—he had come. I had half-expected, given the tension between our beliefs, that he might stay away. Yet here he was, in all his regal glory, moving toward my casket with measured grace.
They murmured something before turning to my father. He rose immediately, bowing slightly, and exchanged pleasantries with a respect that made my chest tighten.
I let my gaze sweep the room. My friends were nowhere to be seen.
I mean with everything I knew it wasn't supposed to hurt that deeply, but it still did. Because, even though they painted me as a bad friend who didn't listen to them.
I always went all out for them.
