Chapter 109 - Chen Chen's Entrance

When Killian uttered the words "Mandarin," the President's eyes widened, his gaze fixed on Killian, his eyes betraying a mix of terror, fury, and other emotions. He knew what this man was about to do—he was going to kill him, in front of the entire world.

After lowering his head in silence for a moment, the President looked up, meeting Killian's eyes. "Do you realize what you're doing?" he threatened in a low voice. "Kidnapping the President—do you think you'll get away with this unscathed?"

"Hahaha, no, Mr. President, you misunderstand. I have no intention of getting away with this. In fact, I have no need to retreat."

Extending his finger before the President, Killian continued, "After I punish you in front of everyone, someone else will naturally take responsibility for it."

"Besides, after the President's death, there's still the Vice President, isn't there? I'm sure His Excellency will handle these matters for me."

"What? The Vice President?" The President immediately seized on the information. His mind raced as he shouted, "Have you colluded with the Vice President?"

Before the President could finish speaking, Killian's hand, as strong as a steel band, clamped over his mouth.

"Shh, Mr. President," Killian hissed. "Some things don't need to be said aloud. Just know that you're about to receive a new lesson—one that will lead you to heaven." He raised his right hand, formed it into a blade, and struck the back of the Iron Man Armor's neck. A massive force surged through the titanium alloy shell, directly stunning the President into unconsciousness.

"Don't worry," Killian continued, his voice echoing in the chamber. "When you wake, you'll see heaven. And I will rule the world."

Turning to the crowd below, Killian whistled sharply and pointed upward with a clap of his hands, signaling the staff. "Keep hoisting him higher! It's not high enough yet—the dramatic effect isn't sufficient. I want everyone to see him!"

The staff immediately sprang into action. Killian barked orders, directing the personnel around him. Lights, cameras, microphones, weapons—all the necessary equipment were brought into position under his command.

Glancing at his watch, Killian's eyebrows rose. "Alright," he shouted. "It's time. Power up!"

*Thump! Thump! Thump!*

Bright lights shone directly on the President, who was suspended in the air about thirty meters up. His Iron Patriot alloy armor gleamed conspicuously under the glare.

Cameras, operated by professionals, moved across the scene, capturing every detail. Killian stood to the side, holding a voice modulator. "People of the world, greetings. Before you stands the President of the United States—a butcher, a notorious liar who has harmed countless lives. And now, I, the Mandarin, will teach him the most valuable lesson of his life: judgment!"

Everything unfolding on the cargo ship was being broadcast live across global networks and television stations. This was the work of Killian's top-tier Research Think Tank.

Killian was conducting a live stream, broadcasting the events in real-time. *This is like a real stage performance,* he thought excitedly.

People around the world watched the broadcast.

"Holy shit, is this real? This is completely insane."

"My God, save him."

"This is utter madness!"

Countless comments flooded the screen, the events unfolding before them defying all logic. Kidnapping the President and live-streaming his murder?

Killian watched the diverse comments, his heart swelling with delight. He needed these viewers.

With a gentle wave of his hand, the massive cannon on the cargo ship's deck slowly raised its barrel, aiming at the President's vulnerable head hanging in the air. He pressed a button and roared, "Fire!"

*Boom!* A colossal cannonball shot forth, streaking through the air.

Mid-flight, with a deafening explosion, the shell seemed to strike something, detonating in a massive cloud of thick smoke. The President's figure vanished completely within the billowing haze.

Seeing this, Killian smirked, certain of his victory. He raised the voice modulator again and announced, "Viewers from around the globe, the President is dead."

"Who said that?"

At that moment, a cold voice drifted from the heart of the smoke.

The wind began to disperse the dust and haze.

A black-armored man with a flowing cloak and dark hair floated in the air, gazing down at him as if he were an ant.

The smoke slowly dissipated, gradually revealing everything hidden within.

The force that had blocked the cannonball was a massive protective array, adorned with intricate patterns and arcane runes. Yellow energy lines traced through the void, standing out vividly against the night sky.

Chen Chen hovered in the air, hands clasped behind his back. His pitch-black armor occasionally gleamed with a metallic sheen, but remained understated. Behind him, the ink-like Cloak of Levitation billowed in the night wind, its inscribed runes flickering with a subtle glow that was both dazzling and mesmerizing.

Chen Chen met Killian's astonished gaze.

"No one will be harmed under my protection," Chen Chen said, each word crisp and clear in the surrounding silence.

He then pointed behind him. Beside him stood Iron Man, Tony Stark, clad in his Iron Man Armor, his entire body suspended in mid-air by the suit's thrusters.

His right hand was supporting Mr. President. As he approached Chen Chen, he said, "Buddy, I'll take Mr. President to a safe place first. The rest is as planned. I'm counting on you."

With a whoosh, flames erupted from the thrusters beneath Tony's feet, instantly propelling him and the President skyward. In the pitch-black night, they soared in a graceful parabolic arc, disappearing into the distance.

Killian, standing nearby, snapped back to his senses as he watched Tony carry the President away. This was the fat prize he was about to devour, and now it was being snatched from under his nose, leaving him powerless to stop it.

This was his first failure as the Mandarin. He remembered boasting that "no one could stop him," only to be mercilessly slapped in the face by reality. Burning with humiliation and rage, Killian turned and glared up at Chen Chen, his teeth clenched, his voice dripping with fury:

"You're Tony Stark's partner, aren't you? How brave of you to stay behind alone to cover his retreat!"
