Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Good Student Cho Chang

Natasha seemed to want to say something more, but Jessica, standing by her side, noticed Cho Chang's cheeks, which were already flushed with embarrassment. With an aunt-like smile, she interrupted Natasha and gently pushed her toward the door.

"Alright, alright, since Adelaide is back, let's hurry back to the pitch and continue watching the match. Didn't you want to study the Slytherin Quidditch Team's tactics? Don't stay here and disturb the two girls."

Upon hearing about going back to watch the match, Natasha, a Quidditch fanatic, immediately stopped her incessant chatter. She grabbed Jessica's arm and strode hurriedly toward the pitch, shouting loudly for the other companions to hurry up and follow.

On the other side, Penelope watched Adelaide and Cho Chang as they held each other tightly, her eyes reflecting a hint of envy and sentiment.

She sighed softly and spoke slowly, "The pure and sincere friendship between young girls is as intense and beautiful as a burning flame. Dean Flitwick, Professor Rosier, let's not delay any longer; let's go watch the match together."

After speaking, Penelope smiled and made a gesturing motion toward Flitwick and Rosier, heading toward the bustling pitch.

Professor Flitwick knew exactly what the purpose of Dumbledore's operation was. Before this, he had been filled with worry, fearing that some accident might happen if his most pampered student, Adelaide, followed along—after all, this child was always full of curiosity and an adventurous spirit. What if something truly went wrong?

When he saw with his own eyes that Adelaide had returned safe and sound, his heart finally settled back into his chest, and he felt completely relaxed.

Standing to the side, Armandina's expression was exceptionally complex, as if her heart held a thousand words but she didn't know where to begin.

Having previously been focused on guarding against that little girl from the MacFusty Family, Armandina had actually overlooked an important fact: for Adelaide, the person she was currently closest to was actually Cho Chang from her own house!

Sigh~ I was clearly the first one to get to know Adelaide, so why does it feel like we aren't as close as we used to be... Is it really because of the age gap?

Armandina opened her mouth several times, wanting to say something to Adelaide, but the words were swallowed back down before they could be spoken.

In the end, she only gazed silently at Adelaide for a moment before leaving with the rest of the crowd.

The spacious and magnificent Great Hall of Hogwarts Castle now seemed exceptionally empty, with only Adelaide and Cho Chang left in the vast space.

Cho Chang stood there, lightly biting her pink lips, her hands unconsciously fiddling with the hem of her clothes. This bashful state lasted for a long while—finally, as if gathering all her courage, she looked up at Adelaide and said softly, "Adelaide, how about we review for the final exams together?"

Huh?

Hearing these words, Adelaide's eyes instantly widened, her face filled with shock.

The atmosphere had been just right—warm and tranquil. She had been planning to say something sweet to further close the distance between her and Cho Chang. Who could have imagined Cho Chang would suddenly say something so mood-killing!

Adelaide groaned inwardly. She truly couldn't understand why, at such a wonderful moment, Cho Chang would actually think of reviewing for those boring final exams.

However, clever as she was, Adelaide quickly thought of an excuse to decline.

She quickly put on a troubled expression and said, "Dear Cho Chang, I've been absorbed in experimenting with new spells all day and haven't eaten anything. Besides, it's almost past dinner time now, and my stomach is growling. Let's go eat first; we can talk about reviewing after we finish eating."

Once they finished eating, she would use the excuse of being tired and sleepy to act spoiled and go back to sleep. Perfect!

However, what Adelaide never expected was that Cho Chang seemed to have seen right through her thoughts.

Cho Chang gave a gentle smile, turned to a long table nearby, quickly grabbed a few sandwiches to shove at her, and then, without allowing any argument, pulled Adelaide's hand toward the stairs.

Being pulled along by Cho Chang, Adelaide was practically on the verge of tears, lamenting in her heart: she was already first in her year, so why did she have to suffer through reviewing for some stupid exams!

Why had she been surrounded by these workaholic overachievers since she was a child!

The thrilling and gripping Quidditch battle between Gryffindor and Slytherin lasted until past three in the morning, the entire pitch enveloped in a tense and fierce atmosphere.

The cheers of the spectators rose and fell, as if they were going to tear the dark night sky apart.

Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived—Charlie Weasley streaked across like a bolt of lightning, his sharp eyes fixed on the Golden Snitch shimmering with a dazzling light in the air.

Just as everyone held their breath, Charlie suddenly reached out and successfully snatched the Golden Snitch, thus ending this long and arduous match.

However, despite Charlie's outstanding performance, the Gryffindor team still failed to turn the tide.

After a fierce contest, they ultimately suffered a crushing defeat to the Slytherin Team with a massive point difference of 320 to 540, regretfully losing out on this year's quidditch cup.

Adelaide wasn't particularly surprised by this result, because she knew that according to the original plot, Gryffindor would have to wait until the famous savior Harry Potter reached his third year to lift the quidditch cup again.

As the Quidditch match drew to a close, the boisterous Hogwarts campus seemed to gradually return to its usual tranquility.

Students dispersed, returning to their respective dormitories to rest and prepare for a new day of school life.

But this so-called "tranquility" was merely a surface phenomenon. Only a day after the Hogsmeade Village magic beans incident, it spread like wildfire, becoming the hottest and most eye-catching news in the entire British Wizarding World.

Even the Hogwarts students, who were in the middle of a stressful final exam week, put down their books and review materials. Completely ignoring the impending exams, they began to inquire and spread various rumors and hearsay about the incident.

Fortunately, Adelaide had Dumbledore to cover for her, so up until now, except for a very small number of pure-blood families and Ministry of Magic personnel, most of the public did not know that the fall of Hogsmeade was Adelaide's doing.

However, there is no such thing as a wall that doesn't leak air. Within a few days, the three seniors of the Human Observation Group, through a process of deduction and investigation, eventually deduced that the culprit behind the Hogsmeade incident was Adelaide. They even gave her quite an interesting nickname—the "Vine Queen."
