Chapter 112 - Chapter 111: Foreign Languages are Good, Gotta Learn Foreign Languages

Cassius felt that although he had been busy all day, he wasn't tired at all!

Thinking that upgrading his attributes to the highest level could achieve this effect, Cassius's desire to level up reached its peak for the first time!

At night, Cassius had just finished showering and was contemplating whether to read the script for a while or go straight to sleep when his phone vibrated.

It was a message from Kat.

"Hey, Cass, asleep yet? Convenient to come out for a drink?"

"By the way, let's chat about the shooting of the next season of 2 Broke Girls. I have some new ideas about the interaction between Max and Han and want to hear your opinion. I know a nice little bistro."

Followed by a playful emoji!

Talking about work late at night?

Is it serious work?

Cassius raised an eyebrow.

Chatting about next season's shooting?

There wasn't even a shadow of the next season's script yet, and usually, this kind of thing was discussed through producers or directly on set.

He could guess most of Kat's intentions.

Most likely, she wanted to "eat something good"!

Blame himself for letting her taste the sweetness before!

Cassius regretted it so much he slapped his thigh.

He looked at the empty living room.

Kristen had gone to New York for a magazine shoot these past two days.

After being busy with Green Lantern's pre-production matters and the public opinion storm for a while, he was indeed a bit bored tonight.

Relaxing a bit didn't seem like a bad idea!

Cassius felt the [Rhythm] halo still running steadily in his body.

He was a bit curious about how this thing would perform in actual social combat in this non-work state.

Thinking of this, Cassius didn't hesitate at all and replied directly: "Send me the address!"

Who let Cassius love research so much!

Kat quickly sent a location in a rather quiet neighborhood in Los Angeles.

It wasn't a popular celebrity spot, but more like a hidden small restaurant known only to locals.

Cassius changed into comfortable casual clothes and drove there.

He specifically drove an inconspicuous car.

The place was indeed hard to find; the frontage was small, and the sign was almost covered by green plants.

Pushing the door open, the lighting inside was soft, the decoration was retro industrial style, there weren't many people, and relaxing jazz music was playing.

The aroma of food and alcohol wafted in the air.

It really didn't look like a place where paparazzi would camp out.

Just as he walked in, Cassius saw Kat sitting in a corner booth at a glance!

She was wearing a simple black tank top and jeans, with little makeup.

Her long blonde hair was loose, making her look more relaxed than in front of the camera, and also more lazily sexy.

Seeing Cassius, her eyes lit up, and she waved.

"Thought you weren't coming!"

Kat smiled and said as he sat down, pushing the drink menu over.

"You said you had brilliant ideas about Max and Han; how could I miss it!"

Cassius took the menu and replied casually.

Kat scoffed, "Come on!"

She didn't continue to hide it; both of them understood tacitly.

After ordering drinks and a few snacks, the atmosphere quickly relaxed.

At first, they did chat about 2 Broke Girls, roasting the screenwriters, recalling funny things during shooting, and talking about the recent status of other actors. After a few drinks, the topic began to drift slowly.

"Green Lantern, how does it feel recently? Now all of Hollywood is talking about you!"

Kat swirled her wine glass, ice cubes clinking, looking at Cassius curiously.

A while ago, they were both playing small supporting roles in Thor.

But in the blink of an eye, the man in front of her had turned into a superhero.

"Doesn't feel that good. Being under the spotlight, even a small thing gets magnified!"

Cassius told the truth.

"But you seem to be adapting quite well."

Kat's gaze lingered on his face. "Different from before. I can't say what kind of feeling it is!"

"Maybe I was scolded into it by Director Martin!"

Cassius cracked a joke.

The [Rhythm] halo was operating silently.

Cassius could clearly grasp the rhythm of the conversation.

When Kat was probing, when she was lamenting, and when her words carried a hint of vague sourness or appreciation.

He could precisely chime in at the right gaps, neither awkward nor overly enthusiastic.

When her speech was slightly rushed, he used a perfectly timed pause or the action of raising his glass to slow down the rhythm.

When Kat's eyes wandered as if she wanted to delve deeper into a topic, he could throw out a relaxed rhetorical question or shift the topic at the right time.

This feeling of pulling and pushing was wonderful!

Cassius enjoyed it!

But Kat obviously didn't think so!

She had been pulled by Cassius until her eyes were about to drip water; she was obviously aroused!

"This place is nice. How did you find it?"

Cassius looked around.

"A friend brought me here a few times!"

Kat put down her glass, leaning forward slightly with her elbows on the table. This action made the curve of her low neckline more obvious. "I really like places like this where no one knows me and I don't have to perform for anyone!"

Kat's eyes seemed to be glued to Cassius, looking at him motionlessly.

Alcohol plus the dim lighting.

And Cassius's damn calmness and precise teasing hooked out all the suppressed feelings in her heart.

She leaned closer and closer as she spoke.

The neckline of the black tank top deformed slightly with her movement, and the full curve inside was ready to come out.

Rising and falling gently with her slightly rapid breathing, as if issuing a silent invitation for its owner.

Cassius's gaze was inevitably attracted.

The [Rhythm] halo allowed him to clearly perceive the thick tension in the air at this moment and Kat's heavier breathing rhythm.

He wasn't a saint, nor was he Liuxiahui.

This scene and atmosphere—any normal man couldn't withstand it.

Moreover, Cassius was a good student!

It was time to enrich his vocabulary and learn foreign languages properly!

"It's a bit stuffy here; let's go out for some fresh air!"

She said abruptly, her eyes like little hooks.

She didn't wait for Cassius to answer and got up straight away.

Her steps were slightly floaty due to the alcohol, but she walked towards the door with a clear goal. That swaying figure quickly disappeared at the doorway.

Cassius paid the bill and followed her out.

The cool night air hit his face, blowing away some of the indoor heat, but the fire in his body became clearer.

The parking lot was quiet, with only a few streetlights casting dim halos. Kat walked to a rather ordinary-looking black SUV, unlocked it, opened the door, but didn't get in immediately.

"Prepared a gift for you, it's in the car!"

Kat glanced into the car.

Cassius didn't hesitate and sat directly in.

The car door closed with a "bang," isolating the faint light and sound outside.

The seats were reclined; the space was barely enough.

Just a bit dark!

Cassius didn't stay idle either, directly turning on the flashlight he carried with him to shine on the study materials!

The [Rhythm] halo began to exert force!

"Fuck!"

After a while, Kat exclaimed or complained, unknown which.

She turned her face, looking at Cassius in the dim light, her eyes complex. "Your rhythm is too good, I—"

She didn't finish, but Cassius understood.

Cassius didn't speak, just reached out and wiped the corner of her sweat-dampened mouth with his thumb.

Kat grabbed his wrist, didn't let go, but didn't go further either.

The two just stayed quietly in the cramped space where the scent hadn't dissipated for a while.

Cassius tidied up his messy clothes and sat up. "I should go!"

Kat also sat up slowly, didn't ask him to stay, just gave a "Mmhmm."

Tacit understanding between adults; some things didn't need to be said too clearly.
