Nathan after all he has been through he learned to be strong not only for himself but also for the people he loves so deeply. This feeling to grow stronger began at the day Jamie got married. WHY?! well... as usual Chris attracted a crowd of people of both genders.
Nathan of course felt uncomfortable and jealous not because these people were a threat to him. But because they were openly and brazenly thinking and acting like they were a better match for Chris.
The other love rivals were definitely not like these ones. Every day Chris would receive a phone call from different people eventhough he sometimes does not know them and this time at their usual café is not different there is another uninvited guest. ANOTHER ONE OF HIS LOVE RIVAL.
Nathan's eyes scanned the crowded café, his heart racing as he spotted him – the guy who had been making eyes at Chris all week. He was tall, dark-haired, and handsome, with a charming smile that seemed to disarm everyone around him.
Chris, sensing Nathan's tension, followed his gaze and chuckled. "Ah, him again," he said, rolling his eyes.
Nathan's jaw clamped shut. He knew Chris was used to attention, but it still made him feel like he was stuck in a perpetual state of insecurity. He'd always struggled with low self-esteem, and Chris's exuberant nature only made him feel more inadequate.
But today was different. Today, Nathan felt a spark of determination ignite within him.
"Hey, Chris," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I think it's time I took care of this."
Chris raised an eyebrow as Nathan stood up, his shoulders squaring as he approached the rival.
"Can I help you with something?" Nathan asked, his tone firm but polite.
The guy smiled, thinking he had an opening. "Just saying hi to Chris," he said, his eyes drifting back to Chris, who was now standing beside Nathan.
Nathan wrapped a possessive arm around Chris' waist. "He's with me, and stay away from my honey or else..... next time you will not be so lucky" he said, his voice firm.
The guy shrugged and backed off, but Nathan knew this wasn't the last they'd see of him. There were always going to be guys like that, guys who thought Chris was too good for him.
But Nathan was done feeling insecure. He turned to Chris, his eyes locking onto his partner's. "How was it? Did I embarrassed you?, and I am done feeling insecure. I feel so much better now" he said, his voice low.
Chris smiled, his eyes crackling at the corners. "No way not in a million years, Honey. Oh really? If that is the case then I am happy foryou" he said with a sweet smile, pulling Nathan into a kiss.
As they broke apart, Nathan felt a sense of freedom he hadn not felt in a long time. He was breaking free from his insecurities, and he had Chris to thank for it.
"Let's get out of here," Chris said, his voice husky.
Nathan grinned, feeling a sense of confidence he hadn not felt in ages. "Sounds like a plan," he said, leading Chris out of the café and into the bright sunlight .
On the way home Chris asked Nathan if people like that guy just now keep coming to bother him. " would you find it bothersome if they keep coming or would you keep protecting me? Chris asked looking worried.
Nathan laughed heartily at this silly goose and said: "you silly goose, what are you talking about? And I guess it is a sin to be so handsome and cute at the same time".
"TELL ME ABOUT IT! it is so hard to go out without having to be cautious", Chris said acting spoiled in Nathan's arms.
"Ooh my love, you have suffered. How can I make it up to you?, Nathan asked teasingly.
"HEY?! HOW DARE YOU?!" Chris punched Nathan lightly on the chest now pretending like he was angry. "I am serious and here you are teasing me like that", Chris continues angrily.
"OK ok. Do not be mad,ok? I will not ever do it again, ok?" Now Nathan is trying please Chris so he can calm down and talk him again. But Chris was not having it.
